About: From an early age, I always had an empathic heart towards animals. I grew up in the Caribbean where a copious amount of stray animals roam & inhabit our island. Our problem as a community started with not prioritizing safeguard measures to control the population of our animals. And as a result, the animals suffer. Education and resources are big players to combat that, and as a young child growing up in that environment, the need to help and care for animals got instilled pretty quickly. So I grew up very sensitive to the plight of animals who needed help. Which is why I believe dog walking/dog sitting in NYC is so vital, traditionally as apartment pets living in NYC. Space and access to it is a commodity, and with the working class leaving home every day with these pets at home I can understand how important it is to get these pets outside and to exercise them and give them attention. Also during my time fostering multiple special need animals back when I was in college, & caring for sick animals opened up my eyes to the value of quality care and time. Many a time while I was fostering, I noticed the animal shelter running out space to house and support animals who needed help and shelter. Which was actually how I came to fostering. I couldn't necessarily adopt at the time, so instead, I temporarily offered up my space and attention to special need animals who needed support. And I loved every minute of it. I loved taking pictures and would be great updating owners on the status of their pets. I'll even take short video clips/recordings keeping owners aware on whats happening with their loved ones. Living in the city teaches me on a daily basis how important communication is so that being said I'm quick to respond to texts and emails, so if there's any questions or concerns I'm very easy to reach. Again all breeds are welcomed. I have experience with taking care of neo-natal newborn kittens to my dear former pet "Morpheus" Rottweiler who was 105lbs of sweetness. A pet to me is like family, and you can 100% expect that quality level of care. We were traveling through Providence and had to keep our dog Cookie with her for two days consecutively and this was our first time with her. She absolutely made sure Cookie felt at home with her and also provided him with food ,walk ,toys plays etc. Cookie usually has anxiety issues at times so we were bit picky about choosing the right kind of day boarding for him. But Anely was a perfect choice.Though she was sitting few more dogs on those days but that never became an issue for our Cookie, so needless to say she is also expert at her job. It was because of Anely that we could enjoy Newport and other attractions of RI so much without having to worry about how Cookie is doing. She also sent us hourly updates with pictures over texts. About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

My love for animals alongside learning to care for them is not only in my blood, but began at a very young age. I have 10 pets of my own at home! Cats, reptiles, and spiders. While my cats are too attention demanding to have a dog of my own at the moment, I LOVE being around dogs whenever possible, there’s no dog too big or too small for me! This why I decided to join Rover! I’m also experienced in working with older, nervous, and young animals. I’m so excited to get to know your pet(s). I work from home in social media & marketing and create my own schedule, so I am available for same day visits and can work from wherever! I’m basically always on call for those last minute drop ins. I also love being outdoors and set aside time to go for walks every day, so taking a dog along with me would make what I already do even better. I have experience with ALL types of animals so there is no request that will be new to me. My own home has reptiles, cats, arachnids, and I’ve even fostered dogs’ Have something specific your pet wants? I’m all ears! There’s nothing to big, small, or “weird” for me.

About: Retired military medic used to have and to help friends and battle buddies when their animals had to go when they had to go overseas or on TDY work trips and things like that also help friends and things too. I am very by the book so if you leave me a list of rules and what needs to happen I'll make sure it gets done. I have a very open schedule. I work from home so if you need me at any point in time I can make it fit within my schedule. For the safety of your pets and things, I usually like to do a quick visit to make sure that we're going to get along. I know if it is a cat that a lot of times trust needs to be earned with them and that you can't just pull them out from wherever they're hiding a lot of times it's earning their trust for them to be come out and be friendly. You do not force it on them.
About: I have two dogs of my own that I’ve had since puppy-hood. Ever since I was a kid, my heart would joyously melt in front of any and every four legged friend. I love getting to know other animals, and take care of them as if they were my own. I got my start pet sitting by looking after my friends and neighbors’ dogs and cats on occasion. At present, my longest cat sitting gig was 3 weeks straight in which I stayed with my fur friend for ~6-8 hours a day just to keep her company. I work remotely, so my workstation is mobile. In this was I can make most pet-sitting tasks and hours work— while assuring your pets have company, enrichment, and supervision. (As an aside, I go by both Vera and Amanda and use them interchangably) I work remotely 10am-6pm monday-friday. Ideally, i prefer to visit pets and take care of them anytime before 10am, but my calendar is very flexible. My workstation is mobile, so if desired, I can keep your pet company for extended periods of time during the day. I’m also available all day on the weeknds. I have 2 dogs that I love dearly and walk 2-3 times every single day at routine times. I brush them frequently, I strap on little booties for their paws daily to protect them from the hot pavement, and I play with them to their little hearts content.

About: I love pets. In my experience, pets our part of family and I will treat them as such. I have care for pets for over 30 years and am able to handle 5-8 dogs. I do pet care full-time. I am always home watching the dogs and cats, making sure they are safe. Pets will never be home alone and we follow strict food or medicine schedules if necessary. Pets are always being watched. They will never be left home alone when boarding. We have a fully gated yard that is impossible for dogs to escape.

About: I've taken care of 3 kittens (now cats) for 5 years. My loved ones all know the care and love I have for them; I see them as my children. I am very attentive with them - scheduling vet visits, playing with them every day, clipping nails, bathing, etc. I haven't had the opportunity to care for other pets, but am experienced with handling shy, extremely playful, and loner-style cats. I'm a grad student so 9-5 during the weekdays is difficult, but anytime after that (before like 10pm) or on the weekends after 10am or before 10pm would be ideal! I have indoor cats that have plenty of space, toys, water, food, and sturdy windows for them to stare at. If I visit your home, I will spend no more than 1hr playing with your pets (if they want!) and changing food/litter/water as needed.

About: Hi! I have been pet sitting with my non-reactive pup Sylvie for a number of friend's cats and dogs since COVID (usually as a favor) in and out of the New England area. I work at an arts non-profit in PVD and can drive. I can pet-sit and do limited amounts of dog training. Right now I work in a dog-friendly place 10 minutes from my home and my partner is working from home. We like going on hikes and to the dog parks. I would not bring a client's pet to my workplace, but a pet would always have someone with them at all times or at least not be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I am most flexible on weekends and for overnight care. I have a fenced yard, a crate, and multiple rooms in the home with pocket doors that can split a larger room into two if needed. We usually let pets have free range of home or section off the living room depending on the temperament and needs of the pet.
