My chinchillas took to her immediately. Gus, our fiestiest boy, happily accepted cheek scritches from her and another one of my chins even let her pick him up :) That says a lot about how she interacts with animals because as prey animals, trust doesn’t come easily to chinchillas. She also asked a lot of important questions about their care which I appreciated. She was super responsive and flexible about when I came to pick up my key from her. Born with the most affectionate nature as a Shih Tzu, Niko loves to play and is obsessed with miniature tennis balls. Later on, we felt Niko needed a close buddy to play with. We were lucky to have Hitch in the Thacker family! As a half Shih Tzu and half Bichon, Hitch became Niko's best buddy. They love to play, snuggle and cuddle. Your fur babies are welcome to join our family for a staycation! Maybe join us for walks in the patapsco park; we can go explore nature if your fur babies are interested. We go on daily walks at least an hour a day. If your fur babies prefer to stay cool inside, we have plenty of space and a large rooftop to relax. And of course, lots of toys for your fur babies too. About: My husband and I truly treat pets like family. We’ve cared for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior pets, and I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I’ve taken pet training classes and have hands-on experience reinforcing basic commands and good behaviors. If you’re working on training, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while your pup is with me. I also provide enrichment activities like snuffle mats, puzzle toys, and interactive play to keep dogs mentally stimulated and happy. I work from home full-time, so your pet won’t be alone much during the day. I give regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m also flexible and happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible. They’ll get lots of company, care, and cuddles while they’re here. Communication on my end was sparse due to how busy things were, but Shantia responded immediately when I did message.”
About: Hi! I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have cared for all kinds of pets over the years. Growing up, my family always had dogs, so I learned early on how to handle everything from playful puppies to senior dogs who needed a little extra attention. As an adult, I’ve personally owned small caged pets and currently own 2 cats, giving me a well-rounded understanding of different animal personalities and care needs. I currently share my home with two adopted cats, each with their own unique story and background. With patience and care, I was able to successfully introduce them to each other despite their age difference and differing temperaments—it was so rewarding and relieving to see them become friends! I understand that every pet is unique and deserves compassionate, individualized care, and I treat every animal I meet like one of my own. I currently work a full time job with the military during the week, but am home early in the afternoon to provide care, comfort, and cuddles to my furry friends and yours! I have a spacious apartment with lots of toys and 2 friendly cats to keep tour furry friend company. Walking around my neighborhood is a breeze with pet pickup spots along the way and a safe environment for walks no matter what time.
