“TL;DR: Myia was so fantastic with our cats that we rebooked her while the current booking was still ongoing! I'm so glad we found her! She spent an hour a day with our 2 cats for two weeks. She was very communicative and punctual. I had mild separation anxiety leaving the cats for so long, but Miya sent great photos and updates every day that made me feel so much better! During her visits, apart from her usual duties, she also cleaned up an accident near the litter box and brought it 2 packages that we had mistimed to be delivered during our travel. She also found a rogue vitamin pill on the floor and made sure the cats wouldn't have access to it in case it was toxic. She gave lots of loving to our social cat and listened to my suggestions on how to get the anti-social one to open up to her. Just a rockstar all around! About: Welcome to Wiggly Butt Retreat, where dogs are spoiled, snuggled, and adored. I provide calm, home-based dog boarding and daycare designed to feel less like traditional boarding and more like staying with someone your dog already knows and loves. I am generally home throughout the day, so my guests get plenty of attention, affection, playtime, outdoor breaks, and, of course, naps and cuddles. I intentionally keep things small and personal. I mostly care for one dog/household at a time. If I do take more than one, it's always discussed with owners and I'm very selective about the dogs I accept together. I consider personality, temperament, size, energy level, age, and individual needs because I want every dog in my home to feel safe and comfortable. This is not a crowded kennel or large daycare environment. It is my home, and every dog who stays here becomes part of it for a little while. Dogs have been a huge part of my life for almost 30 years. I've raised and trained my own dogs, spent about 15 years fostering and helping rehabilitate abused and neglected dogs, volunteered as a dog specialist in high-stress shelter environments, and completed animal behavior and handling training through Best Friends Animal Society and Salt Lake County Animal Services. That experience has taught me that dogs aren't one-size-fits-all. Some want to play all day. Some would happily spend the afternoon curled up next to me. Some need a little extra patience before they decide I'm trustworthy. And some need more structure, space, or reassurance to feel comfortable. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog's personality and figuring out what makes them happiest. Most importantly, I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else. Because I intentionally keep the number of dogs in my care exclusive/small, I'm able to get to know each pup's personality and make sure they get the right balance of activity, attention, play, and downtime. Not every dog wants to do the same thing, and that's perfectly okay. Pups are rarely left alone while staying with me. If I do need to step out, it's typically for a short period of time, usually no more than an hour or two. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priority. There are no pets or children in the home, which helps create a quieter, lower-stress environment for dogs who prefer a little more peace and consistency. My family are all dog people, so pups are always surrounded by people who genuinely love and enjoy them. We have a fenced patio/run where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time, stretch their legs, and take easy potty breaks throughout the day. I also have a secure lead setup in the front yard where dogs who enjoy the outdoors can safely relax, sunbathe on the outdoor bed, sniff around, and enjoy some fresh air while supervised. We’re also surrounded by some of Daybreak’s best dog-friendly parks, walking trails, and green space, including areas near the lake, which means lots of safe, leashed walks, fresh air, sniffing, and enrichment. For everyone’s comfort and safety, I require a meet & greet for all new clients to make sure we are a great fit before booking.

About: Dogs have been a big part of my life pretty much since I was born. No, really….my parents had a sheep dog named Cassie and as a toddler we were best buddies. Cassie would slide across our kitchen tiled floor and knock into me. I laughed hysterically as I tumbled to the floor and clapped my hands signaling her to do it again! Then, as a preteen, Santa Claus brought a Golden Retriever puppy named Kessler to our home and she claimed me as hers-cuddling up in my bed at night, catching my softballs in the backyard during my practices, and comforting me through all the tough parts that come with growing up. When it was time to start my own family, my husband and I adopted a corgi named Tuff and he became our first “child”. He kept me company during those first years of long nights with babies. After tuff died, Pearl, a one year old Portuguese Water Dog, recently joined our family. She is a best friend not only to me but also my 5 kids who adore her. We are an active family of 7 and Pearl joins us hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, on walks around our neighborhood, and playing catch in the fields and parks by our house. Dogs have been the most loyal, trustworthy, loving, joyful best friends of my life. I have happily taken care of neighbors and friends' dogs over the years. Now that all my kids are in full-day school, I am ready to welcome your furry best friend into our home while you are away. I just ask that your dog be potty trained, kid friendly as well as dog friendly, and hypoallergenic if I am boarding them in my home. I am also available with extremely flexible hours for house calls, potty breaks, and walks for all breeds. I can't wait to Meet you and your furry friend! I’ve taken classes on pet CPR, have experience with nervous dogs, and know the proper way to accommodate them. I have never met a dog I did not like. “We absolutely loved Jessica! She and her husband took amazing care of our baby girl, Leeloo. Our girl was in absolute heaven at their home. They were incredibly attentive. They took Leeloo on long walks, hiking, sunbathing, and even let Leeloo sleep with them at night. They loved on her as if she was theirs.
