About: NOTE: Off during summer, but I work weekdays throughout the school year. Still available during school, but pets will be at home without me on weekdays for about 7 hours. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 25 years. I have cared for small dogs <25 pounds all the way up to large sized Great Danes > 200 pounds. I have been fostering dogs for Safe Paws Iowa for the past 4 years. I am available for a large portion of the summer because I only coach softball outside of the school year. About: Growing up I have lived with dogs of all sizes and other animals such as farm animals my entire life. About: I’ve always been around cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. I’ve mastered the process of giving medications. I’ve volunteered in a shelter some years ago and I learned a lot while I was there. I’ve trained all of my current and past pets and even helped some friends with theirs. I craft my own pet food in my kitchen to ensure all nutrients are available to them. I take pet health to a very serious level! Currently, I’m just in school So I have plenty of time. I’m available Mon- sun at 10am, 3pm, and anytime after 5pm! Friday is the only day that I’m available at 11am rather than 10am but I’m free for the day after 11am. About: I’ve had for dogs of every age and size for my entire life, but have been a serious caretaker of them for about 10 years. I can give medicines including insulin shots, and will heed every dietary and exercise need given to me. I’m currently working full-time, however I commute from Ames to Des Moines every day so I am used to driving long distances. I also have a very flexible schedule and can work from home if I can give at least 2-3 days notice; I can leave for long periods at lunch; and I can get off work early if a drop-in visit is needed before 4:00. I can also stay as late as necessary into the evening, as long as expectations are communicated beforehand. I am extremely communicative and I will let my clients know if I am early, behind, or unable to complete a task. I cannot take pets into my apartment or workplace, however, I have experience with strictly and loosely trained animals in just about every situation under the sun. I am comfortable staying the night in a well secured home, or taking a few minutes to play with the pet(s) in the middle of the day. I am extremely clean and organized and will strive to leave my clients’ homes in the same shape or cleaner in case there are any accidents, as I am also well-versed in cleaning up after any mishaps from being left alone or too excited.

I am good at monitoring stools and eating habits, always on the look out for any concerns. I am very weary of entering and exiting homes so pets can not slip out. Outside of the house, I am extra alert for off-leash dogs and other wildlife that may pose issues. If a problem arises with another dog, I know methods of separation and carry dog deterrent spray. I’m always present and in tune with their body language to make sure they’re comfortable and not showing any signs of distress or possible health concerns. The communication line is always open and you will receive plenty of photos with each visit so you can know for certain everything is looking okay. When I’m with your pet, it’s all about your pet and only your pet! I will never do something you have not listed in your instructions- the more in depth the instructions, the better!

Even the most social pets, can behave differently when an unfamiliar person enters their home while family is not present. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". About: Hi, I'm Emily! I'm not just a dog lover - I've been a dog mom to just about every size and personality. Over the years I've had a Chihuahua, Lab, Olde English Bulldog, American Staffordshire amd now we have an American Bully. I’m very comfortable with strong, energetic breeds as well as tiny lap dogs who think they run the house. We currently have an 80lb American Bully named Rosco. I particularly love the bully breeds - no judgment, just structure, play, and lots of affection. I know how to read body language for both a nervous 4lb Chihuahua and an 80lb Lab who thinks they’re a lap dog. I’ve cared for a dog who required a strict daily medication routine, so I am meticulous about timing, dosages, and watching for side effects. Pills, liquid meds, special feeding schedules - I’ve done it all and I take it seriously. My home is calm with a structured routine. My husband and I are early to bed and early to rise. I keep a clean but dog-proofed home with a predictable routine for potty breaks, walks, play, and rest. We walk in the mornings and sometimes again in the evening if the weather allows. I only book one client at a time so your pup(s) will get plenty of attention! It’s also important that your dog gets along with mine so I will schedule a meet and greet before we confirm. This helps ensure it’s a good match for everyone. I promise to send lots of updates, photos, and videos so you never worry. Your pup will be treated like family here - safe, loved, allowed on the couch and in the bed and very well cared for while you're away. I have a securely fenced yard and inside my home dogs have plenty of places to lounge, with dog beds, toys, and a quiet areas for naps. My home is non-smoking, no kids. We have one American Bully named Rosco. Rosco is neutered, two years old, about 80 lbs and loves other dogs. Rosco is a high energy dog who does best with dogs who are playful but also tolerant. Rosco also does great with smaller dogs and puppies. I am open to dogs over 40lbs but not more than 75lbs. I never leave dogs unattended without them being kenneled. I am home most of the day but utilize kennels when we’re gone for everyone’s safety. We follow a twice a day feeding schedule and I will gladly follow your instructions to the letter for feeding, crate time, and walks. I’m currently between jobs and have plenty of time for pet care. My husband works during the week and is around in the evenings and the weekends to help care for our pups. I have a fenced in yard a very friendly bulldog named Rosco to keep your pup company. I can also crate your pup if needed.
