We have left our dog Annie with Karen many times, sometimes for just a night or two and sometimes for over a week when taking longer vacations. We cannot begin to say how much we and Annie will miss Karen and Juni. Karen is the kindest person you could ever meet. She loves dogs and immediately took Annie in as though her own. She is a dog whisperer. Annie loves her. She is truly a remarkable dog sitter and human being. We could always relax when we left Annie with her as we were totally confident in her ability to handle any situation that might arise as well as know she always was providing exceptional care and a happy and loving experience for our pup. As for Juni, Annie loved playing with her, sleeping next to her and just being with her whenever she would visit. Juni is the sweetest, most friendly and happy lab. Annie will miss her terribly. Annie would begin barking with excitement the moment we got off route 6 for Hyannis. This always made our hearts sing. Karen and Juni are simply exceptional. About: I’m a lifetime animal lover, and get along terrifically well with dogs. My house is the go-to for friends and family needing a place for their pups to stay. I am retired with volunteer jobs part-time (2mornings), during the week. I’m never away from home for more than a few hours during which time my dog-friendly feline can either ignore your dog or keep them company. I’m home the majority of the time. Cozy corner in my den seems to be everyone’s favorite hangout and spot for their bed. The ilving room has multiple sunny spots for napping throughout the day. We will take several neighborhood walks a day and if dog and owner are willing, I go to Thompson’s field in Harwich where they can romp.

“Oh my goodness, Kathryn is the simply the best!!! I love my summers on Nantucket but it can be necessary to leave the island briefly at times. And it’s not always easy or desirable to uproot my dogs. My 2 little Maltese dogs (ages 4 and 11) just loved her. One is skittish and one is a ‘senior’ who needs medication; both of them took to her right away and she was so comfortable and capable with their little quirks and needs. She did double duty as house-sitter and doggie care-giver, and I couldn’t be more pleased on both fronts! I came home to happy puppies and an immaculate home. It doesn’t get any better. ??❤️”

For walks, I am available 730am-9am in the morning and 5pm-dusk M-F, and all day Saturday + Sunday. Additional rates may apply for longer required driving distance. Please feel free to message me about a drop-in or walk you need on the weekend if the time slot isn’t showing up when you go to book - it seems like there are issues with setting separate availability for week days vs weekends. I will follow whatever rules you normally enforce (or don’t!) in your house when you are gone and I will stick to your pet’s feeding schedule so that their routine remains regular. Just let me know any special needs before departing. Nothing is too much trouble :)

We cannot begin to say how much we and Annie will miss Karen and Juni. Karen is the kindest person you could ever meet. She loves dogs and immediately took Annie in as though her own. She is a dog whisperer. Annie loves her. She is truly a remarkable dog sitter and human being. We could always relax when we left Annie with her as we were totally confident in her ability to handle any situation that might arise as well as know she always was providing exceptional care and a happy and loving experience for our pup. As for Juni, Annie loved playing with her, sleeping next to her and just being with her whenever she would visit. Juni is the sweetest, most friendly and happy lab. Annie will miss her terribly. Annie would begin barking with excitement the moment we got off route 6 for Hyannis. This always made our hearts sing. Karen and Juni are simply exceptional. My wife, Annie, and I will forever miss them.”

From the very start she went above and beyond — she was open to meeting us in person before the stay so Willow could get comfortable ahead of time, which made such a difference. Throughout the week she was communicative, sent photos, and was flexible in every way. But honestly, what stood out most was how much she genuinely loved Willow. You could just tell. She told us multiple times how sweet Willow was and that she’d miss her — and we believed every word of it. For us, leaving our girl with someone is a big deal, and Kayla made it so easy to feel at peace. We will absolutely use her again the next time we’re on the island. About: I’m a lifetime animal lover, and get along terrifically well with dogs. My house is the go-to for friends and family needing a place for their pups to stay. I am retired with volunteer jobs part-time (2mornings), during the week. I’m never away from home for more than a few hours during which time my dog-friendly feline can either ignore your dog or keep them company. I’m home the majority of the time. Cozy corner in my den seems to be everyone’s favorite hangout and spot for their bed. The ilving room has multiple sunny spots for napping throughout the day. We will take several neighborhood walks a day and if dog and owner are willing, I go to Thompson’s field in Harwich where they can romp.

My days provide good flexibility to accomodate walks, let-outs, and canine slumber parties. I have a 12 year-old Pyrenees/Border-Collie mix, who loves to get out and move around, so I'm no stranger to the 4-5 walks/day schedule ;) Maintaining your trust, and your furry family member's safety will always be top priority. I will always defer to owners and their guidance, since parents know best! Home care will focus on meals, finding comfortable spots in lieu of a potentially awkward new setting, and lots of love and support. I know how anxious I get when I leave Oreo (my pup) alone for 15 minutes to run an errand, so I hope to alleviate those concerns and ensure that your pup will have a blast.
“These two were amazing!!! They have two small dogs who are welcoming and loved my Roxie. They have a beautiful, fenced in backyard with plenty of shade and room for the dogs to get their energy out. The house was nice and most importantly, Roxie was clearly well cared for with belly rubs and attention as she seemed to not want to leave! I loved that they offered a visit first to make sure it was a good fit and their communication was great while I was gone. Will definitely use again.”
