About: Over the past several years, my love and admiration for cats has grown tremendously. I was visiting shelters, cat sitting for friends, and eventually I fell in love with my own tiny lion and he has become my world. I pride myself on adapting to whatever a cat may need. Am I the just the poop cleaner and food giver or am I a new friend to play with, get scratches from, and snuggle? About: I've done pet sitting/dog walking for over 4 years now. I work from home so I am available to them all day. I live in a spacious apartment with a huge nature scene surrounding it. About: I've been taking care of animals since I was a kid, but I had my first dog 19 years ago. I am very comfortable scooping poo, litterboxes, cleaning up vomit, and checking for abnormal bowel movements and eating habits that may be from stress while you're gone. I'm great at reading a dog and cat's body language, so I am patient about letting them control the speed at which we get to know each other. I love going for walks, and am used to handling dogs on leash that may get reactive to people, dogs, cars, etc. I've worked with horses in the past, so I can handle a large animal getting excited. Mon-Sun, and most holidays I am in the Ann Arbor area I will ask where your pets favorite safe spaces are in their home, where they like to hide, where they're favorite treats and toys are. If your dog just needs to romp in their backyard, I'll follow whatever your home procedure is if they need to be cleaned up after or not. I'll also keep an eye out for indicators of stress: vomit, accidents inside the home or outside the litterbox, scratches or bites on furniture, destroyed toys, etc.
About: I have been around dogs and pets since I was very young. We had a family dog I helped take care of and all three of my siblings have had either a dog or cat that I would pet sit. My roommate also currently owns a puppy that I help out with as well. I am currently a full time student at GVSU and I have a part time job but it is very flexible. About: Besides being an animal lover, I have experience and working knowledge of animal behavior as a former boarding associate at PetSmart. I know that boarding isn't for all animals, and offer my pet-sitting services to those that want their animal to stay in the comfort of their own home. I am comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, and breeds. I like to work with each owner to find out what things are special to their animals while they're away to help both the animal and owner feel most comfortable. I work from home and find that I like being active on my lunch breaks, as well as before and after work. I'm happy to take your animal for a walk, or spend quality time with them in whatever way they enjoy most. I like to first start out my finding out more about each animal, what is their routine, what things do they enjoy doing, and tailor the care to each of them. I also like to identify safety concerns such as, potential escape areas in backyards, known issues with other animals in the neighborhood etc. No one animal is the same, but I'm very good at getting to know each of them individually.

“Rachel was wonderful. She was attentive and caring to my much older dog that recently experienced some trauma in other boarding settings. Rachael helped her to adjust to the transition of staying in a new place and she sent regular photos and reports of her progress. When I picked up my dog, Rachel and her partner provided what felt like honest feedback back regarding some limitations my dog experienced with other animals at their house as well as shared behaviors they observed that I didn’t know my dog did until the two day visit with them.
