About: I've had cats and dogs at home for the last 18 years. Since the last of my fur babies passed away there is plenty of room in the house and in my heart to take care of others. I have dog sat for friends over the years and have a lot of experience with senior pets and medical issues. I work from home full-time during the week and am readily available to potty, walk, feed, or play with your dog or cat as needed. I have a decent-sized fully-fenced yard for your dog to potty or play in, and I would never leave them outside unsupervised. My home is big enough to accommodate a large dog and I have baby gates if needed.

She came back totally herself, with no signs of the stress which we have noticed with some other sitters. About: I’ve loved dogs my whole life and grew up with small dogs, so caring for them has always felt natural. Today, I regularly spend time with dogs of all sizes through friends and neighbors and frequently welcome them into my home when their owners are away. I work from home full-time with a very flexible schedule, which means your dog will get plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I live in a quiet, pet-free townhouse with only my partner, and we’re surrounded by green space that’s perfect for walks and outdoor time. My partner and I are planning to adopt a dog of our own soon, so we’re excited to open our home to more pups in the meantime! Because I work from home with a flexible schedule your dog would rarely be left alone for extended periods and would receive lots of care and attention! About: I have a long history of taking care of senior dogs and dogs with special needs/medical needs. I can give oral medication pretty easily, and if your dog has other needs just show me how to do it and I can learn! We used to have a dog with serious chronic medical conditions so we've pretty much seen it all at this point. We currently have 2 chihuahuas of our own - a sleepy 12 year old named Camel and a 6 year old party boy named CG. We also sometimes have a foster dog with us from a rescue shelter too, who can be any age, male or female, and always a small dog. I got my dog CG at 9 weeks old so I have puppy training knowledge too. Please note I can only board smaller dogs ~25 pounds or less. I'm in school with hybrid classes, so I'm only away for a few hours a week. I'm free all day most days. I have a small fully-fended outdoor patio with a potty area. I have 2 dogs of my own, both chihuahuas. My dogs usually sleep in my bed with me but I can also crate your dog if you want. One of my dogs has arthritis so we have dog ramps/dog stairs all over, and I'm used to carrying little dogs up the big stairs as needed. If we need to drive the dogs anywhere, we have a dog seat in the car and little doggie seat belts for safety.

I have a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which helped me gain a lot of understanding for how modeling positive behaviors can pay off in all parts of life. About: I've been taking care of animals pretty much my entire life, most notable being my Yorkie for about 18 years before she passed from old age. I have also cared for a guinea pig, fish, two cats, and 6 dogs. I understand the importance of an owner feeling safe for their pets (family) when their away and I will do everything to make sure they're happy. I'm open to care for pets anytime when needed throughout the week. It's not often I'm backed up with events that would prevent me from showing up. I always make sure pets get the proper care at the correct time so there isn't any accidents that may occur. A routinely schedule for them is incredibly important.

About: For over seven years, I volunteered with a rescue group, training and caring for dogs with behavioral issues and special needs. (Not to mention plenty of well-adjusted, healthy pups!) As the parent of a senior dog myself, I empathize with all of the emotions and apprehension that can occur (on both sides!) when pets are apart from their people, I understand how important it is to know your pets' caretaker is not only capable of providing the logistical support to keep your pet healthy while you are away, but that they genuinely care about your pet and their experience. In caring for your pet, I aim to provide you with the peace of mind that the furry piece of your heart you couldn't take with you is having a great time while you are away from home. I will learn your pets' routines and send regular updates to let you know how they are doing during your absence. I understand that animals are individuals, and what works for one dog/cat/other may not work for another. I have experience working with pets of a wide array of ages, energy levels, and medical needs, have experience managing intricate feeding and medication schedules, and have some experience administering (cat) insulin injections. If you have any questions, please ask away! As far as what I request from clients: If I will be staying in your home, clean bedding/towels are appreciated. Additionally, i am not likely to eat food you’ve left behind, so if something in your refrigerator or on your counter will expire before you return, you may wish to dispose of it before leaving. My job is currently remote as of the time I am writing this; so my care schedule for overnight stays can be somewhat flexible as long as you have a strong, secure WiFi. Additionally, I will need to stop home 1-2 times during the day most days to care for my own senior dog while their other parent is at work. This has not and should not cause a disruption for our stay, especially if you are located in (or within a short bus ride to/from) Capitol Hill or the Central District. I tend to be more of a night owl than an early bird. For walks and drop-in visits outside of overnight stays, I am generally available after 6:30pm on weekdays and after 1:30pm on weekends. Nobody knows your pets better than you, so I will follow your care instructions and take in anything else you think I should know about your best bud(s) during our time together.

“Lauren was the first sitter/boarding experience for my new puppy, and she was fantastic. Eddie can be a bit nervous in new situations but she was very comfortable with Lauren and loved the views from her windows. Lauren communicated great and I felt comfortable the entire time.”
“Stephanie did an amazing job with our dogs. They can be anxious when they are away from us, but she was so good with them and made them feel so comfortable. She also responds quickly and provided us with pictures and updates throughout our trip. She is also flexible and was understanding of our possible changes in our trip plans and the delay we had in getting back to pick them up. We would definitely have our dogs stay with her again in the future!”

I really appreciate that, prior to boarding, he took the time to discuss with me what would be needed and if his space/setup would be safe for the birds. He even read through a doc I had made to make sure he could provide a good experience with them! Thankful for Christopher’s patience with my anxiety, for him being up to the challenge to care for them, and for being easygoing about something he hadn’t done before, as well as providing communications on the birds’ boarding stay throughout!”

We got regular updates, and Amy took great care of Roux’s physical needs related to allergies and some surprise tummy trouble.
