So I selected Heather bc of her vet tech background and her “no-fear” technique training. Heather did an overnight stay to start build rapport for an upcoming longer vacation. Much to my surprise, both cats took to Heather right away. Her fear reduction techniques worked well. I could not believe the chummy photos she was sending me on her first stay! About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: I have been volunteering with animal rescues since I was in high school along with dogwalking in my hometown. I have spent the past three years in college volunteering with the local animal shelter walking their dogs to relieve them of time in the shelter. Once booked your baby becomes part of my routine and will not change unless you specify. I only work with 1 pet at a time, unless it is same household as I believe you hired someone for your baby to spend time with. I will take pets to any play dates, appointments, etc as organized or approved by the client. I ensure pets are safely buckled in my vehicle while driving should your fur family want a ride or to visit a local park. I always provide waste bags, bottled water, and treats (with approval) for my clients.

From walks, baths, feeding and playtime, I’m experienced in taking care and having fun with dogs of all ages. My dog in particular was a senior and she dealt with arthritis and liver disease, which would limit her ability to do certain things like long walks and going upstairs, or even eating.
