Growing up, we always had at least one dog, and several cats, that were usually rescues - either formally adopted by us, or informally adopted by them. And since leaving home, I have never been "pet-less" longer than a few months. Currently, I am the mom of an amazing Border Collie rescue puppy, an adorable middle aged Dachshund, and a spunky young Parakeet. As for the human children in my house ...they are growing up so fast!
