About: I have taken care of many different dogs and cats for family and friends. I always had pets growing up and I currently have 3 dogs of my own. I’m currently working part-time teaching dance to the youth between 4-9pm. This leaves my whole morning/afternoon open. I do have weekend business trips here and there but most weekends are available. I have a fenced in yard and three friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I have a crate for any dogs that need it. As well as extra leashes and harnesses for walks.
About: My initial professional experience with animals was working at an animal hospital where I took care of dogs and cats. This work formed my adult fondness for pet care. As a teenager I had several cats and dogs in my household, and I was responsible for taking care of all of them. More recently, I have engaged in dog sitting and have been a pet-parent for the past 15 years. I am very flexible as far as my weekly routine is concerned, so I can accommodate just about any pet sitting request on very short notice. I am available for pet-sitting in your home so that your dog and/or cat (I also take care of fish) remains as comfortable as possible in the environment they are most familiar with.
About: I have always had dogs in my life as pets. I have been house sitting for 10 years. My house sitting clients rely on me to exercise their dogs as well as feed and medicate their dogs. I have experience with all sizes and many breeds. I pet sit full time. I am available to be in the home with pets full time on most days with some exceptions for errands. I will not be offering boarding in my home but I take pride in taking care of your pets in their own homes. I follow all instructions and make sure I’m very clear on parents wishes and routines. I take care of your pet as if they were my own!
“Daizee is a great dog sitter. My lab started out being unfriendly, but she warmed up to her. My dog was very content when I returned. First time doing this. Daizee went out of her way to my house to find a lost key.”
About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals, along with my reliability and attention to detail. As a nurse, I provide compassionate care every day and understand how important it is to make others feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I am experienced in following detailed instructions, maintaining routines, and staying calm in unexpected situations. I’m also comfortable caring for pets who need medications or extra attention. Most importantly, I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they receive plenty of love, patience, and companionship while giving owners peace of mind that their furry family member is in caring and responsible hands. As a full-time nurse working night shift, I have a flexible daytime schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to pet care. On my days off, I have even more availability for walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. I understand the importance of consistency and routine for pets, and I make sure they receive attentive, reliable care while their owners are away. I care for pets by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I try to follow all feeding schedules, provide fresh water, administer medications if needed, take dogs for walks and potty breaks, clean up after them, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for. My goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vandalia. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
