About: The first dog I ever met was a stray my family found in the winter—she was trying to stay warm under my dad’s truck. We had just returned from cutting wood and happened upon her all curled up and shivering. I begged my parents to keep her and am grateful they did! We named her Maddie and it was through caring for her that I learned how to properly love, train and take care of animals. I knew early on that I wanted pet-sitting to be a big part of my life. About: Being a senior makes me old school, like being exactly on time or a bit early. I subscribe to the Dog Whisperer tenet of being ALPHA and pack leader to dogs in my care. A dog in a pack is a happy dog. I only use positive reinforcement. Ex.: dog pulling on the leash can be fixed by changing directions every 4 steps to the left, walking in a square, this encourages the dog to slow down and watch his human. Dog hair is a welcome addition to a life well lived, that's why my dogs get furniture and bed privileges. One fact about my dogs i pay attention to is how many sips of water they take. On a very hot day I've seen 30-40. This helps me know easily how my pet is feeling so I can react accordingly. Maybe time to put the soft Frisbee away! I'm fully retired, and rise early, so morning walks are easy. Breakfast is next, and 1hr later another walk outside. I like to prep a bag to take to the park. My fav is Schiller Park in German Village. I don't own a pet currently, I've had some health issues that are now resolved. Having been an owner twice in my life has given me many many experiences so I am flexible.

About: I have been watching since I was 20 years old. I watched friends dogs, siblings dogs and I used to have a Jack Russell beagle mix. His name was Milo. I work Monday through Friday, but I drove a truck. I’m on the road all day so I have the ability to come home. Check on the animals play with them. Feed them walk them throughout the day. I usually get off at 4 PM. No matter if I’m in some ways home or the animals are at my house I love to go out for walks with dogs and play with pets in general pet them. Let them sit on my life and just spend time with them so they never feel lonely.

I have extensive experience with animals and have worked at a dog boarding kennel in the past in addition to growing up with pets. I have worked with aggressive dogs and am comfortable reading a dog’s cues to prevent escalation. I currently have a Bernese mountain dog who is always down for a play date and a cat who tolerates her antics haha. Bonus- I’m an ER nurse, far from a vet tech, but good for med admin if needed! I have excellent availability throughout the summer and am open to caring for your pets seven days a week! My schedule is highly flexible Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Mondays and Thursdays, I look after my two young grandchildren, which means I will be hanging out at home with them. If your pet loves a lively, family-friendly environment, they will fit right in on those days; otherwise, I can easily tailor my focus to match their preferred routine! Your pet's safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have a spacious fenced-in backyard perfect for safe outdoor playtime and bathroom breaks. Your furry family member will have plenty of company here, as I have two friendly dogs and a welcoming cat who are all completely accustomed to sharing their space with new guest dogs. Whether they want to run laps in the yard, socialize with my pets, or just find a cozy spot to relax, my home is a secure and loving environment.
