About: My background in cat care began in The League for Animal Protection of Huntington, NY in 2007. I volunteered there as an animal care associate, working with a variety of kittens and cats from many different walks of life. All of the cats were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with socialization, feeding, and even medication distribution. In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house- and cat-sitting job. After that, I entered the full-time workforce and adopted my first cat and love of my life Avery. Avery has since passed, but my home is now occupied by his feline brothers (in spirit): Handsome and Bubbles. They bring me more joy than I could ever imagine! I've always had a soft spot for cats, and find them to be such a delight, whether they're the affectionate type or even more aloof. I'd love to meet your cat or kitten and give you the peace of mind that they're cared for and loved while you're out on the weekend, working, or away on vacation!

About: I've always had a special connection with dogs. Ever since primary school, I volunteered to walk all my neighbors' dogs and would stay to play with them for hours—tug-of-war and frisbee were our favorites. I've walked dogs of all sizes, sometimes up to three at a time. Getting my own puppy was the best thing in the world for me, and I naturally have endless patience for animals. Throughout college, I walked and sat for my piano professor's dog for years—around the neighborhood, and I also drove him to dog parks and beaches. On top of that, I've volunteered at an animal shelter, cleaning dog and cat rooms and socializing with the animals. I currently can't have a dog of my own because I fly in and out for work. That's why I'm doing this part-time — it's never an assembly line for me. Each dog gets my full, individual attention, and I truly make friends with every one of them. I'm a sound designer and composer working on contract-based stage productions, which gives me a flexible schedule. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine — I walk dogs at least three times a day, feed them as many times as requested, and make sure they get plenty of playtime outside of my work hours. Since I'm not working a rigid 9-to-5, I can easily adjust my day around each dog's needs, whether that means extra cuddles, a longer walk, or a spontaneous trip to the dog park. Plus, because I fly in and out for work and can't have my own dog right now, caring for other people's dogs is something I genuinely look forward to and prioritize every single day. I live in a first-floor condo apartment in a neighborhood with lots of green areas — perfect for dogs who love quick potty breaks and longer sniffing walks. I let dogs free roam throughout my home and they're absolutely allowed on furniture. I treat every dog as if they were my own, which means lots of freedom, comfort, and attention. Since I do this part-time, I never have more than two unfamiliar dogs at once, so each dog gets a calm, focused environment. I'm extremely respectful of their space and routines — I follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions to the letter, and I always leave things cleaner than I found them.

To say my husband and I were shocked would be an understatement! Watching Nessa happily run off to play filled this mom and dad with so much joy. That message never came—because she was apparently having the time of her life! When we returned to pick her up, Nessa was excited to show us all of her new friends. It was obvious she had been well cared for and truly enjoyed her stay. We could tell that Marla treated Nessa as if she were one of her own, and there is no greater compliment we could give. We only wish Marla lived in Connecticut instead of New York. Finding someone who genuinely loves and cares for your pet as though they were part of their own family is incredibly rare, and we would trust her with Nessa again in a heartbeat.”

I typically have class from about 8:30/10:30 AM until 2:30 PM, with breaks throughout the day that allow me to come home or stop by for potty breaks, walks, feeding, and check ins as needed. I am also home by around 3:00 PM every day, which allows me to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening providing attentive care, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and maintain their normal routine. At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced-in yard for supervised outdoor time, exercise, and play. About: My background in canine care began at the Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center in Huntington, NY in 2008. I was employed there for several years as a dog walker and socializer, working with a wide variety of dogs and puppies from many different walks of life. All of the dogs were rescues, and so special care needed to be provided, with exercise, playtime, feeding, and even medication distribution. After working at the shelter, I found myself at a few local grooming parlors, working as a bather. As you've probably experienced, most dogs do not love being bathed and groomed, and so I would try my very best to make them comfortable in the unfamiliar situation they were in, taking the time to check in on them frequently and give them lots of reassurance and loving. Patience goes a long way! In January of 2015 I had my first two-month long house and pet sitting job. However, since then I've been working a full time office job and have been unable to enjoy much time with canine companions. I will regularly pet sit for close friends and family, but I'm ready to spend more time around furry friends! I'd love to meet you and your pup and ensure that they're properly taken care of and loved while you're out on the weekend, working, or away on vacation! I typically have class from about 8:30/10:30 AM until 2:30 PM, with breaks throughout the day that allow me to come home or stop by for potty breaks, walks, feeding, and check ins as needed. I am also home by around 3:00 PM every day, which allows me to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening providing attentive care, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and maintain their normal routine. At my home, pets have access to a fully fenced-in yard for supervised outdoor time, exercise, and play. I provide regular walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention based on each pet's individual needs. I work a hybrid job, from home Monday and Friday office tues-Thurs. all fur babies baby will love the attention and affection they will get. In my home they will have a safe room to sleep or stay in if they want quiet or they can mingle around the house. In your home I would follow your instructions as to where they are allowed to be. At my home our yard is only fenced on 3 sides while it is a large space they would be on a lead at all times.

About: Animal lover since the day I was born! I have a 5 year old cat named Lilly who is extremely friendly with other pets so I can bring pets to my house. I worked at New York’s Best Pets on Dyckman 200 Street before it burned down unfortunately and there I took care of feeding, grooming and playing with the pets as well as customer service. I’ve taken care of many dogs in the past, from walking to dog sitting. I have given prescribed medicine to dogs when they needed it and have trimmed their hair when asked to, as well as given them a full shower and a good groom.
