About: My wife and I have been dog sitting for multiple friends over the years and as Rover sitters since August 2020! We both love meeting new furry friends (and their owners) - we have 2 small dogs of our own. We do prefer to sit dogs with low to medium energy levels (to accommodate our elderly dog) and 2 years or older, but we can definitely make exceptions on age and energy level with a Meet & Greet. I work from home, so I’m readily available to keep your pet companion company while you’re away on vacation, business or if your grumpy mother-in-law who doesn’t like dogs is in town. About: I have cared for dogs all of my life. As a child, we bred Labrador puppies. We were taught to raise them from the beginning with love, care, and discipline. While I've been around dogs and cats all of my life, I also have plenty of experience with other pets like snakes, Guinea pigs, chameleons, pet rats, turtles, lizards, birds and always love meeting a new animal to learn more about their care routine. Boarding/Day Care: We have a highly energetic, one year old puppy. We usually only take males or spayed females as our puppy is not yet neutered. If your dog is easily triggered, it may not be a fit. My earliest memories consist of watching and helping my dog give birth and raise 10 puppies when I was 4 years old. Volunteering at the Austin Animal Center as a teenager was a natural step in my love for animals. I walked the small dogs outside for bathroom breaks and playtime while keeping puppies occupied when their crates were getting cleaned. I also walked the large dogs from their suites to the group play area and supervised multiple large dogs’ interactions. My friends have been trusting me to care for their animals and homes for 7 years now, and I have absolutely loved it! My experience ranges from small dogs to big dogs, puppies to seniors, and I have administered oral medication numerous times. The longest I have house sat was a week straight and the most animals I have cared for at a time is 4. I can’t wait to meet you and your babies❤️ I am currently working part time as a babysitter so I have a lot of availability for walks, feeds, hangouts, play, and cuddles! I am available seven days a week for feedings, walks, and daytime care starting at 10:30 am and into the night. For housesitting visits, I can come and stay at your house Friday night, Saturday night, and holidays for overnight care. First of all, I respect, follow, and complete all written or spoken directions on how to care for your pet and take care of your house. A typical sitting appointment for me is being there to provide food/water, frequent bathroom breaks, outside play, inside play (if given permission), a walk around the neighborhood (if requested), and a movie night with unlimited cuddles 🥰. About: From a young age, I started pet-sitting for my neighbors, and continue to do so for my friends as I've gotten older. Pets that I've taken care of include dogs, cats, birds, fish, frogs, rabbits, horses, and even a rooster. During the 2023 holiday season, I found myself in a position alone, and needing to provide medical care to my senior-cat learned how to administer daily SQ fluids, medications, as well as prepping food and medications to administer through a feeding tube every 4 hours. I'm a quick learner and always act accordingly to ensure an animal's well-being. On a very sad note, I lost my fur-daughter in the very early morning right after Christmas in 2023, so I'm taking a break from being a pet owner. When you select me, it makes it all the more special to enjoy the time with your pet(s), including co-sleeping! lol **I am currently out of town & will not be available for Meet & Greets until after July 21. I'm currently starting my own consulting practice & stay in more often than not. so for the most part I am flexible as long as I have an Internet connection. For doggies, I do prefer low-energy ones , & preferably that can go up to 8 hours before needing to be let outside in case I have something going on during the day such as an in-person workshop, but I'm happy to have a quick conversation about their schedule and compare it to mine during the time they'll be in my care, since mine varies on a week-to-week basis. I always make sure to check & double check the the locks when I come & go & will text the owner if I observe something out of the ordinary. When it comes to taking care of pets, I ask the owner if they want the pet to be played with or respect the boundary if they say the pet is stressed around strangers, and just focus on their basic needs of food, water, & whatever else to minimize separation anxiety. In terms of trust, I believe it can be easily lost & not always possible to get back, so I make sure to conduct myself in a way that assures all parties, & results in zero horror stories. More on trust, I worked with children starting in 2019 for 11 years consecutively before moving to Austin, and worked two seasonal Federal Government positions since 2020 & 2021.
