About: I LOVE puppies, especially cute ones... I have lived with dogs for my entire life. Everything from labs, adopted mutts, terriers, poodles, goldendoodles, big, medium, and small. I have yet to meet a breed that I can't whisper to. While my profile on Rover is new, I have been sitting and housesitting dogs on the side for years, for neighbors in the area and a small network of family friends I've kept up since I began my undergrad at UIC. “Dez and wife were great. I felt really good after the initial meet n greet. When I went to drop of Frankie, I felt at ease when Frankie immediately started to pull towards Dezmond's house and happily went with him when I handed him the leash. Frankie has severe separation anxiety, but when we got to Dezmond's Frankie could not care less that I was leaving! It felt good to see how happy and comfortable Frankie was to be there. Dezmond was very communicative and kept me updated throughout the day. Frankie had a great time during his stay, loved playing with Dezmond's dogs and didn't want to leave! He left a tired, happy boy. I would recommend Dezmond and his wife again and also look forward to having Frankie have future visits with them too!”

About: I have raised and cared for dogs and cats my entire life, all sizes and ages, several with serious medical needs. As a child, my family bred and raised Irish Setters and kept any pup that was not 100% healthy for adoption. Therefore I have experience with all aspects of pet care and I have raised my kids to do the same. We are Tara (49yr), Jaden (15yr) and Alia (12yr) and have been dog sitting for friends and family for years and really enjoy hosting pups to play with and pamper on the weekends since unfortunately we are not home enough during the week to provide adequate care and attention to a full time pup. Our three kitties are very accustomed to dogs but we have plenty of room to separate them if they overstimulate your doggy. Our three level home, plus large back yard, will give your pup plenty of room to play inside and out! We typically run and play in the backyard during potty breaks and go out for several walks a day. The yard is only 90% fenced so I have several 50ft leashes around the yard to provide the illusion of freedom while maintaining safety. If your pup is high energy, they can also play with the neighbor’s dogs or we can take a trip to the dog park so they can socialize and run with other pups. I assure you they will get lots of cuddles and attention and I will send photos and vids of your pup to you throughout their stay! I am available for boarding in my home on the weekends, beginning Friday evening through Monday morning. I can also board at your home from Saturday morning through Sunday evening. I will treat your pet like a member of the family! If they get muddy in the backyard I have no problem giving them a bath and brushing them. They are welcome on the furniture and will not be left alone while they are in my care.

About: Hi there! My name is Ellen and I have been a life long dog lover. I had two large dogs growing up (an Australian shepherd and pit bull mix), babysat and walked others frequently, and worked in animal shelters for 6 years. I’m currently working part time and taking classes at COD. My hours are: Monday 6:00am-12:00pm, Tuesday:6:00am-3:00pm, Wednesday: 6:00am-3:00pm, Thursday: 11:30am-1:00pm. I can do some Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well some current days I’ll be gone are July 17-19, and August 21-24 but other than that if you need help on Friday, Saturday or a Sunday please don’t hesitate to reach out. When it comes to taking care of pets - I care for them like they are my own. I make sure they are well cared for, fed, brushed, and I monitor overall healthiness. I report any changes in health or energy to their family. I’ve also given my clients a text letting them know I’ve arrived and when I’ve left, as well as a photo/video updates of their dog. When a client’s dog has medicine - I am skilled at helping administer the medicine so dogs feel comfortable. I monitor food and water change water and add when necessary or according to schedule. I clean up if there happened to be an accident such as potty or throw up, properly disposing of waste. I provide walks for exercise and believe in positive reinforcement. Play time is important so I provide games - such as chase or catch - to keep their minds and body active. I make sure their paws are clean after play/walks and wipe their paws when they come in the house. When I leave, I do safety checks to make sure I’ve properly lock up such as double checking to make sure the door is locked and if there’s a gate double checking to make sure the gate is closed and locked.
About: I LOVE puppies, especially cute ones... I have lived with dogs for my entire life. Everything from labs, adopted mutts, terriers, poodles, goldendoodles, big, medium, and small. I have yet to meet a breed that I can't whisper to. While my profile on Rover is new, I have been sitting and housesitting dogs on the side for years, for neighbors in the area and a small network of family friends I've kept up since I began my undergrad at UIC. I also love running. If you have an active dog that needs extra exercise, I'd be happy to take them along. Just let me know. Please note: To ensure the absolute best and safest care for your pup, I do require a quick Meet & Greet before accepting any first-time bookings Looking forward to hearing from you. I am currently in summer school at UIC, and will be in class from 8am to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so your dog would be alone for about 4 hours on those days. Before I leave, they will get a good walk, and when I'm back they'll spend the rest of the day with me doing homework, tutoring, or getting outside for a walk or run. I always treat every dog like my own. I make sure they are secure, comfortable, get all the pets and treats they need, and are never alone longer than necessary. You will also receive daily updates along the way, so you'll always know how they're doing.

About: I’ve been dog sitting for friends & family for years. This includes different shapes and sizes. I am a dog mom myself and overall pet lover. I have a flexible full time nursing job that allows me to work 3 times a week. I am looking to fill my free time with more pet care. I am reliable, detailed-oriented, calm and confident in my abilities to provide the best quality of care for your fur baby. I have a walking schedule with my dog at home. We currently do not have a fence but the dogs are always leashed even if just soaking up sun in the backyard. My dog does not get crated but I do have a medium sized crate and can be used if needed. We enjoy taking 3 walks a day and this includes being leashed at all times. My dog is friendly with neighbor dogs and we stop by when we see them if time allows. If my dog runs into an unfriendly dog, we remove ourselves from the situation immediately.

About: I started pet sitting as a teenager for neighbors and family friends. Since then, I have watched all types of dogs, including senior dogs. I became a dog owner for the first time in my mid-twenties. He was an elderly beagle mix with health issues. After he passed, I grieved until I was ready to own a dog again. Then I had ten wonderful years with Shadow, a husky mix who was a stray that made his way to a rescue. He bravely fought lymphoma for 1.5 years before succumbing to the disease. Through that time, I provided medication, took him for chemotherapy, and spoiled him until he decided it was time to cross the rainbow bridge. Shadow's absence still leaves a void in my heart that is filled by caring for other people's dogs. I love all types of dogs, and have experience with small to large, young and old, as well as dogs living with various health issues. Giving dog owners the security and piece of mind knowing their furry family members are safe and sound while they are away is a responsibility that I take very seriously. My husband and I live in a dog-friendly neighborhood and our backyard is fully fenced. As a dog lover himself, anyone who books with me gets their pup double the love. My full time job is permanently remote, so I am able to be at home with your dog at all times. No matter their schedule, I can meet it because I can be here to fulfill their needs. I have a fenced in yard for safety, and a dog-friendly neighborhood where your dog will feel right at home. I know every dog has different needs, so I can follow the habits you have created with them to maintain consistency. Whether that is crate training or sleeping on the couch, I will follow your instructions. I know that dogs are family, and treat them as such.
