“Jasmine was absolutely wonderful! She took care of our three indoor cats for over a week, and we couldn't have asked for better care. She is extremely friendly, a great communicator, and kept us completely at ease while we were away. Jasmine made sure everyone was fed on schedule, spent quality time playing with them every single day, and went above and beyond to keep them happy and healthy. On top of taking fantastic care of our fur babies, she made sure our house stayed completely secure, giving us total peace of mind the entire trip. We will definitely be booking Jasmine again and highly recommend her!”

About: Since I was a little girl, I have always had a ♥ for animals. I've cared for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and a mini pig. A plus for me is that I have been a foster for Animal Rescue of Tracy for 10+ years now, so I have experience with all sorts of dogs and cats, from those who need special medication to rambunctious dogs to newborn kittens. There is no animal you can give me that I will not love, pet, cuddle, and care for. 🌷 I am a responsible 25 year old who has been caring for animals my whole life. This is my first Rover account, but I have been pet sitting in the Tracy community for 10 years. I live on 1.5 acres with 25 + animals, so I am very experienced and would love to help out with your furry friends! :) I'm currently working part-time with the majority of my work being remote so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets! 🏡 I live on 1.5 acres of property so your dogs will have plenty of space to run around, play, and relieve themselves. Depending on your dog's friendliness, they can remain inside with my two small dogs, or I can keep them in our supervised dog run area just for them. If you have cats, they will be contained in their own area in my house so that they do not run and hide, as new environments tend to cause anxiety. 🏠 If house sitting, I make the animals feel as comfortable as possible to ease any stress of their owners being away. Pets & play are always guaranteed. I also send pictures everyday & when asked! ⭐ My routine is simple: follow your directions on feeding, walking, medication if needed, and I will handle the other most important part: giving them lots of love!
“Maci was awesome with our cat! She gave consistent updates and kept us updated on how he was doing. She also helped with bringing packages into the house when were gone and let us know.”

“I haven’t had a pet sitter willing to take care of and care for Charlie like Dulce. He is difficult and closed, and she cared for him just the same. She texted me with questions and suggestions during the stay that showed the level of care she gives.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 15 years and have experience with both dogs and cats. I understand that every pet is different, and I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow their individual routines. Whether they need walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply some company, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own. I am a fourth grade teacher so my schedule for work is 7:00am-3:00pm. I am available after work for daily walks. If you need a house sitter I would be away for those hours. I love to play with pets and take them on walks around the neighborhood. I also love to snuggle if they’re up for it! I love seeing animals different personalities.
“We were so happy with the care our dog received from Rylie. She went above and beyond with our golden retriever. We were on a 9 day vacation and she came three times a day and walked our dog once a day. We weren’t expecting our dog to get sick while she was here and have several accidents around our house. She handled the situation very professionally. She didn’t complain or get upset. She took care of it without any hesitation. She even went to the store and bought her more food and pumpkin to calm her belly. It worked out and she felt better and we were so relieved that we didn’t have to worry about our dog while in her care. I highly recommend this sweet young lady to anyone looking for a competent and loving dog sitter.”

“Abigael was absolutely amazing! She took great care of Athena while I was away for over a week. She sent updates, pictures and went above and beyond and I can't thank her enough! Highly recommend!”

“Alexus was so sweet and kind to my kittens! She sent great updates and my cats loved her! One of my cats is pretty shy but wasn’t scared of alexus at all. Definitely recommend using her and will do again in the future”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vernalis. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
