About: (They/them) I’m a huge animal lover and pro cuddler. I have lived around dogs for pretty much my whole life. I got my own dog when I was 10 and took care of him for many years. I took care of my most recent dog (shelter adopted!) for the past four years. I have taken dog training classes as well. I also have experience taking care of cats and currently care for my own cat. About: I was raised on a farm in Bloomington, Indiana where our family would own or foster upwards of 6 dogs at any given time, of all sizes and breeds. I am familiar with rescues requiring extra patience and understanding, service dogs, large dogs, and breeds that have unique instincts + needs, such as herding dogs. I have also been a cat owner for over two decades (no cats in my apartment currently) and work especially well with cats with attitude, or who are known to be finicky in temperament. I can adapt to whatever special needs your animal might have and ensure they have the best care possible. My schedule is free at the moment (with a few exceptions), so feel free to reach out to see if a day / time works. I may be limited in long distance dog walking and high intensity play between June 3rd to June 15th, but standard walks and light play or visits to dog parks are fine. I have a spacious apartment with lots of room for animals to roam or lounge. There is a back deck and narrow fenced in area behind the building for lounging. The area I am in (Andersonville) is very dog friendly and walkable. I would suggest bringing blankets, beds, toys, etc as I don't have these items in my space at the moment. I am home all day / night for caretaking and happy to spend as much time with them as they need. If your pet requires special attention, just let me know and I will ensure they receive it. “Remi had a great time with John and Ryan and they updated me with pictures every day! She came back sleepy and content. I'll definitely have her stay with them again if I go out of town!”
“Roman was Charise’s first ever Rover dog and we were really happy to have connected with her for our 5-day trip. Charise was a great sitter—she sent detailed updates about how Roman was doing with Navi and hope he was settling in while we were away. Her home is very clean and Charise is a very warm and welcoming host. Navi is just the cutest little nugget ever, and I could tell immediately Roman would feel right at home with Charise. Our big GSD is a big baby and throws a bit of a fit every time we leave, but Charise and Navi were patient with him while he warmed up to the idea of us being away—by the time we returned, he was fully integrated into their little family. Roman is allowed on the couch and bed for cuddles, and Charise has a full basement for the dogs to run around and play, a small yard, and she takes them together on long walks. Roman came home fully pooped from a week of playing with Navi and we’ll definitely be using Charise in the future!”
“Ian is extremely reliable and communicative. He has watched our dog Evie twice, and we have had no issues whatsoever. He watches multiple dogs at a time, knows a lot of them well from past stays, and is great about making sure the dogs are safe together - Evie has never had any issues with the other dogs and has a great time at his house. She is always well taken care of including daily walks. He also sends pictures multiple times a day and gives frequent updates. He is an outstanding dog sitter - I cannot recommend him highly enough and plan to book with him many times in the future”
“Darla took great care of our dog! She was experienced and able to handle our dog with no issues. From setting up the meet and greet all the way to pick up (and everything in between), communication was a breeze! She sent us daily pictures along with updates to let us know our dog was doing well! Our dog got plenty of attention and exercise. She loved playing catch in their spacious backyard. We will definitely trust our precious pup with Darla again!”
