I also adopted and lovingly cared for a difficult senior dachshund for years, which gave me valuable experience with patience, senior dog needs, routines, and extra attentiveness. Today I have a large Bernedoodle, so I’m confident handling bigger dogs as well as energetic pups who need exercise and structure. So instead of panicking (though I was close), I turned to Rover.com and found wonderful Bree! I wanted someone who was comfortable giving daily insulin injections to a suspicious "patient." Bree not only handled this task expertly, but she also pointed out an irregularity in the insulin dosage ... an error or either my vet's part or my own (probably the latter). It was a great catch! Bree bonded quickly with both kitties (even the highly suspicious one); she sent me regular updates and photos without my asking; and I returned to an immaculate house. About: Animals have always had a special place in my heart. My journey started with pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family in middle school and grew to volunteering at local animal shelters and working in a boarding kennel to currently working as a vet assistant while at school, pursing a pre-veterinary science degree, giving me experience with animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. About: With dogs especially, I have worked at a dog daycare for 6 years while also doing my own overnights for the last 10 years. I mainly choose to do sitting rather than boarding, but the right dogs would also be okay at mine. I have a fenced in yard and great neighborhood for walking. About: I’ve always loved being around animals and have been caring for dogs and cats since I was about 10. Most of my experience has come from helping family, friends, and neighbors with their pets when they need someone they can trust. About: I have loved dogs since I can remember—I used to read dog encyclopedias as a kid! My own dog and sidekick, Miguel, is a cute rescue with a pronounced underbite. He lives with my family far away, so I am excited to provide services (walking, dog sitting) for pets nearby! Over the summer, I am working remotely and thus have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I am never away from home for more than two hours at a time. About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was a kid, and caring for them is something that comes naturally to me. I’m heading to UMass to study Animal Science and hope to join the National Guard to gain EOD bomb-sniffing dog experience. About: Animals have always had a special place in my heart. My journey started with pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family in middle school and grew to volunteering at local animal shelters and working in a boarding kennel to currently working as a vet assistant while at school, pursing a pre-veterinary science degree, giving me experience with animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. About: I’ve lived with pets for my whole life, and I currently have 1 dog and 2 cats (and 5 chickens!) at home. I have experience pet sitting for all kinds of animals (including ducks!), and all of the dogs and cats I’ve taken care of hold a special place in my heart. I took care of a cat who needed medicine squirted into her mouth each morning, as well as a dog who needed special medicine with her food. Overall, the biggest thing I bring to the table as a pet sitter is my love of all pets, and my dedication to making sure they receive the best love and care while you’re away. I am a college student, but all of my classes end in the early afternoon, and I have plenty of time in the morning to fit in pet care. I will not say yes to taking care of your pet if I don’t think I can give your pet the amount of time and care they deserve. Every pet I’ve taken care of has had slightly different needs and routines, and I always try to stick to that so not too much changes for them. I had a dog who needed a walk 3 times a day, and was super cuddly during the day, so I spent a lot of time cuddly and playing with her. I’ve also had cats who were very shy and nervous, so I made sure to give them space but also room for love if they wanted it. There’s no one way to care for pets that works universally, but I always make sure to feed/walk/play with them and give them the love and attention they need.
