It gave us such peace of mind to know that our little guy was being well loved and taken care of while we were away. We will definitely be using Dave to watch Harley in the future❤️”

“Paul and Arnel are the best! They took excellent care of Lola and treated her like family, great communication with numerous updates throughout her stay. She is already looking forward to her next stay.”

This was my first time leaving him with someone who wasn't family, and I was so anxious that she made the whole process so easy with pictures and updates when I asked for them, and she ensured I had answers to questions I hadn't even asked yet! “Mark watched my dog while I was away for Labor Day weekend. It was my first time ever leaving my dog with someone other than a close friend, and I never felt like I needed to worry about him while he was with Mark. His yard is fully fenced and secure, even for my 12lb dog who seems to always find a small hole to get out of. Mark was incredibly welcoming to Wilson and sent me pictures of him playing and relaxing while I was gone. I would definitely use Mark again and recommend him to others!”

“Makenzie was wonderful! She stepped in when another Rover had to cancel last minute. She really took good care of Chalcy, giving her lots of treats, chin-rubs, and playtime.”

About: I have been around cats my entire life. Growing up on a farm around barn cats, to having my own cat in adulthood, I have experience with cats of all ages, temperaments, and personalities. I feel comfortable administering medications as needed, scooping litter boxes, brushing, feeding, and giving your cat(s) the love and attention they need while you're away.

“Kathleen was wonderful with our three cats. As per usual with cats, each is a little peculiar. Kathleen adjusted to each cat easily. Clearly an animal person! Made amazing progress with our shyest scaredy-est cat. The social one was spunky and happy when we got home thanks to Kathleen giving her the play and attention that she needed while we were gone. And the feral one got fed so he was happy too.”

“Emily is fantastic! We went on a 10-day vacation and scheduled 4 drop-in visits to check on our cat. This was my first time using Rover, and Emily was very professional and helpful, explaining how the drop-in process works; she made me (and kitty) feel comfortable right away. She was always prompt and sent detailed reports and photos, making me feel at ease while we were away. I'll definitely hire Emily again when we go out of town!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jayne. She provided exceptional care for my sweet kitty and went above and beyond to communicate with me me. I looked forward to the updates and pictures from her visits. Jayne is professional, flexible, trustworthy, and MOST of all provided loving care for my girl.”

“J was great, very communicative and sent photos and updates of our two cat babies every day. They left the house spotless, and the cats were chill and happy when we returned. Thank you again, and would recommend :)”

“Anna was amazing. Just from the photos she regularly sent us (we can never have too many photos!) our cats looked very happy and absolutely comfortable with her. She gave us great updates after each visit. We will absolutely ask her to watch our cats again!!”

“We felt comfortable leaving our cats for the first time with someone who wasn’t family after meeting Adnan and seeing how comfortable he was with them. The daily updates and photos made us feel he was taking great care of them. We arrived home to two happy kitties.”

“Claire took great care of our two new little kittens when we spent a weekend away. We really appreciated her help all weekend, and knew after meeting her that the kitties were going to be in good hands. We would love to have Claire and her kiddo help out again in the future when the need arises!”

“Melinda took excellent care of our pets and home. She was communicative, dependable, and very accommodating when our plans unexpectedly changed. She even gave our cat, Tiger, her inhaler without any issues—something we were a bit nervous about, but she handled it with ease. We felt completely confident leaving everything in her hands. We'd absolutely work with her again.”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love and respect I have for animals. I don't see pet care as just a job—I see it as caring for a member of your family. Every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to get to know them so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family member. I believe in patience, kindness, and clear communication, and I'll always treat your pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I'm happy to provide the care that's right for them. I'm also comfortable administering medications as directed, cleaning litter boxes, refreshing food and water, and helping maintain your pet's normal routine. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care and give you peace of mind while you're away.

“This was our first time leaving our cat, Rosemary and Allison helped her adjust and made sure she was comfortable. Allison had a strategy for introducing our cat with her own cat and I felt confident she would be in good hands. We were given lots of updates and pictures while we were gone which was great. We will definitely be booking with Allison again in the future!”

“Ashley did a great job with our two kitties. She popped over to our house prior to our trip to meet the kitties and know her way around the house. We appreciated the daily updates and photos, as well as cleaning up the messes the kids had made. Any concerns we had were taken care of. Thank you Ashley!”

“Lynden was wonderful to work with -- very caring and compassionate -- and it was such a relief knowing she was making daily visits while we were gone.”

“Heather is an enthusiastic pet sitter! I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a cat sitter on rover, but she fit the bill! Her own experience with special needs cats and her obvious love of them means I will be calling her back.”

About: All my life, friends and family have called me cat-like, and I get it. I get cats. I've been trusted to care for them through the years, because I understand their nature and know that they need us, despite their independent nature.

“My puppy loved his time with Anastasia--he was visibly excited every morning when I dropped him off, Anastasia sent photos and videos of him and his new pals having fun throughout the day, and he was thoroughly exhausted when I picked him up at the end of the day.”

“Sam was fantastic, very accommodating, and clearly experienced with dogs! Our pup can be very anxious when meeting new people and pups, but took to Sam and the other pup very quickly. She came home happy and tired! Thanks Sam!”

“Emma and Kenzie are the sweetest and take such good care of my fur baby! He is a highly anxious, energetic Aussie and can have difficulty meeting new people. However, after a few minutes Sage felt right at home and now doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. They send you pictures and updates at the end of the day and are very flexible. Highly recommend! Bonus, your dog will come home clean!! :)”

“Seth was super responsive, communicative and professional. While we struggled to find a Rover receptive to caring for our dog that doesn't play well with others, they quickly read the description for our dog and without preempting, let us know the accomodations they would take to ensure our dog had a stress free stay. They obviously knew how to take care of dogs well, including rather particular pups like mine. We were so grateful for Seth and felt very comfortable leaving our dog in his care. Next time we are in the area and need pet care, we will definitely go to them again!!”

“Adnan really came thru for us. He was quick to respond to our last minute request for daycare on a Saturday. As soon as I met Adnan I felt comfortable leaving our girl in his care. We got some great picture updates and couldn’t be happier.”

“Kris is always knowledgeable flexible and personable. He has a great love for dogs and it shows his daughter and he even play piano for the dogs..My babies are always well taken care of and I have no worries that they are always in good hands. Thank you Kris! Youre the best”

About: I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to working with dogs. My life revolves around dogs and has for many, many years. I run my own pet services business, Hounds of Love PDX, and bring a lifetime of experience in all areas including rescue, handling, walking, daycare, sitting, fostering, transporting and volunteering with local rescue organizations, as well as for Oregon Dog Rescue and Dove Lewis. I'm a small dog and senior advocate, and work with dogs of all sizes. I’ve always had an affinity for sighthounds(Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, etc), and understand their unique and sensitive nature well. I always put dogs first in every aspect of life, and feel they’re all part of my extended pack, and treat every dog as such. Safety is absolutely the top priority for me when working with pets. I’m always watching, listening and paying attention to their body language. I have a thorough understanding of dog behavior and know that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and that not all dogs are extroverts. In fact, many are quite the opposite. I’m naturally hyper-vigilant, yet focus on remaining kind, calm and confident when working with dogs, especially when out in the world. I’ve completed a variety of trainings with dogs over my lifetime, from canine good citizen, to flyball, to advanced therapy dog training. I’m Pet CPR + First Aid certified, as well as bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates. I always carry a well-stocked pet first aid kit in my vehicle, as well as water, bowls, treats, blankets and travel crates so as to always be as prepared. I’m professional, reliable, punctual, responsible, trustworthy and pride myself on practicing clear and transparent communication. I'm located in the East/SE Portland area, also near Happy Valley and Gresham, and I service most all surrounding areas. In addition to working with dogs, I'm also a part-time jewelry artist and I work out of my home studio. I make my own schedule and usually, always available. I can schedule around most everything. At my home, I have three small rescue dogs that are a bonded pack. We utilize pet gates in our one level, ranch style home, and dog run fencing in our large, fenced backyard. Open to small to small/medium dogs for boarding and daycare.
“Julie and Barry are an amazing team ... quickly tuning into Tashi's personality and habits. When we came to pick him up, he was so relaxed and comfortable that he greeted us at the door as if we were visitors to his home, with Barry beside him. Clearly he was treated as family.”

“Gus had a great time and came home happy and ready for snuggle time. He seemed very comfortable as soon as he arrived, and when I picked him up he seemed at ease with Alexandria. I will definitely bring him back.”

“They treated my dogs like their own. Even bathing them when they got a little messy. They sent photos & always responded when I was checking in. They asked many questions about routines & lifestyles to make sure it was a good fit prior. I will definitely be booking again :) thank you for caring for my dogs 🩵”

“Amazing! I feel so lucky to have found Mark! Clovie loves it there. She comes back to me happy. Since she started going, she has been doing even better with listening and following cues! Mark is so flexible, understanding and super easy to work with. Thanks Mark, you’re the BEST!”

“Hayleigh was wonderful taking care of my pup! she can be a handle full sometimes but Hayleigh always has a positive attitude and my puppy gets excited when we pull up.”
“My dog Olive was so comfortable and eat ease right away at Camp Oz. Makenzie really knows her stuff about dogs and I am truly impressed with how they run their daycare. 10/10 do recommend!”

My schedule allows me to provide dependable pet care while balancing my family and work responsibilities. On the days I work, I'm typically available after the afternoon/evening. On my days off, I have much more flexibility and am generally available throughout the day. I'm also available on weekends! If you have specific scheduling needs, feel free to reach out. I'll do my best to accommodate you and your pet's routine. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. “Makenzie has been such a blessing for my girl Beretta. She came over to meet her before our first walk and has been on time each walk. Thank you, Makenzie!”

About: I've had the privilege of caring for dogs for over a decade. I have experience administering medication, walking, cleaning and playing with puppies and middle age dogs. I am a full time artist with quite an open and flexible schedule. I am available during the day during the week and flexible during weekends. I love playing and spending time with my own cat, catering to her needs and spending time together. I have no issue crating other's dogs if asked.

About: One of my passions in life is pets and caring for them. As a graduate from Carrington College in veterinary assisting I learned valuable skills such as understanding animal behavior, CPR, nail trims and administering medications. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hampsters, lizards, fish, frogs and feel comfortable with nearly any type of pet. What I bring to pet care is a strong connection to animals, I feel a sense of responsibility and need to care for them and be their new best friend. I will always talk to pets & their owners when I see them on a bus, walking down the street, or in an outside restaurant. I am vegan, as I feel that all animals should be treated well. I do not impose my views on anyone but am happy to talk about it and offer advice if asked. OUTSIDE REVIEWS Heather took care of my young and active miniature Australian Labradoodle Maggie for 3 nights. She stayed at my home and did an amazing job. I came home to a calm and happy dog and my house was just as I left it . Maggie loved her and she loved Maggie. I felt 100 % confident that she was in good hands. She has experience with animals, loves them and has even had vet tech training in the past. Previously, when I left Maggie with a sitter for 3 days she didn’t eat and lost a pound, but with Heather she was just as I left her. I was delighted. Heather gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 I am free just about any time and duration, and can go anywhere that Tri-Met can take me if it's an hour or less travel time. I will take your dog to a park if it's within walking distance, or walk around the neighborhood, or play/run around in the yard or house as well.
“Anna has taken great care of my adolescent dog. Penny is still figuring out the transition from puppy to dog and can still be pretty nervous at times, but Anna has taken great care of her whether it is walks or play in the dog park or at home. I definitely recommend Anna! Penny is an angel too 🐶”

“Anika was amazing! I really appreciate how they were so responsive and were able to accommodate my last minute request. I highly recommend Anika for all your pet sitting/walking needs!”

“Jenni is great. She has helped us get our high energy dog out for walks while we are at work. She is patient with our little pup, and he always seems happy on days they walk. She always takes great pictures of our dog, and is very communicative about what is going on with our dog. Would definitely recommend her.”

About: Animals have always been part of my life — from horses to fish, and most importantly, dogs. For the past 2+ years I’ve been a foster with the Portland Dachshund Rescue, caring for everything from energetic puppies to seniors with medical needs. Through local dachshund meetups and rescue work, I’ve become known as a trusted safe space for small dogs in the Portland community. What sets me apart is the blend of heart and hands-on skills: • Experience with senior dogs, medical care, and even injections when needed. • Specialized understanding of dachshunds and other small breeds. • A home set up with secure fencing and stairs for tiny dogs’ safety. • The flexibility of working from home most days, with the option to bring pups to the office on others. I treat every guest like my own — with patience, love, and individualized care. Most days I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of company and attention throughout the day. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I go into the office, but I can often bring a guest dog with me if needed, so they won’t be left alone. Because I only host up to two small dogs at a time (20 lbs and under), I can keep routines flexible — from regular potty breaks and short walks to cuddle breaks on the couch. My schedule is designed to give your pup a safe, consistent rhythm while you’re away. Whether your pup is staying at my townhome or I’m caring for them in yours, safety is always the top priority. My home is rescue-approved with secure fencing, pet stairs, and even an outdoor ramp in progress for tiny legs. Guests are always supervised, indoors and out. If I’m in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I’d want for my own. I understand the trust it takes to hand over your keys, and I’m happy to follow any security routines or send photos so you feel comfortable. My goal is simple: peace of mind for you, and a safe, happy experience for your pet.
About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve had family dogs growing up and had a dog of my own in my early twenties, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Around 2020, friends and coworkers started asking me to house sit while they traveled, and that’s when I realized how much I genuinely enjoy caring for other people’s homes and especially thier pets. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities... from tiny Chihuahuas and miniature Poodles to Huskies, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans. I’ve also spent some time with cats, hamsters, bunnies, and lizards. Unfortunately I have retired for caring for cats due to allergies. I know that every dog is different. Some want to play nonstop, some love long walks, and others just want someone cuddles. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’ve even helped reinforce basic training, taught a few fun tricks, and worked on some very simple behavioral habits when owners have appreciated. I believe consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement go a long way. When your dog is with me, they’ll be treated like my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your best friend is getting plenty of attention, exercise, affection, care until you’re back home. I’m currently a surgical technology student, and my classes are scheduled in the mornings, which means I’m available most afternoons and evenings for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and quality time with your pets. Trusting someone with your animal is a huge deal. I am big on personal integrity and respect. I know every pet is different, so I like to stick as closely as possible to the routine they’re already used to. Whether that means long walks, playtime in the yard, keeping up with feeding schedules, or just hanging out on the couch together, I’m happy to do whatever helps them feel comfortable while you’re away. Safety is always my biggest priority. I’m especially careful on walks, pay attention to each dog’s personality and body language. This means, my phone is away… unless I sneak a really cute picture of your pup. I also know how important it is to trust the person staying in your home, so I’ll treat your space with respect and leave it just the way I found it. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos because I know I’d want the same if someone was watching my dog. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away worry free.
“Anelys is so wonderful with my 2 dogs! They are always so happy and excited to see her. She communicates very well and sends great pictures. She gives daily updates and lets me know if I should have any concerns. She’s SO caring and reliable. A true angel to my dogs.”

“Kena was great with our difficult pit bull, she followed instructions well and problem solved when our dog would not listen well. When she left he was a tired mess and slept through the night!”

About: I am a respectful female pet sitter, ready to sit your pet next! 🐶🐱 There is no job too big I adore all animals! Any shape or size! I promise to give endless belly rubs and always ensure a safe environment for your fur babies! I have had my sweet dog Sue for 9 years and recently taken in a wonderful cat named Navi! Because of that, I experienced with both cat and dog care and pride myself on being a calm, trustworthy presence around your loved ones, providing frequent updates so you never have to worry. I am responsible and willing to take on any task! I am currently a freelance photographer who has a lot of free time in between gigs. I want to be more active and involved in the lives of animals. My schedule is always evolving but the one constant is that it is flexible so I will always be there to check in on your furry friends! I love all animals and I understand some animals come with some special needs. I’m a firm believer in reading body language. If your pet needs a marathon fetch session or just a quiet cuddle on the couch, I’m there to follow their lead. My own dog is an older senior girl who requires specific medical attention and care throughout the day so I am experienced with both younger and older pets and the occasional special circumstance care they might require.
“Nicole did a great job taking my dog for walks/play at the park. I came home to a happy tired pup. She’s a good communicator, quickly responds to any questions, and reliably showed up when agreed upon. Will definitely book with her again.”

About: Aloha, My name is Miranda Kaleiopu. I love all animals (but mostly dogs). I’ve had my own pups over the years, and each one has held significance in my life. Currently I have 3 pets. A chiweenie, Siberian husky/german Shepard mix, & a Domestic Bust tabby kitten. They are all the sweetest bunch. My little dog can be more vocal, but he is all bark mostly (little man syndrome in my opinion) but also just protective. They all have never attacked other animals or harmed other animals. My pets are sweethearts & I’m not just being biased. I do have little ones (3 & 7 year old) as well. They love animals too & enjoy playing with them & helping sometimes. Besides experience from taking care of my own animals & my past rover clients, I’ve actually worked at a vet clinic for over a year. I do have more knowledge now (but ofc I am not a vet) but I do feel more confident now than I did previously. I do live in an apartment, but it has a dog park. I will be taking them there a couple times besides walking. Let me know if you want them to just go for walks. For boarding, I would like for you to provide a kennel (if you have one), bed, a toy, and enough food to supply your pet till pick up day. For walking, I can only do evening walks unless it is on Saturday or Sunday. I will have a more open schedule starting in Sept, but currently I’m open on the weekends and around work hours. I will make it work. I just do the normal day to day plus whatever the pet may need. I do prefer for owner to bring their pet, pet bed, bowls, & a toy or something for comfort.
“Thanks so much Cassidy for taking good care of Archie like always so appreciate your care of him and making sure that he has all of his needs met! I’m so grateful of your attentiveness and flexibility to make sure that my little guy has the best experience while I’m away. You’re the best!”

“This was my first time using rover and I was a bit nervous leaving my dogs with someone that I didn’t know but Bobby and Linda made me feel very confident in their ability’s to take care of our dogs. They gave great updates with pictures and notes on what they did that day. I will recommend them to others and use them again in the future.”

“Kristen is fantastic! This was the second time she cared for our dog Watson while we were away, and we couldn’t be happier. Her communication is excellent, with thoughtful updates and great photos sent to us throughout his stay. Most importantly, Watson clearly loves spending time with her. We’re so grateful to have found someone we trust!”

“Dave is amazing! His calm and loving demeanor really helped our anxious Dorkie settle down right away. After our trip, Harley came back home a happy pup. It gave us such peace of mind to know that our little guy was being well loved and taken care of while we were away. We will definitely be using Dave to watch Harley in the future❤️”

“Sarah was amazing, and my pup Bingo did great! This was my first time leaving him with someone who wasn't family, and I was so anxious that she made the whole process so easy with pictures and updates when I asked for them, and she ensured I had answers to questions I hadn't even asked yet! I will be using her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone! So happy I found her.”
