“This was our first time ever boarding Aspen, and as nervous dog parents, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Jill. Aspen is an only child and can be a little needy and barky at times, and she definitely takes a while to warm up to new people. Before the stay, we asked if we could bring Aspen over briefly so she could meet Jill and get familiar with her and the environment. Jill was so kind and flexible in letting us do that, which gave both my partner and me so much peace of mind. To our surprise, Aspen warmed up to Jill and her yard immediately! Drop-off went smoothly, and throughout the weekend Jill took such great care of Aspen. She sent us photos and updates, which kept us in the loop and reassured us that our puppy was happy and doing well. She was also very flexible with pickup since we weren’t sure exactly when we’d be back in town, and that meant a lot. It was such a relief knowing our person-picky girl was in such good hands. We’re so grateful for the care and attention Jill gave Aspen and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, thoughtful dog sitter!”

About: Stay at home doggie dad. Love all pets but dogs are the best. They are our kids and they are spoiled just like a that. They are the only thing we think about. Morning, noon or night they are by our side. Our babies. Never physical punishment but they do get time outs in their kennels if they have been misbehaving. We have a very open floor plan in the house which they run around and the back door is always open for them to come in and out. The back yard is very large with trees and shrubs that they play in and around. It is a fully fenced six foot enclosed yard with plenty of room to roam or run. Last of all no neighbor dogs to annoy them.

It's been a while since I've been active on Rover and I’m not sure how my rating is so low. Perhaps it’s from a boarding booking I completed in San Diego. I naively accepted this booking without a meet & greet. The owner was not forthcoming about her senior dog’s cognitive functioning, and additionally the little dude had diarrhea 30 minutes after drop off, and continued relieving himself anywhere but outside throughout the stay. I was communicative throughout the stay and followed her instructions on how to try and get him to go potty outside (instead of inside every single time, usually after a 10-20 minute walk). Nothing worked and sadly the little guy had to spend a lot of time crated. I had to contact Rover about it because I had no experience at the time with incontinent senior dogs. My rates are currently discounted so that I can build trust and establish a client base, while providing 5-star pet sitting to new clients 😊 I’ve spent the last 5 years working in the corporate world as an Operations Manager. I knew deep down it wasn’t what I wanted to be doing, but I was really good at it and it paid well. After being laid off earlier this year - I took it as a sign that it’s time to pursue my real passion of pet care and animal welfare. Now that I have all this free time, I am filling it with volunteering at shelters, pet sitting for friends & family, and finally utilizing the Karen Pryor dog training course/materials that I started 2 years ago (but gave up on because I was too burnt out from work). TLDR: I can be home all day and am excited to offer my pet care services on Rover again! Spending time with dogs has always come naturally to me. I focus on creating a calm, positive environment and always use reward based interactions so dogs feel safe and confident. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language to ensure each dog’s needs are met. Every dog I care for is treated like part of the family. Plenty of attention, patience, and affection are always included. IMPORTANT: • I've spent many hours training my dog to be a well mannered magnificent mutt :) He loves to play. I’ve noticed this bothers some dogs. • I have a fenced backyard but as an extra safety measure I never leave dogs unattended back there. Regardless, if your dog is an escape artist - this will not be the best fit. • Make sure your dog arrives clean and healthy so that they can enjoy all of the same luxuries my dog does - unlimited access to lounging on furniture, snuggles, petting, and scritches! - Please pack any grooming tools that may be needed over the course of their stay (shampoo, paw wipes, brush, etc.) REQUIRED: • I require that all dogs are up to date on their vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. I will need vaccination proof, sent through Rover or brought in person at the Meet and Greet. My dog is on Simparica trio in addition to always being up to date on vaccines. • Meet & Greets are required, as far in advance as possible. For extended stay boarding, I offer a discounted doggy day-care rate to prospective clients. I highly recommend this as it allows me to observe how your dog's behavior when you aren't present, prior to your extended absence, which provides greater peace of mind for all involved parties :) • Your dog must be 100% house trained, obedient, and properly socialized in order to have the best time possible during their stay.

Some days my partner Joe will take the pups to the dog park in the morning when he isn’t working to get some energy out otherwise we’ll go later in the afternoon. We love walking over to commons park and sitting on the hill for sunset. We eat dinner around 5 and head for a final potty walk around the block before bed. Your pets are treated like one of our own. I make sure that all pets are comfortable with me by giving them any space or attention that they seem to require. I also ensure that they are fed on schedule, always have access to water, have proper enclosures, access to outside bathroom usage, and plenty of exercise. I’ll also take in mail, water plants, any other small homecare acts you might need. Most importantly, I’ll make sure your babies get allll the pets and love they deserve. Your pet and me will be very good friends and you can trust I will prioritize their comfort and needs!

“This was our first time ever boarding Aspen, and as nervous dog parents, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Jill. Aspen is an only child and can be a little needy and barky at times, and she definitely takes a while to warm up to new people. Before the stay, we asked if we could bring Aspen over briefly so she could meet Jill and get familiar with her and the environment. Jill was so kind and flexible in letting us do that, which gave both my partner and me so much peace of mind. To our surprise, Aspen warmed up to Jill and her yard immediately! Drop-off went smoothly, and throughout the weekend Jill took such great care of Aspen. She sent us photos and updates, which kept us in the loop and reassured us that our puppy was happy and doing well. She was also very flexible with pickup since we weren’t sure exactly when we’d be back in town, and that meant a lot. It was such a relief knowing our person-picky girl was in such good hands. I also have experience supporting dogs with mobility challenges, including senior dogs, amputees, and dogs undergoing cancer treatment and chemotherapy. I’ve dog-sat a variety of breeds and personalities, from energetic dogs like Australian Shepherds and Corgis to laid-back companions like Pugs and French Bulldogs. Your dog will stay in our spacious single family home with access to a semi-fenced backyard and plenty of room to relax. I work from home, so I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I’m comfortable administering oral medications and monitoring senior or medically complex dogs. Having cared for Roxy through cancer treatment, including oral chemotherapy, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, and energy levels.
