About: My entire family has dogs and I’ve always loved them. I had a dog in high school, Oreo; she was a pitbull mix and she was my first dog. I learned most of my training experience from Oreo and taking her to training sessions. One of my previous jobs was at a dog grooming establishment, I was there for a year and two months as the receptionist. During my time at the dog grooming place I formed relationships not only with our human customers but also the furbabies. I’ve met all kinds of dog breeds through my old job and in passing throughout the streets of DC. My old coworker called me the dog whisperer. When customers came in and said their dog might not take to me I always managed to get them to warm up to me. I can’t tell you how many times I heard “they’ve never done that with anyone before”, not only from owners but my coworkers too. I’ve calmed the most rowdy dogs like it was nothing because I love dogs with my entire heart. I have a huge soft spot for big dogs, especially pitbulls and german shepherds. I’ve worked with many breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. There’s not a dog I’ve encountered who I haven’t been able to work my magic on, I hope to continue doing so with Rover. I’m currently working full time but I live extremely close to my job, like 5 minutes away, so I’m able to check on the dogs throughout the day. I’ll make sure to use a dog cam to make sure they’re okay as well. On my days off I’ll be home to watch them all day. I live in an apartment with surrounding grass areas for the dog to relieve themselves. I used to dog sit for a previous roommate of mine while in an apartment, so I’m familiar with timing bathroom breaks according to the time it takes to get outside. The dogs are free to roam my living space, I’ll make sure to close off the bedrooms unless they are with me. There will be a designated area for their things (crate, bed, toys, etc). I’m pretty flexible, I want to maintain the dog’s routine as much as possible especially their training.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life — from our childhood Irish Setter, Sadie, to our five cats and three birds. Beyond family pets, I’ve also cared for my own animals, including my boss’s elderly Chihuahua, Tu, who is now a sweet 15‑year‑old “little old lady” that I look after entirely, as well as my pony, Sea Star. I bottle‑fed Sea Star as a child, trained him to ride, and taught him to pull a cart throughout high school. I have hands-on experience that I believe typical pet-sitters do not hold. Some examples include dog-sitting for our neighbors for two summers in middle school, managing their eight rescue dogs with no issues and also volunteering to feed and care for a friend’s 13 horses once a week, morning and night, throughout an entire winter. I also just completed a 2 month house sitting job for a family this summer. I maintained their home, their many, many plants and also took detailed care of their 3 adorable cats. Over the years, I’ve taken responsibility for all of our family pets as well when parents or siblings have gone away on trips (canaries, parakeets, 2 dogs and 5 cats.) I’m comfortable with animals of every temperament, size, and background, and many people say I have a natural ability to get animals to warm up to me quickly even if they struggle with fear and/or anxiety. I treat every animal as a valuable, sentient creature deserving of respect, patience, and kindness. My priority is always to make them feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Currently I'm in part time online school and only working flexible jobs such as pet-sitting, house sitting, babysitting etc. With this work life, my availability is flexible and I am able to prioritize your pets schedule. I do have resposibilities at my church on Sundays and Tuesdays for part of the day and am also driving two high-school girls to and from school every other week consistently. Additionally, I have lived in a household with a lively puppy and six newborn kittens, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in caring for young and energetic animals. My background has equipped me with the skills and compassion needed to provide exceptional care for pets of all ages and temperaments. Monday through Friday: • Morning: Before leaving for work, I ensure all pets are fed, have fresh water, and are let outside for a brief walk or playtime. • Evening: After work, I spend quality time with the pets, including a longer walk for the dogs, feeding, playtime, and any other necessary care (like grooming or administering medications). I reside in a neighborhood that is very pet friendly. I have close access to several parks with walking trails to accommodate any high energy dogs. My apartment offering ample room for either a crate or free roaming within the house, depending on your preference.

I’m so happy he gets a happy easy-going doggy friend in Khali, and experience with Pursey the cat. It’s so nice knowing that he is so beautifully cared for. Jennifer was extra kind this time, giving him medicine and more walks since he couldn’t run around her spacious front yard due to a healing injury. We love getting updates and adorable pictures throughout his time there. I’m not sure Harley really wanted to leave!”

“This weekend was our first experience using Rover for a sitter for our pup, Maisie, and we couldn’t have asked for better than Alyce and her family to watch her! Alyce hosted us for a meet and greet beforehand to make sure that Maisie and her dog would get along, which really put our minds at ease. Over the course of her stay, we received several photos and videos of Maisie playing with the other dogs and with Alyce’s sons, and you could just tell she was having a fantastic time. She really liked the variety toys that Alyce keeps for the dogs and roaming the nice, fenced backyard! We appreciated Alyce’s consistent communication and we had no doubt that our dog was in great, responsible hands and also enjoying herself! We would definitely recommend booking with Alyce and are confident we’ll be requesting her services again in the future!”
