When introducing a new dog to our pets, we take things gradually and don't expect everyone to become instant best friends. We allow them to get comfortable with each other's presence, supervise their interactions, and give them separate spaces whenever needed. Every dog has a different personality and comfort level, so we let their behavior guide the pace rather than forcing interaction. I always want pets in my care to have a safe, comfortable environment where they can relax and be themselves while their people are away.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was very little, however I just got into taking care of them professionally a year ago. I have provided medication, walks, potty breaks, play time, etc. I am currently looking for a long term job, and I am saving for a car so my availability depends on my mothers schedule. About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. I only recently, in the past couple of years, started taking care of other people’s pups, and I really enjoy it. I treat all pups as if they were my own. I am retired. I play pickleball quite a bit, but I am never gone more than a few hours at a time. My husband works from home, so there is almost always someone around to accompany your pup. My favorite part of the job is showering pups with love. We have mattresses on the floor and if the pups are willing, we love to snuggle with them. I prefer a meet-and-greet before a first stay so that both the dog and I can ensure we're comfortable together. And I love sending photos and updates! Getting pictures of Spencer when I traveled always made me happy, so I'm delighted to do the same for you. I work from home Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm, so I’m home much of the day and can easily fit walks, playtime, meals, potty breaks, and plenty of attention into my routine. I live on a quiet, tree-lined street with sidewalks and no through traffic, just ten houses from Sublette Park. I love walking the perimeter of the park, so dogs who enjoy walks will have plenty of opportunities to get out and "sniff the puppy newspaper." I’m happy to take dogs for several walks a day depending on their normal routine and energy level. I do leave the house for errands and activities, so dogs should be comfortable relaxing at home alone for a few hours at a time. I have a quiet, dog-friendly home with no resident pets, and I only host dogs from one household at a time. I have a large, fully fenced privacy backyard for supervised play and potty breaks, plus a dog door that can be closed and locked when needed. Dogs are welcome to relax on my large couch, which is always covered with waterproof pet blankets. At night, dogs can sleep in their own crate in my downstairs den, on the couch, or--if they’re well behaved without a crate--on a dog bed in my bedroom. I don’t provide a crate, so owners should bring one if their dog needs it. I prefer to meet new dogs before their first stay so I can learn their routine and make sure I can handle them comfortably and safely. I’m currently best suited for friendly, reliably housetrained adult dogs who aren’t strong pullers, destructive chewers, or determined escape artists.

About: Hello STL pet parents! I am new to Rover but I've taken care of all ages, sizes, and various breeds of dogs since I was young, ranging from Chihuahuas to 110 lb Bouviers. My husband (former dog trainer) and I are the proud dog parents of two friendly rescue chihuahua mixes and we take them everywhere with us when we can and consider them to be our family. We have also had the privilege of caring for a rescue pittie who was skittish around other dogs at first, and a pug lab mix who never met a stranger. I nursed one of my current rescues through heartworm treatment after first adopting her and saw our pug lab mix through chemo when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. I take the care and love of dogs very seriously and believe we owe them the utmost respect. It would be my honor to apply that same philosophy of care and compassion (and fun!) with your beloved family member. I can be available any day of the week, though I prefer notice for weekends. Overall however I can be flexible! If the service is a walk I would prefer that to take place before 6:30 p.m. My yard is fenced in with a privacy fence and if I let dogs into the yard I am always out there with them the entire time. I have two small dogs who are friendly and enjoy gentle playing with others. I'm also comfortable visiting in your home or taking your doggo out on an adventure.
About: I have 10+ years volunteering at Petco cleaning cages and caring for cats. My parents have 2 dogs/2 cats which I helped care for growing up. I have lots of experience walking/running/playing with dogs as both of mine are extremely high energy! I am a current graduate student with early morning availability/evening availability. I pretty open availability on weekends and would be open to holiday work if I am in town as well! My apartment does not suit animals so I am looking to care for pets outside my home! About: I’ve had dogs and cats around me pretty much my entire life, and I’ve always believed they’re part of the family. In our house, Pepper and Lily pretty much run the show! 😊 Pepper is our 8-year-old Maltipoo, and Lily is our 6-year-old American Shorthair cat. They keep us entertained, keep us on schedule, and remind us who is really in charge. I’m retired, which gives me something many pet sitters don’t have as much of — time. I enjoy being around animals and would much rather spend my day with a dog or cat than rush in and out between a dozen other commitments. Over the years, I’ve cared for the pets of friends, relatives, and neighbors. I haven’t done it professionally, but I’ve been a pet owner and animal lover all my life, and I understand how much trust is involved when you leave someone with your pets. A little about how I care for pets Every pet is different. Some want a long walk and lots of play; others are perfectly happy curling up beside you. I’m happy to follow their routine and your instructions — whether that means walks, meals at a particular time, medications, special attention, or caring for an older pet. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and overnight care in your home. My preference is house sitting because I think most pets are happiest in their own surroundings, with their familiar beds, toys, smells, and routines. I don’t offer boarding at my home because Lily has made it clear that she does not appreciate houseguests of the canine variety! 😄 Your home matters to me, too. This is something I feel strongly about because I’ve used Rover myself. We’ve had Rover sitters care for our pets and stay in our home, so I know what it’s like to hand your keys—and your furry family members—to someone you don’t know. I will treat your home the way I want someone to treat mine: with respect, care, cleanliness, and common sense. I’ll follow your instructions, keep things tidy, and make sure your home is secure while you’re away. Most importantly, I want you to be able to enjoy your trip or time away without worrying about what’s happening at home. I’m not looking to simply “check in” on your pets. I enjoy their company. I’ll talk to them, play with them, take them for walks, give them attention, and let them keep me company. If your pets are happy, I’m happy. That’s really what this is about. ❤️🐾 I’d love to meet you and your pets, learn their routines, and see if we’re a good fit. I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule, including evenings and overnight stays. I enjoy being with pets and can give them plenty of time and attention. I treat your home with the same respect I expect for mine. We’ve used Rover sitters ourselves, so I understand the trust involved. I’ll follow your instructions, keep your home secure and tidy, and give your pets attentive, dependable care.
About: I have worked with dogs for several years in various settings. I have previous experience working in a veterinarian office, dog day care, dog walking/pet sitting, and have taken care of dogs in advanced training to become service dogs. Animals hold a very special place in my heart and I enjoy working with them and providing companionship and the highest quality of care! About: Of course you want your fur baby to be treated like family while you're away. That's exactly how I treat every pet in my care -- with lots of love, attention, scratches, belly rubs, playtime, and cuddles! Your dog will also have plenty of opportunities to enjoy our fenced backyard throughout the day. I live with two other animal lovers, my mom and boyfriend, so there are always multiple people around to keep an eye on your pet, let them outside, and give them extra attention. My mom proudly acts as “Grandma” to every animal who comes through our door! My boyfriend, Jacob, is the cuddle king. Even our Sprinkles, who is normally wary of men, has absolutely adored him from the very beginning. I got my first dog when I was 11, but I loved animals long before then. My first official pet-sitting job came when I was just 12, and I've continued caring for animals ever since. I can care for puppies, senior dogs, and everything in between. I'm also experienced with administering medications to pets, both oral and injectable. I've personally experienced what it's like to leave your pets with a sitter and come away feeling disappointed, even a little heartbroken, by the level of care they received. Because I work from home, I can give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. I can provide walks, backyard time, playtime, cuddles, and potty breaks throughout the day, and I can easily turn my attention to your pet whenever they need me. My flexible schedule also allows me to accommodate different routines and the individual needs of each pet, as well as work with your schedule when you're arranging drop-off and pick-up times. If your dog loves spending time outside, they'll love our fenced backyard, with plenty of grass to explore, sniff, and roll around in. We live just blocks from Carondelet Park, too, so dogs who enjoy longer walks will have the opportunity to explore the park and get some extra exercise and enrichment. Inside our home, they'll have room to enjoy both the upstairs and downstairs areas and find a comfortable spot to relax. My home office and “Grandma's” living quarters are upstairs, while my boyfriend and I share the downstairs living space. We also have a door that separates the two levels, which allows us to create a separate space for your dog when needed, whether for safety or just to give them some quiet time and a break from our own animals. When introducing a new dog to our pets, we take things gradually and don't expect everyone to become instant best friends. We allow them to get comfortable with each other's presence, supervise their interactions, and give them separate spaces whenever needed. Every dog has a different personality and comfort level, so we let their behavior guide the pace rather than forcing interaction. I always want pets in my care to have a safe, comfortable environment where they can relax and be themselves while their people are away.
