“There are not enough kind things I can say about Jackie, she took incredible care of my fur baby. My mom unexpectedly passed away and I needed to leave town on very short notice for a week. I had never used Rover before or boarded her for more than one night in the 10 years I’ve had her. I had extreme anxiety about leaving her with someone else, especially during such a vulnerable time. Jackie took the best care of her, and when I say best, I truly mean the best! Nala also has anxiety when away from me and in only one day being away I was getting pictures of her with a huge smile on her face! Jackie and her family treated Nala like she was apart of their family, and gave her lots of cuddle time too 🥰. They knew she was anxious too and did everything they could to make her comfortable. Jackie constantly stayed in contact with me with messages on how she was doing and lots of photos and videos. In 10 years, Jackie was the first person I trusted with my baby and I’m so happy I did. It allowed me to take the time I needed and gave me the piece of mind knowing my baby was being cared for as best as possible. I feel so grateful to have found her, I never would have been able to get out of town if I hadn’t. I couldn’t recommend her more if you’re looking for someone who takes just as good of care of your fur baby as you do ❤️.”

“Danielle was awesome! There were a lot of twists and turns to our weekend and she was very flexible and accommodating. I’ll use her again for sure. Thanks, Danielle!”

“Clark loves staying at Jeannie’s house. He has been a repeat customer. He loves her big backyard and being able to play all day. We get pictures throughout his stay as well. She’s very responsive and easy to communicate with. Feels like family!”

“Gavin was very patient , kind and understanding of my crazy schedule for this weekend and also my first time pet parent anxiety, and my dog loved being in his carelol I would gladly book with him again!”

“Jackie is the best! We felt so confident leaving our Maddie with Jackie and her family. Jackie sent us pictures everyday and I could see Maddie was having a great time and was well taken care of. This family loves dogs and it shows. We would use Jackie again in a heart beat!”

“Shauna and Peter took such wonderful care of our dog Gracie. Not only did they follow our instructions for her basic care, such as food, medications, daily walks and play, but the whole family gave her so much love and attention. She is a very affectionate dog and they treated her as if she was their own. We were on a long trip overseas and Shauna’s daily communication and photos gave us such a peace of mind that our sweet pup was doing just fine. We feel so blessed to have found them and can not thank them enough for the perfect care they gave Gracie! We highly recommend Shauna and Peter to care for your dog. They are the best!”

“I feel so lucky to have found niratcha as a dog sitter for my big baby lab she took great care of him She sent pics and updates daily, and our boy came home exhausted and happy. We're so grateful to have found someone who truly cares for our boy the way we do! VERIFIED!”

About: Hello! We absolutely love all dogs. We have a beautiful 4 year old Weimaraner who we came into our life as a pup. We also have had two prior to her. We are comfortable with all aged dogs from the feisty puppies to the more quiet seniors. We have lots of experience with young puppies, senior dogs who need medication (oral pills or otherwise), and shy or energetic dogs. Linda even worked as a Vet Tech in high school and was a dog walker in college. We both are retired and love to sit outside with our dog and go for walks. As a visitor to our home, we are open to whatever method you employ for your dog’s safety. We have experience with crate training and are happy to continue those practices if you wish. Otherwise, your dog is free to roam our fenced yard and home. We are both retired, so have lots of time for your pup. Our dog always gets to go out whenever she wants. So will yours. We usually walk our dog in the morning afternoon and evening. If your dog is up to that, we will have her join us. We have a fenced in yard for the dogs to enjoy whenever they want. Our house is very dog friendly. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture. We do not leave any food out and have a dog proof garbage can too.
“Great hosts and couple! They took Dexter in on such short notice with welcoming Arms. Definitely going to reach out to them in the future when we’re out of town. Thank you so much!”

“Jacqueline and Uriel were both amazing! They gave me hourly updates with photos and helped me stay at ease since it was my first time leaving my pup with anyone. They spent a lot of quality time with him teaching him tricks, taking him out every hour, and making sure my little guy was well taken care of. I can’t say enough good things about them both and I am so grateful I found them! I would def recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable sitter! 10/10 🙏”

“Great dog boarder! Our dog typically gets stressed being away from home, but he had a great time & came home happy as could be 😊 She provided updates & photos throughout his stay too.”

“This was our first rover experience- our two dogs stayed with Maria and her family for about 4 days.Maria was happy to do a meet and greet before hand a couple months prior. The day we were dropping the dogs off my female who hasn’t been spayed yet started her menstrual cycle, I was so worried we were going to have to cancel our flights because I totally wouldn’t blame Maria if they didn’t want to keep her while she was wearing a diaper. But Maria was happy to still take both pups for the weekend and I am so thankful. My lab is a high energy gal and did great. We got pictures and updates multiple times a day of their walks and playing in the back yard. They seem happy and content after their stay with Maria and I cannot recommend her more. We have another stay booked with her already. So thankful to find someone to leave my pups with who we trust and can feel at ease leaving them with.”

“Katie and her family kept Tank warm and happy during the crazy cold weather while we were on vacation! He walks in like he owns the place which means we don't worry about him a bit. Appreciate your excellent care.”

“Thank you soooo much for taking my boy it looked like he had a lot of fun’s will deff b booking more with yah easy location easy to get to highly highly recommended!!!!! Thank you!!!”

About: Hello there! My name is Erika. I’ve been interacting with dogs since I was an infant, and now I’m a proud dog owner of an Australian Shepherd named Mysti. For the majority of my life, my family has had Labrador Retrievers, and I have experience with most common breeds through friends, family, and Rover. I also have experience with lesser-known breeds, difficult breeds, and breeds that need specialized attention. My experience also includes working with dogs who require medical attention, such as dogs with diabetes, epilepsy, cancer, and most common diseases and disorders such as anxiety, depression, minor/moderate behavioral issues, and teeth/gum issues. I’m very capable of changing out gauze on medical sites, cleaning stitches, administering medicine, and cleaning up after a pet if they have an accident. Caring for pets isn’t always “pretty”, or “perfect”, and I’m okay with that. My approach is straight-forward, no nonsense, and compassionate, and I will always do right by you and your pet. Currently, my full-time job is working with pets and completing my degree. I do have some regulars around lunchtime, but other than that my schedule is generally open. In my spare time I garden, paint, draw, cook, walk my dog, and run another small business online. ———————————————————— How I run my schedule: there are certain pillars of importance that I focus on when I’m caring for your animal. Most importantly, first, we have your pet’s basic needs. This varies by each pet but I take these needs into consideration every time I’m with them. I do what I can to accommodate the physical, emotional, and mental needs of your animals without being invasive. My goal is for your pet to get everything they need, and to know that I am there for them. The second pillar that I focus on is trust. An animal respects when I actually *see* and respect them, not when I expect them to be happy regardless. Pets will wonder where you are. My job is not to replace you, but to build a unique and gradual relationship with your pet so they feel safe on all levels. The third and final pillar that I focus on is safety, but this is really at the forefront of my mind at all times. I will go to great lengths to protect your home, your pets, and your possessions. I have a pet and home of my own, so I understand how scary it can be to leave your pets and home in my care. These are the pillars that I stand by and are what make my business method virtually bullet-proof. I’m extremely meticulous when it comes to locking up homes, crating pets if needed, and securing an environment for curious pets. At the end of the day, these pillars of care can impact my schedule relative to the animals I am caring for. Please be understanding and know your animal is getting this treatment when I am with them :) ———————————————————— Important regarding house-sittings: there are some times when I am more in demand than others. This is a gig-based business, and I take what comes to me. Unfortunately, my jobs are not exact distances apart and some dogs/cats may take more time to care for than others due to high energy needs or medical problems. Please understand that my schedule varies and the likelihood of me being able to accommodate everything you need at the exact time you expect is extremely slim. I make exceptions and carve out time for dogs and cats with medical issues, but otherwise I expect your pet to be okay for a bit if I have to run out and take care of other families’ pets. I have many clients who rely on me for last-minute trips such as for work, funerals, and other personal matters. I cannot guarantee a completely open schedule for you and your pet, even though I wish this business could work that way. I am also a homeowner, engaged, and have a dog of my own, so my schedule is not for yours to do anything with. We must negotiate and see what works for us both. If you aren’t okay with that, I am not the sitter for you. I expect reasonable clients who understand this is a business, not a charity. I’m good at my job and expect people to respect my time, my professional expertise, and my judgement. Trust: Having a stranger come into your home to watch your pets is a big deal. I’m the person who comes to the house for a living and even I find it a bit strange. So, what I can say about trusting me is that I understand if you don’t. What I can tell you about me is that I’m someone who likes things straight-forward and blunt (this makes it easier for us both to trust each other), I prefer transparency (who are we all trying to fool anyways?), and I will always be honest with you about what is going on with me and your pet. I back this up by being completely okay with being watched by home cameras, as long as they aren’t in private areas, and that I am informed. ———————————————————— Environment: Cleanliness, order, and structure are important to me when caring for pets, whether they be a dog who needs a walk, a cat who needs medicine, or a puppy who just needs to play. I am very mindful about the environment I am in, whether that be your home, your yard, or walking outside in the neighborhood. I typically centralize what I need in the workspace that I am assigned (kitchen, living room, bedroom), and will complete all essential tasks as described and then clean up after myself completely. I take pride in leaving an environment clean and leaving your personal belongings untouched, and making sure that your pet can’t get into anything dangerous, can’t get out, and is safe when they are with me and when they are alone in the house. I’m careful of poisonous substances, such as coffee grounds, items containing xylitol, and other poisonous items such as chemical cleaning agents. In regard to your home, I am incredibly diligent about keeping windows and doors locked when I am around and when I am out. Nothing scares me more than the thought of a loose pet or someone getting into a home while I am gone and will go to great lengths to make sure neither of those things happen on my watch. ———————————————————— Safety: I would like to think I’m pretty fun and cool, but I’m actually quite a stickler when it comes to safety. When walking especially, I will avoid people and dogs without a second thought because I don’t want your dog to either react negatively and get into a bad situation or end up getting attacked by a reactive/aggressive dog. I’m a quick walker, carry treats on me for emergencies, and am physically capable of picking up dogs up to about 80-100 pounds. Extra large dogs I am able to control by making them do a sit and holding their collar until they’re calm or non-resistant. If they do not sit, I will block them until they listen and relax. I use obedience basics to ensure a safe and trusting relationship with the pets I watch, whether or not we are on a walk. My method when a dog is acting naughty is to ignore them, take treats away, and if necessary I can crate them.
About: I started dog sittng in college for my professors and quickly grew to love it. I've gained experience walking, feeding, and caring for dogs, and I bring these skills to my own pets as well. I'm excited to provide the same care and attention to your dog while you're away. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and I can accomodate your need. I also offer pickup and drop-off services for a small fee. I have a fenced yard providing a secured space for your dog to play and relax. I also have a senior male Australian Shedperd who loves to play with other dogs, so your pet will have a friendly companion during the stay.
“We just want to say thank you to Molly she was really a great pick for our Australian Shepard named auggie he has separation anxiety really bad and Molly did all that she could to make him feel at home we are very thankful we found her to make our vacation a lot enjoyable knowing auggie was in good hands thanks Molly”

About: As a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet owner, I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I have a male Chihuahua-Terrier mix who stays with me part-time and gets along well with other dogs. I am the go-to pet sitter for friends and family, because my goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, indoor or outdoor play sessions, or relaxing with lots of cuddles, I’ll tailor their care to their unique personality and routine. I also have experience taking care of senior dogs and am comfortable administering medication, preparing special diets, and providing extra care and attention. I love having dogs around and would be delighted to welcome your pet into my home. For everyone’s comfort and safety, I ask that dogs be friendly around children, adults, and other dogs. Meet and greets—virtual or in person—are required before booking so we can make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! I work a flexible hybrid schedule, with three days per week at home and my office is close enough to come home midday on office days for walks and all your pet’s needs. I live in a spacious townhome and do not have a fenced yard, but if your dog enjoys leashed walks and outdoor playtime, I have easy access to open outdoor spaces, parks, and nature trails. In my home, dogs are a part of the family and welcome to make themselves comfortable just as they would in your home. They are welcome to relax on the couch, snooze on the bed, or use their own bed or crate if that’s most comfortable. I want your dog (and you) to feel relaxed and safe until your return.

“Erika has been amazing to work with. She is so kind and such caring nature that I felt comfortable with her the moment I met her. She took great care of both my cats. Her detailed updates and pictures made my day everytime I got those. She was thorough with all the tasks and did some extra clean up which I am truly grateful for. Can’t wait to book her again!”

“This was my first time using Rover as a client. This was my first time using Sarah. Sarah did a great job of taking care of everything. She had a lot of items to check for functionality. Sarah did an exceptional job in dealing with my daily changes that occurred as I had to find the perfect routine for my outdoor cats. Some things went off line but she went with the flow and was able to transition nicely with the issues. I hope she will sit for me again if asked”

“Nicole was the best!! It was our first time leaving our cat at home alone and we were so worried about him being lonely. She gave him so much love and care and always went above and beyond with check ins, sending photos and keeping us up to date on his well being. Would 100% use her again, it’s very clear she cares about animals and their people.”

“Stephanie did an excellent job with my two cats, Charlie and Punkin. She gave Punkin her meds every day, and I got a great photo and update on the cats each day we were away! Stephanie has a bright, friendly personality - my cats seemed to really like her. She was meticulous in making sure they got fed, watered, and petted. I am so grateful to have had Stephanie to sit for me during my trip away from home! *Highly recommend*”

About: I worked at an animal care clinic for three years where I was in charge of cat enrichment and socialization, and of course, cleaning. I have cleaned up the weirdest messes cats have made and began to look forward to what chaos each individual cat will bring to my day. I have three cats myself who are extremely spoiled and loved. I also have experience administering medications to cats, from pills to iv treatment, I have done it before.

“Jenny was an amazing person to work with!! She came over before the booking started to meet our pup and talk about his needs. She was always very attentive to responding to us and was very accommodating when needed. Our dog loved her! He always looked so happy in the pictures that she sent us and we felt reassured knowing he was in great hands while we were away. We would highly recommend Jenny! Thank you again!!”

I have experiences volunteering at Anderson animals shelter for a couple of years working with dogs and cats in all conditions until the pandemic happened. My parents wouldn’t let me have my own dog until I went to college. But that didn’t stop me from taking care of dogs that weren’t mine. I love animals so much, so I would always offer to take care my grandma’s dog and neighbors’ dogs as well. When I was old enough to volunteer at the animal shelter, I enjoyed spending time with animals and helping them to find a forever home. I’m currently a graduate student at UIUC back home for breaks. I live in an animal friendly neighborhood. My house is ranch-style house with a fenced in yard and a sun room with easy access to my backyard. I also have a friendly dog to keep your dog’s company. About: I’ve had dogs and cats every since I was 5 years old so I guess you could say I’m experienced!! I just received my graduate degree & now have plenty of time to provide exceptional care & love for your pups! 🐶 I’m available any day of the week for boarding, I work part time, have weekends off & have a very flexible schedule! I’m looking forward to providing exceptional care to your animal while you’re away! I have a fenced in yard and love to go for plenty of walks! Lots of space for your dog to explore in the house and backyard!
“Jackie was phenomenal. I reached out pretty last minute with a request that wasn’t exactly simple—she had to pick Ghost up from his training facility (not from me) and coordinate all of that seamlessly. On top of that, she even helped me sort out a small payment detail on Rover to make sure everything reflected correctly, which she absolutely didn’t have to do. She was super responsive, easy to work with, and just handled everything without friction. And the best part—Ghost lit up the second he saw her again after a few months, which tells you everything you need to know. Somehow she manages all of this while caring for multiple dogs at once and raising a young family, which honestly makes it even more impressive. Highly recommend giving Jackie a shot.”

We only accept 1 dog at a time so you can be confident in knowing your pet will receive the utmost attention. Katie is home all day to homeschool our kids, so you can also be assured your dog will be active all day long! We both work full-time from home so we are always available to care for your pets! In our home, our pets are a part of our family, we often refer to them as our furry children! We live on almost 2 acres of land, so plenty of space for your pet to play outside. We are happy to accommodate any special requests.
“Stephanie is absolutely wonderful, and I felt completely safe leaving my precious pup with her for the weekend! We are so grateful to have found such a great Rover fit with her! Thank you Stephanie :)”

About: I have always loved every different kind of animal out there, but spent my childhood with mostly just cats. 15 years ago, I adopted my first puppy, a German Short-haired Pointer, at the age of 8 weeks. My ex-husband and I decided to take the "treatless training" approach which was a huge success! Crate training, leash training, obedience training were all a collaborative effort and turned out extremely well. 10 years later, we adopted a sweet rescue named Gizmo who was already 7 years old, but became part of the family immediately. They have both passed on now to doggy heaven, but I am always the first to offer to care for other family member's pets anytime I can :) I'm currently working part-time from my home in Blackberry Creek and always have time for some fur-ball company. My 2 girls, 7 and 10 years old, are with me part time and are also very helpful, gentle and patient with our pets and hopefully yours! I have a fenced back yard with plenty of room for your fur-baby to play and exercise! If it better suits you, I can always come to your home as well for potty and play time :) UPDATE 6/8/26 - Since starting my Rover journey in 2022, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing pets and their wonderful families. Along the way, our household has grown and changed in ways I never expected. In 2023, one of my regular Rover pups (actually a senior pup) became a permanent part of our family. Tigger’s owner had rescued him from a Chicago Animal Shelter just months before I began caring for him. As a 100 lb. Staffordshire Terrier, Great Dane, Bully, etc. mix, Tigger was a big boy with an even bigger heart. His owner dedicated to helping him become the best version of himself, especially since he wasn’t always comfortable around other dogs. With patience, training, and love, he blossomed into the sweetest, gentlest giant you could imagine. When his owner unexpectedly passed away, her husband reached out to ask if I would consider adopting Tigger. My answer was immediate: absolutely. I couldn’t bear the thought of him returning to a shelter. Bringing Tiggy into our family was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My girls and I were lucky enough to love, spoil, and cherish him for three wonderful years before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him every day, but are so grateful for the time we had together. Since then, we’ve also welcomed two adorable brother cats into our home. They keep us smiling and full our days with plenty of fun and affection. While our family has grown, we’re excited to have some doggy energy back in the house through Rover! When your pup stays with us, they’ll be welcomed with open arms and treated like a part of the family. We understand how much your pets mean to you because we’ve experienced firsthand just how special that bond can be. Our promise is simple: we’ll care for your furry family member with the same love, attention, and respect that we give our own. I work from home full time, so am able to provide your pup with all of the attention they deserve. They are free to run around in the fenced-in backyard and play at their fullest extent! Every pet owner has a different perspective on how to care for their pets. Some require a special routine for dinnertime or bedtime, while others require basic care with lots of love. I will follow whatever instructions are given to me by the owner…and I promise not to judge 😊
About: I have been around dogs since I was a little kid when my dad trained dogs for field trials. I adopted a shelter dog with behavioral issues and had her for over 11 years until she passed last fall. I am great with dogs that pull or have leash aggression. I would love to take care of your pet until we're ready to adopt the next addition to our family! I'm currently a stay at home mom with a toddler & I have pretty open availability to take care of your pet on their schedule! Our house is totally toddler proof, which makes great pet proofing as well. We also know all the best sniffing routes for walks. In your home, we'll treat it with respect and the utmost care!

“Another great week with Nicole taking great care of our pups! Your flexibility and quick responses are so appreciated as we have changes in schedule. Thank you for your great service!”

“With our schedules constantly changing, we needed someone to check-in and walk our dog during the work week. We have a strong 60 lbs. German Shorthaired Pointer with lots of energy and Jenny has been extremely helpful, flexible, and caring toward our pet. She is very responsive, sends updates and pictures from visit. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with Jenny’s dog services!”

About: I have had pets all of my life, both cats and dogs. I have worked at an animal shelter for three years where I took dogs out for daily walks, gave them enrichment and lots of love and patience. I would love to get to know your dog and find out how to give them the best days possible! I am also very prepared to clean any messes that may occur and make sure that your dog remains safe while we play. I am a part-time college student so I have a few assignments to take care of weekly. I have no other job at this time so school is my only commitment this summer. I always check to ensure that any harmful materials anywhere the animals can reach them. I regularly monitor various toys that are out and ensure that they are not being eaten and playtime is always monitored.
“Heather was wonderful and made my first experience with Rover an absolute breeze. She communicated well, was extremely kind and took great care of my boy Hank. 10/10 would recommend!”

About: With over 12 years of experience, I've cared for multiple dogs, trained two, and consistently follow routines. I enjoy walking dogs and ensuring they’re happy, healthy, and well-fed. I’ve also cared for my uncle’s dogs and picked up many effective training techniques along the way. I'm reliable, patient, and passionate about giving every dog the attention and structure they need. I currently don’t have another job, so my schedule is completely open and flexible. I’m available any day, any time, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Whether it’s a last-minute request or a regular routine, I’m happy to adjust to what works best for you and your dog’s needs. My open availability means you can always count on me. I always follow the feeding and walking schedules provided by clients to ensure each dog’s routine stays consistent and comfortable. Most clients leave a list or specific details, and I make sure to stick to them closely. In between scheduled tasks, I spend quality time playing with the dogs, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company so they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you're away.

About: I grew up around a variety of animals my whole life and I have been caring for others pets since I was 13 years old. I have always loved animals and treat everyone's pets as if they were my own. My senior year of high school I created my senior project around therapy dogs and helping special needs children. I trained my own dog to be a certified therapy dog through the organization known as Pet Partners. The remainder of the project was visiting with special needs children and doing educational activities. We also visited libraries and young children with developing their reading skills. I recently graduated from Purdue University with an Animal Science degree which has allowed me to gain even more knowledge on how to care for people's pets. I also have knowledge of animal CPR and first aid for cats and dogs. I'm looking forward to being apart of this pet care community and providing excellent care to all the pets I encounter.

About: Hi Dog lovers! My name is Abigail and dogs have been a part of my life since I can remember. Growing up I was responsible for walking, feeding and pouring attention into our two German shorthaired pointer dogs. When my neighbors would go on vacation they would ask me to watch their four dogs and I also became the 'go to' person when their dogs would get loose in the neighborhood. Fortunately, that never happened on my watch! My current dog is a high energy Pitbull Lab mix, who thinks he is a lap dog. :) Most of the dogs I have worked with have been in the 50-60 pound range but I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Is your dog older? No problem, I can sit and give them lots of love or take them on a gentle walk. Is your dog high energy? Again, no problem, I have one of those of my own and I can play fetch or tug-a-war with them! I have no problem administering medicine if needed too. During the school year I work in a high school and coach swimming so my availability is from 3:30pm - 6:00pm, and anytime on the weekends. During the summer my schedule is much more flexible during the week and weekends. I consider myself a dog magnet because any time I encounter a dog, even for the first time, they like to jump on me or wiggle their butts, seeking my attention! Providing walks, belly rubs, and playing fetch are my jam. Dogs mean the world to me and I would love the opportunity to shower your fur babies with attention. During the school year, I am available 3:30pm - 6:00pm and weekends. During the summer (June & July) I have flexibility in my schedule every day. I am comfortable taking dogs to the park, walking them or playing with them indoor home/yard. If it is a high energy dog, I can also take them for a run.

About: I’ve had Dogs since I was little. I currently have 2 German Short Haired Pointers which is a very high energy breed dog. I’m currently working part time as a nanny while attending ECC for Nursing. This allows me to have a flexible schedule to care for your pet(s)!
