About: I grew up taking care of my 2 collies and helping out with family members pets. I am experienced with managing large breeds and high energy dogs. I am currently on summer break from university, so I have a lot more free time. I am available on weekdays after 11 and weekends I have full availability. Once I return to school in late August, my schedule will change slightly. I’ll be available on weekdays after 1:30 PM and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. About: I have been taking care of animals from a young age of 15. I grew up with a German shepherd which started my love for dogs. I use to volunteer at an animal shelter in Iowa when I was going to college. I would walk every single dog because it would break my heart to see them stuck in such a small space. I also rescued around 20 dogs, 50 cats, and one monkey when I was living overseas. I am very empathetic towards animals especially because they are such innocent beings. I also worked with different rescue groups overseas. I currently have 3 dogs I rescued from Peru South America. Their stories are pretty crazy but now they are living the dog dream. Having 3 dogs myself I know how necessary it is to have help! 1st I would like to come meet the pet first so we can create a trust. Then I would make sure they were comfortable in their home with plenty of food and water. I would just follow all the rules the owner has for me especially if there dog is on a specific diet. If it is okay with the owner also carry training treats with me for walks.

About: I have had a yorkie growing up named Daisy! She had a long 16 year life before passing Christmas of 2018. She loved to play with her toys and run around the back yard. About: Hi, my name is Valerie Petty & I graduated from UIC in 2016 with a bachelors in Criminal Law & Justice. I am very outgoing and caring. I love animals more than anything. I had an 8 year old boxer who was with me starting at 6 months, she was my baby and best friend. Unfortunately she passed away October 5, 2018 from lymphoma. I now have three other dogs, Nugget, Delilah and Roo. Nugget was found and we adopted Delilah and Roo after fostering them. Nugget is a labrador retriever, rottweiler mix, Delilah is a boxer mix and Roo is an Amstaf mix. I have also grown up with cats, frogs, birds, hamsters, turtles and all types of reptiles. I love all different types of animals and love meeting new pets. I am allergic to cats and dogs but that has never stopped me from being around them! I promise to treat and care for them as my own. About: I only had family cats growing up, but when my 12-year-old daughter had a big loss in her life, I gave her a Yorkie puppy. Of course, I knew nothing but how to love that puppy, so I had to learn quickly. Yes, I learned about crating...and also not crating. I've learned that dog training is mostly about "training" the owner. And I've learned how you can be firm and serious...but not mean. Like...being a parent. I've watched enough dogs that when they stay or visit, my home's been named deemed a doggie camp. I've had senior dogs on medication or needing more sedate care, and crazy puppies who get the right things to chew. And for walks, we have a great neighborhood with sidewalks. While this is all "puppy" news, yes, I definitely know how to care for cats too. I believe cats need play and music or active noise usually as well - except at bed time. No animal wants to feel alone...and they never do with me. I usually work from home and manage my schedule, so periodic check-ins during the work days isn't difficult. I don't often travel, so evenings, weekends and home care is relatively simple within my schedule. Pets in my client's homes get a regular schedule for meals, wake time, and bed time. They get a balance of play time, brushing,...and snuggles. For dogs, they get walks and play - inside and out. When an owner is not around, animals are a little sadder, so I work to help minimize that sadness...and given them comfort and company.
About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was born. My first dog was a 100 pound German Shepard mix, then we got a miniature border collie mix, then a hound, and now we have a one year old german shepard belgian malinois. I have helped train and take care of all of our family dogs and we take our dogs on at least 2 walks a day! I can take care of any type of dog and I will of course love every animal I take care of. I have no problem picking up poop on walks! I would love to help you take care of your Dogs! I am currently a college student at Judson University studying Architecture. I would be able to take care of your pet before 7:45am and I am available during lunch time. I am also volleyball player and practices are normally from 4-6 so I would be able to go over after that. MWF I have class from 1-5 so I wouldn’t be able to go in that time frame and my volleyball games are normally Tuesday and Thursday nights which I could go over after those. I have a fenced in yard at my house but I also have energetic dogs so I take them on walks every day twice a day. They both love to play fetch and obviously they love to go on their daily walks. I can do anything from just letting them out and throwing the ball for them to walking around the block or even a mile. I am flexible with what kind of service your pet may need!

I live in a gated condo building where it's safe and comfortable for your pets. The Alexandria area is an excellent dog-walking city to ensure your pet has adequate amounts of exercise and bathroom breaks. *NOTE* I do have two cats within my household; I prefer to have pets that are comfortable with other pets in the house.

“We couldn’t be happier about the care our greyhound Steely Dan received from Derek and his family while we were on a 3-week vacation. During the time we were away we regularly received updates and photos that assured us Steely was being made to feel at home. Derek has a large dog, Ellie, who is quite friendly, and there were no issues with Steely and Ellie spending time together. Steely is sensitive to thunderstorms, and the meds we provided were administered appropriately with no issues. Finally, when we picked Steely up, he seemed relaxed and content. We always felt confident he was in exceedingly capable hands.”

“Our dog, Jackie stayed with Greg and Sonia for 9 days and did very well! We could tell from the Meet & Greet that we had with Sonia in advance of Jackie's stay that it would be a good environment for her. The large fenced in yard and Sonia's questions for us let us know right away that Jackie would be safe and well cared for. We received photos and texts throughout Jackie's stay that confirmed all was well. And upon picking Jackie up, chatting with Sonia also confirmed that she had been hands-on with Jackie and understood her as well as we did. We will definitely use Sonia and Greg again and recommend them wholeheartedly to others considering them!”

“Jackie was wonderful! She watched our dog Olive for a week while our family was on vacation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Her home is lovely, clean, and spacious, with plenty of room for pups to play and rest. Jackie and her family are incredibly friendly and clearly very pro-dog, which made us feel completely comfortable leaving Olive in their care. Her neighborhood is also perfect for dogs, with lots of great walking opportunities. Jackie was very responsive throughout the week and sent us pictures of Olive every day, which we really appreciated. Olive had a great stay, and we’ll definitely be sending her to Jackie again!”
“I would highly recommend Lori! Our dog is 13 so I worried more about her care but Lori sent pictures and daily updates on her well-being. We did the meet and greet first so they’d get acquainted and they were perfect together. I will definitely use Rover.com again. I wasn’t aware of this company but much better than a kennel.”
