About: I work from home and love dogs and cats! However I cannot have my own at this time. I have experience taking care of both dogs and cats, having had both. In my free time, I used to volunteer taking dogs from a nearby shelter for walks, I find it personally just very rewarding (and great exercise)! Because I work from my home, I can be more flexible with my schedule. I live next to the Burke Gilman trail and love to take walks. I am active as a person (swimming, running, water polo) and can help get those energetic doggos get moving! Since I work from home I can manage my schedule (more flexibility) and can either walk dogs in the afternoons or evenings. Weekends can be more flexible depending on the weekend. I have a fenced yard with a great outdoor space. I also live close to the Burke Gilman trail and love walking to Matthews Beach park or Meadowbrook park. About: I am the first to say “pick me!” when a friend is in need for a pet-sitter. I feel very comfortable around animals and love to be in their company. We, my husband and I have a 2.5 year old Miniature American Shepard, Iris. We have grown her up since she was about 2 months old. We live in a house with a fenced backyard so your dog will have a good space to run around during the day. I am a full-time Rover dog-sitter so I can stay close to your dog most of the time, so that they don't feel lonely during your absence, of course Iris is here for your dog too :). I will follow a specific schedule or your dog's needs like feeding time or walking time, or anything for making your dog feel as comfortable as possible. Just let me know if you have any concerns or questions about your dogs or their stay! I am happy to talk about it and make their stay happier with you :) My day starts with letting my dog go to the backyard then give her breakfast around 7 am. After having a coffee I usually walk around with dogs before sun warms the ground up. I play with dogs with toys and fetch in the backyard a few times during the daytime and go for a walk again in the evening. Feed dinner around 7 pm and do the last short walk for the potty around 10:30 pm before going to bed. We take dogs to a dog park on weekends depending on the dog's personality. We have a fenced yard so your dog can run around during the day safely. And living in a peaceful residential neighborhood allows us to walk around with pups without any concern for broken glasses on the ground or someone shouting across the road... I care for your dog as I care for my dog for sure. Your dog is a part of our family during their stay! A lot of plays and walks, and hugs. I will not leave your dog alone usually, but I will ask you first if it's inevitable. I also have a lot of toys in the house and different style of beds so your dog will find something fit for them! if they want :) I wash all the toys once a week, vacuum clean once a day to keep our house clean and comfortable for both humans and dogs. Refresh dogs water 3.4 times or more as needed. I normally take one or two clients at the same time for better supervision and meeting the individual needs.

About: Saying I love animals doesn't even begin to describe it! I've had dogs my entire life, but have been dogsitting for friends, family and coworkers for the last 13 years. I’m a longtime volunteer at Seattle Animal Shelter as a dog walker and dog behavior team member, so I have experience with a wide variety of dogs and their quirks. I trained with a dog behaviorist to work with more challenging dogs in the shelter environment and use positive reinforcement training methods only, no exception. He had asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, a throat tumor that blocked 90% of his airway (which was successfully removed), hip dysplasia (also a successful surgery), and a luxating patella that required an ankle brace. Going through all of this taught me how important it is to be in tune with your animals; recognizing signs of distress or pain, noticing small changes in behavior or routine, respecting boundaries, and staying aware of potential toxins or safety hazards in their environment. I scoop litter boxes 2+ times a day, wash food bowls after every use, refresh water daily, and keep the space tidy. I’m also super mindful about safety. Food, drinks, plants, hair ties, strings, and any little “oops” hazards get put away so curious paws stay out of trouble. I keep the vibe calm and gentle, and I always let pets come to me on their own terms. No forced interactions. I follow their pace, their comfort level, and their boundaries. I’m extremely careful with doors and entryways, and I’ll never assume it’s okay for any pet to be outdoors unsupervised. And when it comes to cats, I never assume it’s okay for them to be outside under any circumstance. I double‑check (sometimes triple!), and do everything I can to make sure no one sneaks out. For dog walks, I stay alert and aware of our surroundings. I’ll wait for other dogs to pass or cross the street if needed, and I keep treats on hand to encourage positive behavior and make walks fun and rewarding.
