She has watched our dog, Wilhelmina probably 4-5 times now and I think the best way I can explain how I know Willy is in the BEST hands when we have to be gone is that on our last drop off she saw Sam and pulled and pulled for her. When I left the building she never looked back. So I know that she enjoys her time and is well cared for and that makes leaving her a litttttle bit easier. Sam is incredibly responsive, kind and overall I believe someone who really loves dogs - which is exactly what we can hope for when entrusting someone else to care for our fur babies. 11/10 - would recommend ... and truth be told is she ends up booked when I need her, I will likely regret this review (just kidding of course)!”

About: Hi! My name is Sophia. I’m 24 years old, originally from Miami, FL, and I’m currently a graduate student in New York City studying Opera Performance. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. Both of my parents are veterinarians, so I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and animals of all kinds. As a kid, I often went to work with my parents, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience caring for pets. I’m comfortable around animals with all sorts of personalities and needs. I have a special soft spot for senior pets since I’ve had the privilege of watching my own childhood pets grow old. Back home in FL, I have a 14-year-old Mini Pinscher named Snoop and a 19-year-old fluffy tortoise shell cat named Miley Cyrus, who I visit every chance I get. I also recently adopted a 12 year old tuxedo cat named Ziggy, who lives with me here in the city. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just wants a calm companion while you’re away, I’ll care for them as if they were my own! I’m currently on summer break from grad school and live with my partner of 5 years. We both work remotely, so your pet will almost never be left alone. I’m also a bit of a homebody, so I genuinely enjoy spending time at home with the pets I’m caring for. When classes resume in September, I’ll mostly have morning classes while my partner continues working from home. He is also a huge animal lover and very caring and responsible. We live in a pet-friendly building in Hells Kitchen with several parks nearby, and Central Park is only about a 15 min walk away (for pups who enjoy longer walks and adventures). We share our home with a sweet 12-year-old tuxedo cat named Ziggy. He’s very friendly and playful. He gets along well with both dogs and other cats (especially kittens!). Whenever a new pet stays with us, I always introduce them slowly. I like to give everyone time to adjust to each other’s scent before meeting face-to-face, which helps make the transition much less stressful. I supervise all introductions closely and am always prepared to separate them if they seem uncomfortable or need more time. Having grown up around a lot of animals, I’m very comfortable reading both dog and cat body language, which allows me to stay calm, recognize signs of stress early, and handle introductions safely. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. If your dog or cat is comfortable around cats, I think we’d be a great match! Every pet is different, so I always take time to get to know their personality and what makes them feel comfortable. Whether they want to play, go for walks, snuggle, or just have their own space, I’ll follow their lead. My goal is always to make them feel safe and loved, and if they’re the cuddly type, they’re more than welcome on my couch or in my bed!

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs. I am currently a cat owner as well and understand the complex needs that come with pet ownership I currently work a remote 9-5 job and have pockets of free time throughout my day. Happy to drop in or visit your pet as needed! I do not like to participate in off leash activities (unless there is a fence) nor doggy play dates unless it’s a pre-established activity (the dogs have known each other for awhile and often interact!)

About: I take care of cats, dogs, and rabbits! My apartment is very pet friendly and I am able to relocate to pet sit as well. I love to go on walks so dogs that like/need long walks (or even runs!) are more than welcome. I usually work 2-5 hours at a time so I am rarely gone for more than that amount of time, and if I have to be one day I will disclose that prior to make sure it fits in with your pups care. Because I don’t work remotely, I’m able to be fully present with the pups when I am home. I have a clean and warm apartment. I allow cats and dogs on all furniture including my bed. I also have a litterbox for cats, and allow pee pads for dogs in the apartment.

About: I have always been so passionate about dogs and taking care of dogs. Growing up I volunteered at a local shelter (shout out to Best Friends Animal Shelter! Also where I adopted my dog!) and absolutely loved it. I have always found such fulfillment and joy taking care of dogs and I feel truly confident I am a great dog sitter. I am also the main caretaker for my dog Bode (pictured in the profile pic!) and have taken care of friends and family’s doggies whenever was needed. From training and playing, to grooming and bathing, I am your girl! I am currently a student from home and a yoga instructor so I am flexible! I would be open to discussing any scheduling requests with you :) My goal as a dog sitter is to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for the pets in my client’s home. I will be sure to follow any instructions as to feeding routines as well as ensure there is always fresh water accessible for them. I love any playtime/physical activity as well such as playing fetch and going on walks. I am totally equipped to handle any bathroom situation your pet has as well as being able to monitor their bathroom break needs. Any health care needs as well will be taken very seriously, whether it’s giving medication, changing bandages, or providing any treatments I ensure the pet’s health needs are met! I will keep a close eye for any signs of distress or disconcerting behavior and be sure to notify the owner promptly. Lastly, I offer companionship and comfort to these pets in the absence of their owners.
