“Jennifer, Thomas and their girls took such good care of our pup. They sent frequent updates and photos throughout the visit, and we could instantly tell how comfortable our dog was in their home. Cannot recommend them enough!”

“I found Jane on Rover last minute we were lucky she had space to take Kali for the weekend. First time for us to leave our dog with anyone so we were a bit nervous. Jane put us at ease and our dog Kali had a wonderful time playing with other pups all weekend long! Jane sent updates and photos and videos of Kali throughout her stay and it really put our mind at ease. Next time we can’t take Kali with us for some reason we will not hesitate to drop her off at Jane’s again.”

The Meet and Greet beforehand was a great experience and the pictures and texts that Cipriana sent during Buddy's stay were very much appreciated. Buddy will be staying again in the near future. Thanks, Cipriana”

“Victoria is great! We’ve been leaving our dog Gimbal with her for a few years and recently left him with Victoria for three weeks. We loved the multiple updates with a photo and a story every day, this made missing him a lot more tolerable, and Gimbal was happy as always to be there!”

“We have boarded our dog with Amy and Chris for a few days when traveling. It was our dog’s first boarding experience and everything went very well. Both Chris and Amy were very attentive and understanding. Alta even got a playdate! Communication was quick and easy. Thank you again!”

“Jennifer was absolutely fantastic! Great communication throughout, sent pictures and a little summary every day. Definitely the most comfortable I’ve ever felt leaving our dog with someone for a longer period of time.”

“We had a family medical issue and was able to book Jacqueline quickly. Our dogs are both rescues and it matters a great deal to us who we bring into their lives. Jacqueline immediately made us, and our dogs, feel comfortable and within 5 minutes of being with them, our eldest was resting in her lap. Jaqueline sent constant photos and updates and we are very grateful to have found her and will for sure book her again. TY again, Jaqueline. That last note was from the pups!”

“Katherine was a great sitter. She really loves dogs and my dog Tyson had the greatest time her and her dog Tilly. They got along really well. Thank you so much for loving my dog for the weekend! It's so comforting to know your dog is having a great time while you are away.”

About: I’ve worked in animal welfare for 20 years and have experience with every size, breed and need! I’m comfortable administering medication and most importantly, I love animals so much that I’ve dedicated my life to them :). I work full time from home. I have flexible hours and usually go on several walks around my neighborhood a day. The longest I’d be away from home ranges from 2-4 hours and that can be adjusted based on your pets’ needs. I have a fenced yard and lots of love to give! There’s plenty of space in my house for crate(s) and I also welcome dog snuggles if they are allowed to sleep in the bed. I don’t have any other pets in the home but have lots of friends with dogs if yours likes the company.
“Simon watched our little pup while we went away for the weekend. The two of them became fast buddies and we were grateful to know our little guy was with someone he was so comfortable with.”

“Sophia was lovely! We felt very comfortable leaving Bernie with her, and confident that she was in good hands. Sophia gave frequent updates, was easy to communicate with, and helpful throughout the planning and drop-off/pickup. Bernie had a fabulous vaycay, thank you!!!”

“My dog had a great time, we were very nervous for it being our first time leaving our dog, and Maria made us feel comfortable and reassured us that our dog would be fine, he was. Thank you Maria and your mom!”

“Victoria went above and beyond to take care of our kitty—over the holiday season and regardless of a blizzard that made travel difficult, she showed up! The updates and photos were so appreciated and thank you for bringing in our packages and deliveries too. Highly recommend and will book with her again!”

“Alexa was wonderful with our cat and angora rabbits. She was very responsive and kept us up to date each day while we were away, which was very appreciated. I will definitely book with her again in the future”

“Elizabeth is a perfect communicator and made me feel my cat was in great hands the week I was away. I could tell from her reports that she really understood and appreciated my cat, and that they had a really nice time together. I give Elizabeth my highest recommendation, and will definitely be reaching back out to her when I'm next out of town!”

“In November my previous Rover pet-sitter found full-time employment so I needed to find a new sitter for my amazing cat Huckleberry and quickly because my husband and I would be traveling over Christmas week. I immediately started my search for local pet-sitters on the Rover app. When I read Arthur’s bio I was immediately struck by his focus on cats. This was not something I had seen before as cats typically seem to be an afterthought or at least second to dogs in most pet-sitters bios. I contacted him right away and asked about his availability for Christmas week and could he come by that weekend for a meet and greet. He said yes to all and the rest is history! Long story short, he took great care of Huckleberry. He didn’t just drop in and feed him, he really played with and enjoyed him. When our flight got canceled Arthur had no issue taking on another shift with very short notice. I can’t say enough good things about Arthur, he really loves cats and even shared product recommendations that worked with his cats. I would definitely book him again.”

“Rose was wonderful with my house and with my patch. She left the house clean and neat, and she left the patch with big smiles on their little faces. I would highly recommend her.”

“SO LOVELY!! Was fast to respond about a last-minute booking request and so so good with the cats! Will definitely book next time a sitter is needed :) thank you, Jamie!”

“So happy we found Laurel! From her response time, to her thoughtful questions, you can tell she really cares about the pets she watches. She was very professional and prompt, and we appreciated getting the check-ins with photos through Rover. I will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

About: I love caring for cats of all ages, from kittens to seniors. I especially love playing with more rambunctious cats. I've lived in several situations with two or more cats in which they had to be slowly introduced or their interactions managed, and I'm confident in reading cats' body language. I think it is so important to be patient with cats and pay attention to their individual wants and needs. My own cat is very calm but cautious with other animals.
“Sophia was fantastic. She was very communicative, attentive and trustworthy. Everything was left neat and clean. We had one little blip and then she went well beyond the call of duty to make up for it. She took amazing care of my kitty. I would absolutely use Sophia again!”

About: I Work nights! I am off Thursday and Friday nights. I've rasied my 80lb. Female dog from when she was 4 weeks old to about 6 years. I'm very active and love to take my dog out for runs. Very disciplined and have taught my big girl to behave politely in NYC. I've taken care of huskies and smaller dogs like chihuahuas and poodles for neighbors as well! I work overnights and just moved to an Tamnersville. I would love to walk or just spend time with a dog. My dog is home on staten island with family and I miss spending time with dogs so much! Hygiene and cleanliness at home are priority. A lot of canine care is knowing what each dogs' wants and needs are. Each dog will communicate to you what they want and need. Communication with the owner is key along with ensuring the dog is well fed and stimulated!

“Kim did an outstanding job caring for our cat, Nellie. I enjoyed the videos and the conversations. Kim was clearly building a nice relationship with Nellie who does tend to be shy. Additionally, Kim took good care of our plants and diligently followed all feeding and other instructions.”

“Cipriana and Pamela were a great team that provided excellent service. They were very thorough in understanding my pets' needs, which put my mind at ease while I was away.”

About: Currently grieving the passing of my sweet cat Addie. I’ve taken care of cats my whole life and walked dogs professionally in NYC during college. I love befriending animals of all kinds and providing them with care and the services they need. I’m great at reading the vibes each animal gives off and meeting them where they’re at to create a safe and nurturing environment. I’m a screenwriter with a flexible schedule who loves to spend time with animals as a side gig. Because of my flexibility, I’m available for one-off visits and ongoing sitting. As a bit of a helicopter cat mom myself, I know how important it is to pay close attention to an animal’s routine and specific needs. I read and follow rules and requests carefully. I know how vulnerable it is to allow a stranger into your home and to care for someone you hold dear. I take the responsibility seriously.

About: I would love to take your dog for a walk or hike in and around the Woodstock area. I have many years of experience owning dogs and cats, and dog and cat sitting for friends since I was a kid. I have also spent time walking dogs at animal shelters and am trained in pet first aid and cpr. I love big dogs, little dogs and anything in between :) I'm usually available during the day and some evenings and weekends. I love to hike and would also be happy to hike with your dog. I'm passionate about health and wellness and natural living. I'm originally from the UK but have been living in NY for over two decades. I live in the Woodstock area with my two daughters, our two rescue dogs and our rescue kitten. I’m usually out walking dogs in the morning and working from home in the afternoons. My dogs love to play with other pups and we enjoy going on long walks or taking care of pets in our home. I’m also available for drop in visits at your home, or for your dogs to stay at our home while you are away. I always keep dogs on the leash and make sure we get plenty of time outside. I have plenty of dog toys and beds in the house for playing and naps.
About: I will keep you updated throughout the day letting you know how your pet is doing. If you'd like, I can even send you pictures showing how happy your pet is. I freelance in film production which allows me to be flexible with days and time. I have a wired sleeping schedule too which will allow me to go whenever to watch your pet. I make sure my roommates dog is always walked, fed, loved, played with, and above all, has water. I have a natural caring gift for all animals.

“Jane is wonderful! She went out of her way to help us when we had some issues with the app and with scheduling. She was clear and kind with our dog who can sometimes be a little anxious. Our pup felt right at home as soon as she walked into Jane’s house and was happily exhausted by the end of the day. Thank you, Jane! We will be back soon!”

About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.
“Amy and her husband Chris took great care of my six month old puppy for the day. It was an early drop-off and they were incredibly accommodating (and patient when my puppy then cried like someone had died after I left). Amy was very responsive over text and I felt like my girl was in extremely good hands! Would recommend!”

“Rosalie was SO GOOD and patient with our nervous chihuahua. She sent great updates and he had a lovely time in her home and fenced yard. We highly recommend her for dogs of all sizes! :)”

About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.

“Amanda was an amazing sitter for our dog Honey! She was thoughtful, communicative, flexible on timing, and Honey seemed so happy and calm when we picked her up. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. If your dog needs a playmate, my dog, Jackson, may be a good fit. My cats - depending on their mood - like to lounge in the sun, pounce on the occasional toy, run up stairs, and hunt for treats I've hidden for them.
“This is our 3rd time using Eleanor for Sparky’s care. And we already have her scheduled again for a week in March. She continues to exceed our expectations. She has a genuine interest in Sparky and they both adore each other. We consider ourselves lucky to have made this connection with Eleanor.”

“Jacqueline was very friendly and communicative, and Bunsen took an instant liking. We received photos of her well-being during her stay and of her mile walk. Jacqueline’s home is conveniently located in a popular historic town, making drop-off/pickup easy on the way to/from Hunter Ski Resort from our hotel. Bunsen was well cared for and happy. She was also so tired, that she managed to rest during the long car ride back home! We would book Jacqueline again.”

“Marielle took great care of my little Zuzu! My puppy started the day sad about me leaving her there and by the end she was totally bonded with Marielle! She was also totally tuckered out so she clearly got plenty of exercise.”

About: I grew up in a cat household and became a dog mom as soon as I left home. I absolutely love all of the cats and dogs I’ve been fortunate enough to meet in this life. I raised my pup, Grumble, from 3 weeks old until she left this world at 11 years old. I am very familiar with the range of needs a dog will have throughout life, from teething to play to mobility assistance. I'm fully available in the winter as my regular job (gardening) is seasonal and won't be picking up again until later in the spring time. I can be flexible to your pets needs and more than happy to follow any directions you provide me with for their optimal care and contentment.
About: Hello! My partner and I have dog-sat for friends many times, but the request doesn’t come frequently enough! We’re happy to host your pet and treat it as if it were our own. We work nearby our apartment and can walk your dog during the day. We are fine with pets on our furniture and in our bed, but will respect any training you have in place. We’ll joyfully take your pet on long walks and adhere to feeding schedules. I have trained my family dogs in the past, and are happy to teach your pup a few new tricks! We ask for well-behaved, house-trained dogs OR crate-trained provided you have a crate. We’ll adore your pet completely while you’re away with all the attention you would provide to be sure it doesn’t get too lonely without you! Happy to send through photo updates so you can sleep easy knowing they’re in good hands. I have been working from home and accommodate just about every dog’s schedule! Generally, most of the dogs we sit are walked 2-4 times a day and fed twice. We have a spacious and secure 2 bedroom aparment and are generally home all week, with lots of lounging around on the weekends as well. We always prioritize your pet’s needs above all else and will comply with their typical schedule.
“Kimberly was amazing! Very attentive to my Macie and reassured me when leaving my pup for daycare for the very first time. Macie loveed her and have a wonderful day at Kimberlys! We're looking forward to booking again!”

“My dog absolutely loves Jesmine and Channon’s place. She always looks to be having a good time. Today she didn’t even want to leave. These are good people and I look forward to my pup staying with them again.”

“Venetia showed up on time (a little early even to get the lowdown on my dog!) and helped burn some puppy energy! She took my 1 year old dog on a nice nature walk with beautiful pics :-) She was very patient with some naughty behaviors we're working on (jumping!) and her calm demeanor put my boy at ease to go off with a stranger. She responded promptly to my requests and was VERY thorough with getting all of Reshi's information. Will be using her services again soon and would def recommend Venetia for your pets needs :-)”

About: Hi, I'm Marceline! Growing up with a wildlife rehabilitator for a parent, I was surrounded by animals from day one. From bottle-feeding baby raccoons to gently caring for injured birds, I learned early on the patience, empathy, and responsibility that animals deserve. That lifelong passion turned into a career of caring: I spent 4 years at a cat shelter, helping to socialize, medicate and find loving homes for many cats. Beyond that, I've volunteered extensively at Farm sanctuaries and animal shelters, gaining hands-on experience with dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, and more! Whether your pet is playful and energetic or shy and sensitive, I'm dedicated to providing calm, attentive, loving care that meets their unique needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your animal family. You can count on me to treat your pets like my own - with respect, reliability and plenty of love. Let's connect - I'd love to meet you and your pets! Because I have an open schedule, I'm able to dedicate focused time throughout the day for walks, feedings, play, medication and whatever unique care each pet needs. I plan my day around their routines, not the other way around - whether that means early morning visits, midday potty breaks, evening cuddle time, or sleepovers. I'm used to structuring my day with animals in mind, especially my own cats and hermit crabs. Being attentive to animals' behaviors and needs is second nature to me, and I always make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and consistency throughout the day. When you leave your pet in my care, you're not just hiring someone to feed or walk them - you're trusting me with a member of your family. I take that responsibility seriously. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment is at the heart of everything I do. I closely follow your pet's routines, dietary needs, and any medical requirements to make sure they stay happy and healthy. Im experienced in handling a wide range or animals - including those with special needs, and I always keep a close eye on behaviot and well-being When I visit your home for your pet, I strive to create a low-stress environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and loved. From cozy resting spots to familiar routines and gentle handling, I make sure your pet feels right at home with me.

“Cipriana was great! This was Buddy's first time boarding after adopting him five weeks ago and it couldn't have gone better.

“Sean was so great with our dog. He proactively messaged us each day and gave us updates on how our dog was doing. Our dog came back well rested and happy. We will definitely be using him again!”

“Rosalie was amazing! She treated Belle like a little princess. She gave wonderful walks which Belle loved. Rosalie was very attentive. She sent lots of pictures and was an excellent communicator. We will definitely use her again!”

“Amanda and her husband took wonderful care of Jack. I received daily updates and pictures which helped ease my anxiety about leaving him for a few days. He was so spoiled! You can tell they are dog lovers and treated him like he was theirs. I will be using them in the future and have already booked Jacks next stay without hesitation.”

“Candice was absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!! This was my first time leaving my baby boy with anyone! I was kept updated with messages and pics. Would definitely recommend and/or book with Candice again.”

“Volha was fantastic! She would update us with photos everyday. Volha asked us about our dog’s( Lisa) routine to make sure she was most comfortable during her stay without too many changes. We will definitely ask Volha again to watch Lisa in the future!”

“Mildred was AMAZING watching our dog Sandy. She was highly responsive, very accommodating, and gave Sandy all the love and attention she needed. She sent photos and updates throughout her stay. Would highly recommend Mildred to anyone, and would definitely book with her again!”
