About: I’ve never not had a dog to care for. I love them deeply and enjoy providing them attention while their owners are away. I know that’s a stressful time for them and I want to help make it less stressful for all parties. I am a teacher and home all summer so there will rarely be a time when your pet is alone. My schedule is pretty flexible but when I’m caring for a dog I ensure that is my number one priority. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space for the dogs. I do have a two wonderful, gentle Cavalier King Charles’ who love spending time with other dogs but also enjoy sleeping all day.

“Melissa and Dan were absolutely wonderful with my dog, Princess Leia. She’s a small terrier and very much a COVID puppy, so she hasn’t had a lot of exposure to other dogs. I was a bit nervous about leaving her while I went out of town for my 50th high school reunion, but Melissa and Dan put me at ease right away. From the start, my plan was to have Leia stay with them for two nights, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. They have a lovely fenced yard and several dogs of their own, which created the perfect environment for Leia to safely and gradually get used to being around other dogs. Dan works from home, so I knew she was getting plenty of attention and supervision throughout the day. They kept me updated with several photos and messages showing how Leia was doing, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she was settling in well and getting comfortable in their home and with their dogs. When I picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and seemed to have genuinely enjoyed her little “vacation.” I highly recommend Melissa and Dan for dog sitting.
