My partner and I live on 30 acres, giving dogs plenty of room to explore. We also go on regular walks and hikes, which are a great way to burn off both physical and mental energy. Of course, not every dog wants an adventure. If you have a senior dog or one who prefers to take it easy, we’re just as happy to spend the day relaxing together with plenty of attention and snuggles. We have two friendly pet goats that are accustomed to being around dogs. That said, your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. If there’s any uncertainty about how either the dog or the goats might interact, the goats stay safely in their fenced pen while we have dog visitors. I work remotely from home with a flexible schedule. I usually spend a few hours working in the morning, then I’m outside for much of the day working on projects, and spending time with our canine guests. I’m very adaptable to your dogs needs. About: I have worked as a recurring dog sitter for several families over the past five years, each with a different breed of dog (Weimaraner, Schnauzer, Dachshund). This has equipped me with the specific tools and knowledge to provide exceptional care grounded in experience. Additionally, working with a wide range of breeds has afforded me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the varying behaviors and needs of different dogs. I deferred law school for one year to work on my creative writing. As a result, my schedule is very flexible and conducive to working around your family's unique pet care needs. I take pet health and safety vary seriously, practicing the same standards I use personally to keep my own pets safe. For me, this means maintaining a clean and tidy environment free from any potential hazards (e.g., not leaving chocolate at a level a dog could reasonably reach; making sure gates and doors are closed). In addition to maintaining a safe environment, I try to be emotionally tuned in to the animal I am watching. For instance, when the Weimaraner I watch gets anxious due to people walking past the house, I talk to her in a soft voice and pet her until she calms down. If I zip to the store, I will close the blinds so she is not in a position to be triggered by this stimulus.

The best thing about caring for animals, is seeing their personalities, what they consider manners, and seeing them light up when they're being respected on their terms too. The best part of my mornings on my family farm, is taking a hike with the Bassett. Neither of us are satisfied with our morning until it happens. She needs it, and deserves it. While I'm away from her, I need to hike, or I get soft I ask owners what their pets needs and personalities are. What they consider manners, and if they are tricksters, what to expect. About: I've been around dogs my entire life. At about 5 years old, my father adopted my grandfather's two Beagles and they quickly became my best friends. Today, I have 2 dogs at home, one that's 17 and one that's 7. And still they're my best friends. For as much as I love dogs, it really does feel like they love me back. Whenever I go over anyone's house I hear " Wow he never behaves this well around people normally." Each dog is so unique and the most fun thing for me is learning what makes them wag their little tails! I work from home from my apartment and only have one roommate so I'm incredibly flexible when it comes to scheduling. I'm sure that I could make just about anything work given a small notice. I work as a dental hygienist Monday–Thursday, and offer pet care Fridays through Sundays. My limited availability allows me to provide focused, reliable care on weekends. Pets in my home are always supervised in a calm, structured environment. I have one well-trained, timid dog. Due to an unfenced yard and nearby road, all outdoor time is on leash for safety.
About: I have taken care of my two black labs (one puppy & one senior) as well as the pets of neighbors, family, and friends. I am looking for some extra work during my seasonal breaks. For work, I am a ski lift operator in the winter and a climbing course attendant in the summer @ Bromley Mountain. I work seasonal jobs in the summer and winter months. Spring and Fall is my availability to walk, feed, play, and keep your dog engaged. I will make sure that the dog is given food, water, playtime, and attention at said times :). I will also make sure that feces is picked up.
