“Summer was an absolutely wonderful sitter for Tycho and Kepler! They stayed with her for 5 days and 4 nights, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She sent multiple photos each day and kept us updated, which we really appreciated. It was clear from the start that Summer took the time to read our dogs’ Rover profiles. She came prepared with thoughtful questions at drop-off and even reached out when Kepler started chewing on a deer antler, just to double-check with us. That level of attentiveness meant a lot. Tycho and Kepler got tons of playtime with her own pets, including her dog Morty and her cats, and they clearly had a great time. About: I've owned and loved dogs all my life. I hate to leave my dogs at a kennel and think home dog sitting is a much better option. My goal is to make sure dogs don't feel abandoned when left temporarily, but rather give them the experience of a joyful vacation with "Grandpa Ron". I've almost never found a dog who didn't like me and have never found one I didn't like. I'm a widow, retired and living alone. I have plenty of time to devote to dogs who are left in my care. About: I have a sweet beagle that was rescued 7 years ago. I am fully responsible for his care, including feeding, walking, bathing, nail trimming, etc. I always check him for ticks after visiting a park and know how to safely remove them. I enjoy going for long walks, especially in summer, so would be glad to give your dog exercise. My kids have had goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and ducks, which are all fun to play with, and I would be glad to care for your less-typical pets, if needed. I have even cared for lizards and snakes. I am a teacher, so have loads of time available in the summer. During the school year, I am available most weekends and after 4 on weekdays. I always keep dogs on leash when walking them...you never know when a squirrel or other dog will come by or how they will react.

About: Update June 1, 2026. I have taken a part-time job and right now I can only accept cat drop in requests . Unfortunately I can’t commit to dog walking because of this part-time job unless it’s on the weekend. I am answering as a pet owner. I am hoping to start working as a pet sitter/dog walker soon. As a kid we had birds and hamsters, then graduated to cats when I was about 14. As a young adult I usually had up to 4 cats at the same time. When my kids were in high school, my husband introduced me to dogs by re-homing a dog named Lucy. We still have her. I had never had dogs before but I am so glad I did not say NO to hubby at the time. We have 2 dogs now but no cats. I do miss having cats and hope to again some day. I left my job of 34 years and would love to do something I have been wanting to do for a long time but never got around to. I am happy to care for cats too! At my house we have invisible fence to keep the dogs from leaving the yard, though our younger dog needs to be on a long lead because he is so excitable and cannot always be trusted to stay in the yard. We also have invisible fence inside to keep both dogs out of the kitchen.

About: I grew up with 3 dogs (2 rhodesian ridgebacks, and one mutt). When my family travels, I often house & pet sit the dog and cats. I have experience walking dogs of many sizes, and know basic commands. I am also comfortable with cats, as I grew up with them as well. I work from my home, so I have flexibility to walk around my daily meeting schedule. I truly miss having a dog of my own, but have a tricky travel schedule that does not allow it now :( I usually know my meeting schedule a few days in advance, and in general it is pretty regular. I can usually end my day by 4 pm and start earlier, around 7 am. Looking forward to working with you and your dog!

“This was my fur baby staying overnight only twice in 91/2 years kels husband picked him up he was 20 minutes early which was perfect kels sent many videos & pictures of my doggy just having his sweet Old time he played with their cat poor cat wore him out when he got home he slept 10hours thst morning i HIGHLY RECOMMEND KELSY she was sweet very easy to talk with & the funniest thing was my 80pld dog went over there and slept his big butt on her couch &:she had absolutely no problem with it this couple is 109% reliable, loving, patient & I will be keeping them in the future they're fantastic”
