“Payton is awesome and she truly cares for my dogs. She takes really good care of them and gives me plenty of updates (pictures, video, and messages) while they're in her care. She is the only one in this area that I trust to watch my dogs!”

“Thank you to Nicole for taking such good care of Shadow. She was very consistent in her updates and let me know how much fun he was having in the backyard. Shadow definitely appreciate the open space to run around and be a happy puppy! Would highly recommend Nicole’s services!!!”

“Jeff was excellent! By far the best Rover experience I have had. He helped me out last minute and was super accommodating and friendly. He communicated with me multiple times a day about how my dog was doing and I could tell her genuinely cared for her well being. He also has an awesome fenced in back yard which is a dog’s dream. I would highly recommend.”
“This was my first time using Rover and I am very happy to have come across this site and even happier to have come across Ms. Estela. We had an absolute wonderful experience with her. From the beginning she was very friendly, helpful, and communicative. She provided updates and daily pictures of Santy and kept us informed of his well being. As much as we were anxious leaving our dog behind for few days, she made us feel comfortable that he was in good hands. There are no words that could describe my gratitude for Estela’s service. I would definitely be using her service in the near future and 100% recommend her to anyone that needs a loving animal care taker.”

“She was great with Rock as she also was very patient with us being delayed by flights. He looked happy over there and well taken care of. Will definitely book again”

“Christin & James went above and beyond with my dog’s exercise needs. Plus sooo many update pics and videos. They let me drop her off last minute while I was dealing with a life changing emergency. And I’ll forever be appreciative of that.”

“Tabatha is a great sitter and I cannot recommend her highly enough! I have a shy cat, Pixie, who is currently mid-treatment requiring daily medication not an easy ask for any sitter. Tabatha handled it all with so much patience and care. She took the time to earn Pixie's trust, gave me daily updates so I never had to wonder how things were going, and closely monitored her eating and litter box habits throughout my trip. Knowing someone was paying that level of attention gave me genuine peace of mind. Her sweet cat Gracie was a bonus, such a gentle companion in the home. If you're looking for someone who will treat your pet like their own, Tabatha is your person. Absolutely will be booking again!”

“We booked with Pamela while we were in town visiting for America 250. She took great care of Riley and it was comforting to know he would be safe and well taken care of during all the fireworks. He did well and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pamela for anyone who needs a sitter in the DC area.”

“This was my second time leaving my rescue dog, Tao, with Rouday, and both experiences have been great. He was understanding of Tao's occasional timidity after being bounced between multiple shelters as a puppy. I also appreciate that he makes dog sitting a family affair, which has been great for Tao's socialization. I'd definitely recommend Rouday to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter!”

“Luisa was incredible with our pup who was staying with her for the very first time. From the consistent updates (photo AND video) to the text updates of how he was managing, she let us have a full trip with a peace of mind! Could not recommend enough!”

“My active pug had a great stay with Colleen and family. I knew he was in great hands and they kept in touch with pics of Vinny and their lab Lily. Lucky to have found them!”

“Tasha is a great sitter, she cared for my 2 babies while I was out of the country. She keeps me updated every day on how they're doing and she provides multiple photos. My babies love her. Keep up the good work.”

“Diego did a great job with our 7 month old puppy during a 2 week stay. It was our first time leaving him so we were pretty anxious, but from the second we dropped our pup off we felt at ease because Gus was happy and comfortable with Diego. We got pictures and videos of him having a nice time thought his stay that reassured us he was having a good time.”

“My Brutus had such a great time with Christian. This was the second time that she has kept him and this time for a week. This was my puppies first overnight stay with Christian and she made it effortless. She was very communicative sent pictures and videos and really took care of my Brutus for a majority of the pictures. He looked happy. 10 out of 10 recommend”

“Becky took great care of our cat Reggie! She followed our care instructions and left the house in pristine condition. Reggie got lots of playtime during Becky’s visits. When we got home we could tell Reggie wasn’t stressed, so we know Becky made him feel safe and loved. We will definitely book her again.”

About: I’m a dog dad of 3, I’ve grown up around all animals. I love my children and I want to be able to help people take care of theirs if they need it. Sometimes I like to bring my wife along to help, if you’re not okay with this please let me know and I’ll make sure it’s only me. I’m currently going to online school which leaves me with a lot of extra time for extra work such as Rover. Outside of taking care of my own babies. I am able to do stop in visits to take care of your fur babies for either a walk, to let them out, or to give them company for some time if they need it.
“Tandy was amazing! we couldn't have asked for a better first experience with Rover. We had to leave for a week long trip and Tandy made sure we were comfortable with our pets being in the best care! She followed our instructions to the detail and went above and beyond to make our cats comfortable. One of them was scared (he is a scared kitty) and she made sure to take the time to friend him and approach him and learn about him. We are so thankful for her help and will definitely will be rebooking her! Thank you Tandy!”

About: I have cared for many stray cats by providing them with food and shelter until I was able to find them loving homes. I also have a cat of my own, so I understand the patience, care, and attention cats need to feel safe and comfortable. In addition, I currently work in an animal hospital, where I regularly handle and care for cats of all ages and personalities. My hospital also offered boarding services, giving me experience in feeding, monitoring, administering medications when needed, cleaning litter boxes, and ensuring cats are comfortable while their owners are away.

“Gina is amazing! She goes above and beyond. She made being away on travel worry free. She thought of things I hadn't and took care of them. She is caring, thoughtful, and loving to my cat. . I'm so greatful I connected with her.”

About: Since a young age, I lived around/with cats and what this has allowed me to do is gain expertise on how cats behave with their manner’s and attitudes that they may possess. Something that has always attracted me to cats. Is their ability to stand on their own in most situations and to display a high level of independence.
About: Thanks for checking out my sitter profile! I've been watching pets across the DC area for nearly 8 years, which includes experience as a walker and housesitter. I'm a dependable animal lover who will make sure your pet is happy and comfortable even while their people are away. I live with my partner in a very dog-friendly house in Landover Hills. While I manage the Rover account, my partner Lou--who is a caring pet parent with animal experience that includes a stint at wolf sanctuary-- also will keep your pet(s) company. We have two pups: the elderly Walden, a pug who sleeps 90% of the day, and Drax, an active mutt who enjoys playing with friends new and old in our yard but also cuddling up for evening snuggles. We have two cats who are friendly with dogs but have access to a dog-free office if any issues arise (so far we've only had adorable introductions as dogs' first cat friends--many nose boops). The house is in a suburban area and has a fenced in, maintained yard where your pup can happily spend their days playing with Drax, rolling in the grass, and sniffing around. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I work from home most days of the week; Lou works entirely from home. We often have guest animals in the house, so are used to a daily routine of breakfast and backyards romps after wake-up, multiple breaks throughout business hours, and plenty of play time and dinner in the evenings. We’re happy to incorporate your pet’s usual routine into ours to keep them comfy. I’m attentive to dogs in my care and take pride in ensuring they are comfortable while their owners are away. While with us, your pet will be treated like our own and get plenty of attention, exercise, and care.
About: I am an animal lover and have had various types of animal companions throughout my lifetime. Currently I am the Farm operator for our Urban farm. We raise ducks and chickens but they are always separate from visiting pups. Only within view for their entertainment and relaxation here on the farm. Yes we are located nearby in the city 🥰 I have a quiet understanding with most animals that I come across and enjoy their company. I have sat for many of my friends and family and am the go to person when someone needs to go out and about but cannot take their pet family members. I am currently focusing on dog sitting and have dedicate my time to being available to meet as many fur babies as I can in the next couple months. I have a room dedicated to pet care which has a greenhouse feel with plants but is fully enclosed in the home. It has a doggy door which leads out to our fully fenced back yard and large dog run with a insulated dog house inside. I also have a wireless camera on the areas which allow me to make sure that everyone is ok at all times. Please note that I no longer accept large breed dogs at this time aside from past clients. I am currently focusing my time on pet sitting. I am always also checking in via webcam on the pups wherever I am. Dog personalities are so amazing and fun to see. I have a double fenced yard to keep your pets safe. Lots of open dog crates and bedding for snoozing. A dog door that allows them some freedom and a large dedicated outdoor dog area for doggie playtime. They also always have access to fresh cool water.

About: Dogs, cats, puppies, seniors — I’ve cared for them all. I’m not just a sitter, I’m the friend your pet didn’t know they needed. I have experience with energetic puppies who need structure, older pets who need extra patience and meds, and yes — I speak fluent cat. Whether your cat is shy, sassy, or secretly runs the house (don’t they all?), I know how to read their vibe and keep them comfortable.
“Amber did a fantastic job! Our cat is incredibly shy, but she seemed well taken care of an happy when we got back home. It was wonderful to see a few pictures of her everyday!”

“Nasheia is incredibly professional, communicative, and so very caring towards our dog Charlie! Charlie has a few special needs in his diet and behavior around other dogs, and Nasheia has handled everything he’s thrown at her. She drops in to our home for feeding and walks while we’re in office a few days during the week, and Charlie absolutely loves her. Nasheia communicates any issues early on, like scheduling or unexpected things happening during visits. She also politely points out when supplies like treats or food are low. She’s forward thinking and that’s a perfect match for us as planners when it comes to our dog. We’d recommend her to anyone!”

“Rita was absolutely amazing with my dog, Natalie! Natalie can be reactive and typically needs time to adjust to new environments and people, but Rita went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable and supported. She took the time to really understand Natalie’s needs, triggers, and what makes her happy, which made such a difference. I really appreciated the regular photo updates and how communicative she was throughout—checking in, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping me reassured the entire time. It’s clear Rita genuinely cares and puts in the extra effort, and because of that, Natalie had a great experience. I’m so grateful and would absolutely book with her again. Thank you, Rita!”
“Thank you for taking care of our baby! Nicole was great - patient with Ethel, who was a little anxious. If we are ever looking for a sitter near DC again, we will absolutely reach out again!”

“I appreciate all of Denisha’s efforts to try to accommodate my dog’s needs. It did not turn out working out but that’s due to my dog’s own personal special needs and needing more individualized special care. Denisha was very patient and honest during my dog’s care. Some sitters do it for the financial gain but I could really tell that Denisha genuinely cares for the dogs that she sits. She was responsive and provided frequent updates/pictures. I really am thankful that she cared about my dog’s comfort and tried to accommodate her needs. I would definitely recommend Denisha!”

“Kuma looked like he had the best time with Irma! I definitely appreciate her taking care of him on short notice for a day trip I had planned. She sent updates of Kuma throughout the day. I would definitely recommend and revisit!”

About: I've always had dogs growing up in southern Virginia. I have taken care of my own pets for the past 10 years, I have a dog and a cat (that acts like a dog). My dog is not spayed, so I have experience with dogs in heat. If your dog is not neutered, I have experience monitoring behavior and separating the animals. My parent's dog is not neutered. As a loving parent of a goldendoodle, pet care is a big part of my daily routine. I am able to work remotely on most days so I can be flexible with my dog walking schedule. Most mornings start with fresh water and fresh food and a walk. I usually walk my dog again during lunch and then after the work day is over in the evening. I understand dog/cat behavior and know when to separate the animals. Moreover if you dog is crate trained, I will use that as their safe space whenever they may be anxious. If possible, please leave an item from home with your scent.

About: I’ve been the designated dog person my whole life: the friend everyone calls, the one who volunteered on campus, the neighbor who actually means it when she says “I’ll watch them.” I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and my Rover clients kept coming back because their dogs genuinely loved it here. I treat every pup like my own. This is their home away from home 💜 Pet care isn’t something I fit into my day, it IS my day. I have a flexible, open schedule which means your dog gets real attention, real walks, and someone who’s actually present. No rushing, no clock-watching. My home is clean, pet-friendly, and always has a furry resident ready to make new friends. When I’m in your home I treat it, and your pet with the same care I’d want for my own. Your dog isn’t just safe here, they’re comfortable.
“Pamela did a great job taking care of our dog on last-minute notice. We really appreciated her flexibility. as a senior dog, she was curious how he would do with other dogs and made sure it was a good fit in advance of our stay. We will definitely use Pamela again in the future.”

About: I believe that every child should grow up with the unconditional love of a pet. We rescued our first to grow up with our adult daughter and our newest addition has grown up with my teenage daughter. Their dogs have ultimately become my dogs because I secretly enjoy their company ☺️ Like Many, Working from home had become the normal and now that many of you are returning to in person work schedules I've decided to care for fur babies that have grown accustomed to the warmth and undivided attention of their companions. I'm free most weekdays. And after drop offs my Koby 🐶 and I go on walks in the neighborhood. And we venture the school's neighborhood at pickup. So in between your pet can be as lazy or as active as he, she or they wants. I have a large fenced back yard for playing and a huge front and back porch for lounging. Our home provides open space and cozy spaces for relaxing.

Right now, my classes typically land around midday, so the mornings and evenings are when I’m best available to help! On most weekends, my availability is flexible towards whatever is needed. When visiting a home, I do my best to maintain order, cleanliness, and comfort while working with a pet. Structure and routine are important, and I'm dedicated to providing animals with the things they need in a timely fashion that minimizes stress.

“This was my second time leaving my rescue dog, Tao, with Rouday, and both experiences have been great. “Malvi and Andrej were amazing with Hudson! He had such a fun time playing and got special, personalized care throughout his stay. I appreciate the lengths Malvi and Andrej go to to make sure all the dogs have a safe and enjoyable stay, and the updates to let me know Hudson was having a blast. Their special touches and going the extra step really show their commitment to the dogs they watch. I would recommend them to anyone!”

“Cal and Kelly were great! Cal is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable about dogs, and was very patient and kind to my nervous dog while he settled in. They sent multiple pictures throughout my dog’s stay and were always super prompt about responding. I will absolutely be using them again!”
“Austin & Majid were great Rovers for Hercules. They were very communicative and ensured Hercules was well looked after. We would definitely book with them again!”

“Bria was great. She helped this first time dog mom feel so relaxed. She took awesome care of our puppy and was very accommodating. She also sent lots of pictures and updates which was so appreciated by the kids while we were away. Bria is definitely someone I will trust my precious pup with again!!”

“Joe was great and we would be happy to leave Dakota in his care again. He was super flexible and provided daily updates which were really appreciated. Dakota made some dog friends and seemed to enjoy his lengthy visit. Joe lives near a wooded area so it was nice for Dakota to be a little bit out of the chaos of the city.”

“Joseph was very communicative and shared pictures of our pups with us daily. He followed all directions we gave him and made sure our pups feel at home under his care. I would recommend Joseph as a pet sitter and would entrust him with watching our pups again in the future. Thanks for taking care of our babies!”

“Meet and greet allowed us to have the pets meet and plan. Our Dogs stay was great. She fit in easily and was happy to play with their family. Pictures daily were cute. We will book again when traveling.”

About: I am a true Capitol Hill dog lover and I have always had a strong passion for animals, mostly for dogs. I have been caring for dogs since I was child, taking care of my mother’s beloved shitzu. Taking care of her helped me acquire basic canine behavior and taught me the responsibility of taking care of a pet. Most recently I raised my own best friend, Gelato an English Bulldog. I gained my breeder experience with Gelato and cared for her and her 6 puppies, until they were rehomed at 8 months. I enjoy taking long walks, which I consider the ultimate stress reliever and best way to exercise. I have no problem getting my hands dirty. I have 20 years of experience in the customer service field and enjoy striving to provide the best experience to my clients. In my personal time I am spending time with my 2 little girls teaching them how to play sports, and of course how to be loving pet owners. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page! I’m currently working part time and will be available to walk most pets during early mornings hours during the week and mid day and evenings during the weekend. I definitely would like to know your pets temperament, and what might scare them. I know they will feel most comfortable at home but if they are with me, I’d like to keep a calm, pet friendly setting for them to be comfortable in.
“Aaron and Paweena were lifesavers. We had a last-min trip and needed to find someone to watch our dog, Nox, on short notice, and we are so glad we found them. It was clear Nox was happy, comfortable, and very well cared for. Honestly, we are pretty sure she was more upset about leaving Aaron and Paweena than she was about being away from us, which says a lot. We would absolutely trust them with Nox again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, reliable, and communicative sitters.”
