“Heather watched our cat, Guinness, for the week we were away. She was very reliable and communicated any issues very clearly. Guinness was well taken care of and really looked forward to her dropping in to care for him and spend some time playing. I’d highly recommend her and plan to book with her in the future for the cat and possibly our dogs, too.”

About: Experience with multiple breeds of dogs. My heart is owned by our 5 boys and our 3 furbabies 16 year old Siberian Husky named Lola, a 2 year old husky/german Shepard mix named Skye and a 13 year old Australian shepherd named Apache . Firmly believe that pets are family and that it’s up to us humans to provide them with the best life possible. Without a doubt, I will treat your pet family members as if they were my own, with an abundance of love and attention. I know what it’s like to have a good pet sitter and I’ve been very fortunate to know what it’s like to have a peaceful vacation without worries, let me be the one to ease your mind when it comes to your pets care. I’m always doing something doggie related. In addition to Rover we also offer dog grooming so we stay pretty busy with the pooches every day of the week. I have crates to accommodate all sizes of pups for those that are crate trained. Those that need a human bed to sleep in, I’ve got plenty of those as well. Huge yard for lots of exercise.

About: I have had dogs since I was in preschool. I started my understanding of them and other animals when I turned nine. Since then, I always have had my and other people’s pets interest at heart. Today, my dogs are ages eight and eleven and I am their most trusted person in the house. I’ve trained them both despite being in school and I take care of their hygiene. This includes brushing their fur, washing them, and cleaning their teeth. When I am not taken care of their hygiene, I make sure they have a daily playtime or cuddle session so they have some love everyday. I have a part time job that requires me to work on Friday evenings, some Mondays, Wednesday nights, Friday nights, and Sunday however I do have a cancellation on those days sometimes and I will let clients know. Other than that I am very flexible on both weekdays and weekends. If I am unable to work, I will communicate immediately to the best of my ability. I make sure hazards are out of range and site of the animal in care. I don’t rush the bond, and take it to the pet’s pace for trust. At home, my dogs at senior dogs that I have trained since they were puppies and we have a lot of trust in each other and a great bond. I can’t perform service at my own house since I have a toddler sibling who my dogs have gotten used to but I do not want to stress anyone’s pets out. We also have family members who have allergies.

About: Hi, I've been around pets for the last 15ish years with that I've learned that not all dogs are the same and will react the same way towards everyone. I have worked with dogs who were previously in shelters, nervous dogs, fearful dogs, and anxious dogs. I have experience dog sitting small and big dogs. I have potty trained my own dogs and have helped friends potty train as well. I'm comfortable with bathing, brushing, feeding, walking, and interacting with dogs. I have worked with special needs dogs and am comfortable changing their diapers, applying creams and ointments, and applying wraps or bandages if needed. I'm comfortable feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and brushing cats. I've also taken care of small reptiles like bearded dragons and geckos, as well as birds like cockatiels and parakeets. I just moved to the area and have flexible availability. I am available for drop ins and walks throughout the day. No time is too early or too late. About: Growing up on a horse farm my entire life and studying animal husbandry has given me experience caring for animals of all ages. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs, small breeds, and pets needing extra attention, including those requiring daily medications. 🐾❤️ As a stay-at-home mom to my sweet eight-month-old baby girl, I have plenty of time and flexibility to give your pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. 🐾 With your permission, my little one would join me for drop-ins or dog walks while I provide your furry friends with a safe, happy, and loving experience. ❤️ There’s no place like home, especially for your pets. 🐾 Caring for them in the comfort of your home helps keep their routine the same while providing love, attention, fresh food and water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. My goal is to make every visit stress-free, giving your pets the care they deserve and giving you peace of mind while you’re away. ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
