“We used Sam to board our dog Mia for the first time recently, and she was absolutely amazing! We just adopted Mia two months ago (she’s a rescue from the south), so we were super nervous about leaving her for a week. At the dog hotel we used to use for our other pup, they literally charged us $4 per photo and we constantly had to beg them for updates. Sam was the exact opposite. Right from the meet-and-greet, she was so attentive and asked tons of questions to make sure she knew exactly how to give Mia the best care. While we were gone, she sent so many updates and pictures without us even having to ask, which gave us total peace of mind. She even handled Mia's allergy medication which was another concern of ours. Plus, her dog Poppy is the absolute cutest and friendliest pup ever! About: Although I wasn’t always a cat person, that changed completely when my brother brought home our cat, Dumpling. Caring for her sparked a real appreciation for feline companionship and pet care. Because she was very sick when we first adopted her, I gained hands-on experience administering inhalers, crushing and mixing medications into food, giving baths, and trimming nails. We needed somewhere for the pups to be while we did a non-dog friendly day. Jade was super responsive and accommodating. The dogs happily walked off with her without any hesitation (I trust them to read the situation). She asked good questions about their care, entertained the pup during the day by introducing her to a doggy walking pad inside since it was extremely hot out. About: I have been always a pet lover since my childhood I grow up around many different species of animals. I had rabbits, small birds, big parrots , guinea pigs, and many stray cats and dogs that my family rescued from the streets of Brazil which is my original place of birth. About: I care deeply for animals in both my personal and professional life! From childhood through today, I have cared for my sweet dog and guinea pig companions at home. I am currently pursuing a career involving animal care & conservation education, so I understand the importance of connection with animals on a multitude of levels. I hope to apply my skills while gaining some experience with domestic species that are less common at work. I have occasionally done drop-in visits for friends & family in the past, so I am excited to get started with Rover now! My work ethic is meticulous and I enjoy collaborating with others. I will pursue a shared understanding of the needs for you and your pets to determine if we are a good match. I am most eager to develop a relationship with your companion that becomes more and more comfortable each visit! Applicable species experience: dog breeds ~ brittany spaniel, shih tzu, labrador retriever, terrier mixes small mammals ~ guinea pig, rabbit, ferret, chinchilla birds ~ ringneck dove reptiles ~ common box turtle, bearded dragon, blue-tongued skink, corn snake, ball python, milksnake, sand boa **I'm not afraid of frozen rodents and mealworms, but will minimize handling of live crickets and other jumping insects :) If you have an animal that I haven't listed, please feel free to reach out! I am open to working with other species if our needs are compatible. I have pretty open availability at the moment as I work on the next step in my career. Feel free to message me with any questions or requests! We can choose timing based on both of our needs. To keep your pet comfortable at home, I will do my best to maintain some form of routine in each visit. I also enjoy coming up with creative enrichment for the animals I care for. We can discuss ways to promote mental stimulation and/or physical movement in the absence of owners, if interested!
About: I had 9 wonderful years as a Dog Mom, and currently work at a doggy daycare, where I get to spend my days grooming and giving lots of love to lots of pups! My home is located right next to a beach, as well as many walking paths and great places to take your pup on an adventure! If your pooch is a lounge lizard and prefers to sit on the couch and watch reruns of Friends, I’m your gal! I also have experience administering medications to dogs that require it. If your dog is a singer, I’ll be sure to be singing right along with them!! “We used Sam to board our dog Mia for the first time recently, and she was absolutely amazing! We just adopted Mia two months ago (she’s a rescue from the south), so we were super nervous about leaving her for a week. At the dog hotel we used to use for our other pup, they literally charged us $4 per photo and we constantly had to beg them for updates. Sam was the exact opposite. Right from the meet-and-greet, she was so attentive and asked tons of questions to make sure she knew exactly how to give Mia the best care. While we were gone, she sent so many updates and pictures without us even having to ask, which gave us total peace of mind. She even handled Mia's allergy medication which was another concern of ours. Plus, her dog Poppy is the absolute cutest and friendliest pup ever! If want someone who will actually give you pup personal, hands-on love and attention, you need to book Sam.”
