About: Since I’ve been old enough to remember, I’ve been around animals. I have cared for dogs and cats of all kinds for years. Friends and family have trusted me to care for their pets while they were out of town or busy. I can do a multitude of tasks from bathing to walking! About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

My living situation doesn’t allow for me to have other animals in my home. “My experience working with Tommy was awesome from the start. He was attentive and answered all my questions quickly. My dog Berry is protective and during the meet and greet he was very patient with her. He was able to accurately read her body language and reacted accordingly. Once she was in his care I received constant updates on how she was doing, including pictures and videos! She had so much fun playing with Omar and the other dogs that she didn't want to come home! “Left our medium sized dog with Hannah for 5 nights for a last minute trip. She was very prompt and consistent in communicating about procedures and how my dog was doing during her stay. Luanne came back exhausted (in a good way) from playing with the other dogs and slept all day the next day. Hannah made sure to introduce all the dogs one by one so they can get comfortable with each other. We will definitely book Hannah again if there is a need.”
