“This was my first experience with Rover. I selected Lucyna because of her reviews and location. I took my very active German Shorthair Puppy over for a meet and greet. He and Lucyna’s German Shepherd hit it off immediately after their sniff and meet. Lucyna and I agreed it would be a good fit. We left our dog for two nights. Lucyna kept me updated on how my dog was doing including cute pictures. She took both dogs for walks (not an easy chore considering their size and energy level). She treated my dog as one of their family. When we picked him up he was “sort of” happy to see us. My surprise! I thought he would be head over heels! “Justin literally saved my trip!!!!! I apparently needed my birth certificate to get on a ship and take the cruise I was planning, I learned this early in the morning on the day I was supposed to board the ship. Justin was supposed to start sitting for me the day after. I called him in desperation and he immediately drove to my home, even though I had not hired him for that day and started to let me walk him through finding a single piece of paper in my large filing cabinet. He was absolutely patient, while I was in panic mode. HE FOUND IT!!!! Faxed it, and texted an image of it and was sooooo patient with me. I was able to board the ship! He then took very good care of my pets, home, plants and fed the feral cat that stops by for dinner at night. I came home to live plants, happy cats and feeling rested from a vacation that almost did'nt happen. I hired the right guy, and will absolutely hire him in the future. He is a calm presence....even if I was not. I would recommend him absolutely.”

About: What sets me apart is my combination of hands-on animal care experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I grew up on a farm, so caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for a variety of farm animals, which taught me responsibility, patience, and the importance of paying attention to an animal’s individual needs. About: I cannot remember a time in my life when dogs were not around. As soon as I graduated college, I began volunteering with a no-kill shelter in Austin, Texas. Volunteering at the shelter quickly expanded to becoming a dog foster. At the time, I did not have dogs of my own, so I was the perfect candidate to foster long-stay dogs as well as dogs with behavior and medical issues. My first foster was a tiny puppy recovering from Parvo. It was one of the toughest and most rewarding dog experiences of my life! Fostering dogs with behavior issues gave me the opportunity to participate in several training courses and programs. One of those dogs even inspired a dog-empowerment non-profit organization (Dogs Out Loud) -- she was also the logo! After several years of working with this dog, she became my last foster dog...because we adopted her! We introduced another dog into our home a few years later and it was a constant work in progress (and training) to keep those two in each other's good graces. Both of those babes have since crossed the rainbow bridge. We currently foster through DFW Lab Rescue because we are not ready to adopt, but as mentioned above, I can't imagine a home with no dog. My journey with dogs has allowed me to meet a wide range of unique creatures with unique needs, giving me the confidence to handle all types of dog situations. I work from home and am able to tend to pets all throughout the day. I love interacting with animals and I try to work them into any part of my day that is possible. “This was my first experience with Rover. I selected Lucyna because of her reviews and location. I took my very active German Shorthair Puppy over for a meet and greet. He and Lucyna’s German Shepherd hit it off immediately after their sniff and meet. Lucyna and I agreed it would be a good fit. We left our dog for two nights. Lucyna kept me updated on how my dog was doing including cute pictures. She took both dogs for walks (not an easy chore considering their size and energy level). She treated my dog as one of their family. When we picked him up he was “sort of” happy to see us. My surprise! I thought he would be head over heels! He obviously loved and felt loved by their family and dog. And because they played constantly, he came home and immediately napped. A good sign. Definitely recommend Lucyna to take care of your favorite canine. This was the first time our dog had been away from us and now I can feel comfortable traveling while I leave our dog at his new home away from home.
