About: I've had a connection with dogs since my early childhood. Even as a young child I was the first to recognize when the family pets were "off" and in need of special care. I trained my GSD in a Schutzhund club and have a love for all dogs. My Chihuahua has taught me a different level of caring for a dog, from becoming a dog tooth brusher to chief hawk lookout on potty breaks. My day job is a half mile from home. I work 8-12, come home for an hour lunch and return to work from 1-4. I also have an adult daughter in my home who works evenings and is usually home during day time hours. I have a small fenced area outside my kitchen door. I do not let any small dog outside without a human because I am conscious of the danger hawks pose to small dogs. I have a very large, low living room window that dogs really enjoy because they can watch the world outside unfettered. There is a bed and an ottoman by the window for comfortable viewing purposes. Routines are adhered to. Guests are treated like family, welcome to snuggle on the couch or stretch out on my bed.

We love welcoming other pups into our home. We have a golden retriever who is 5 years old and loves other dogs. I’m home for work most days annd my wife everyday. “I have been very conflicted on this review. While the lead up was easy enough and Shane was responsive, the actual day of the service was just a bit odd. We were visiting from out of town and needed someone to watch our 5 month old puppy for the day. I confirmed the day before and Shane stated his girlfriend would be there as he was out until 1. No problem. Asked for her name and how I should contact her once we knew exactly what time we’d be there. He gave us her name and told us to just arrive “whenever” that she’d see us on the ring camera. Drop off was easy enough and Allie was super kind. Clear that she loves animals. We never received a follow up from Shane or any pictures or even just a note that the puppy was doing ok. Every pet sitter we’ve ever had has always sent at least 1 photo from the visit. Wasn’t a huge deal, but just interesting. We were going to arrive to pick the puppy up about 40 mins earlier than originally planned so I messaged Shane to let him know. When we got to the house Allie had the puppy ready to go and handed her over to us. Easy enough. Shane was outside. I said hello to him and thanked him. But, he never acknowledged us or said anything. Never even acknowledged the puppy as we were walking by him to pop her in the car. I was conflicted about what rating to give as the puppy seemed well cared for while there. But, the experience was a bit weird.”

I also have a park near my house that is very discrete where the dogs can come roam around. It is fenced and barely anyone ever goes to. I used to bring my dogs over there when I had them. About: I’ve had a pup (a Pitbull mix!) for about 7 years now which has been the best. I’ve gone through crate and potty training with him as a pup and later behavior training to curb some challenging behaviors. This makes me super flexible with providing commands of all levels and maintaining training progress. Friends and family have asked me to look after their pets, of all sizes, breeds, and ages. I’ve comfortable with giving medications, feeding, bathing, walking, and maintains training skills as needed. I try to be as flexible as I can to the dog’s needs and preferences (as well as the owners!). I’m currently a full-time graduate student, working part time, and other responsibilities but I'm home for summer break! Due to that, my schedule is pretty open right now with some limitations during the later afternoon and early evenings.
