About: 15 years of shelter volunteer work plus caring for my own dogs for 16 years. Frequently dog sit for both of my daughters and my son-in-law. After losing my last dog at 17, I would love to provide care, love and walks for yours. I work from home and set my own appointments outside of the home so I can determine precisely when I'll be home. Although I don't have a fenced yard we have a great neighborhood for walks. Dogs should be able to free roam as I don't currently have a crate; or you can provide a crate. Please bring any special toys, bed, etc. that will help your dog acclimate!

About: What sets me apart is that I have real hands-on experience with animals of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve owned both big and small dog breeds, cared for puppies, and also have experience with senior dogs. I'm thoroughly experienced in caring for senior dogs & cats, administering medications, first aid, & wound care. I've fed numerous specialized diets, including fully raw. I adore the puppy stage- including crate training, potty training, & socialization. I'm a strong advocate for socialization that bolsters confident neutrality. A puppy's endless curiosity is so fun to harness! I enjoy giving dogs a balance of outdoor exercise like hiking, as well as indoor mental enrichment like games and puzzles. I'm extremely cautious with opening & closing doors so no animals can slip through a door, check the fit of a dog's collar to prevent potential backing out, & ensure there's nothing a pup or kitty could get into thats potentially dangerous. I have a very strong preference for using martingale collars on dogs for walks to mitigate that risk. I've personally endured the tragedy of my young dog slipping the door and being hit by a car while a sitter was taking care of him- so I assure you I take this very seriously. Building trust with both owners and their pets is pivotal! I'm committed to open communication and honesty. I allow pets to greet me on their terms and understand some animals need a more patient, gentle approach than others. “Anne was a God send! We have two dogs that both had meet and greets with her before our weekend away. Both dogs loved Anne, but we had to make some plan adjustments when one of our dogs developed a rather bad eye infection. Anne was super flexible with our plans and schedule and helped watch one of our pups, Sakari, for the weekend. She provided ample updates throughout each day, accompanied by lots of pictures and videos!! We knew our girl was in terrific hands and never had to worry while we were apart. Sakari is a bit of an anxious dog, especially with new people and settings, but she was instantly comfortable around Anne. She was taken on plenty of long walks and got all the cuddles her little heart desired while we were away. We cannot recommend Anne enough!!! We will most definitely be asking her to sit for our dogs again in the future!”
