About: I’ve worked with many different animals, including cats, dogs, birds, hamsters. I love working and caring for them. Patience is needed to make your furry friends feel comfortable. I’ve worked with many large dog breeds, which include malamutes, German shepherds, pitbulls and even Akita’s. I’m currently work during the day so I am free most evenings Sunday through Thursday. I have more availability on Fridays and Saturdays during the day. I make sure the pets are in safe areas for them so that they don’t get into anything that isn’t safe. For 4+ years, I ran with dogs at an animal shelter in Chicago (PAWS, for those who are familiar), allowing me to work with dogs with all types of breeds and temperaments from nervous, anxious dogs, to high-energy assertive dogs. What to expect dog-sitting or walking: My approach will be to make your dog comfortable, happy, and fulfilled. In our initial meeting, I'll ask a ton of questions to understand your dogs likes, dislikes, schedule, and personality. Then, I'll make sure to fill in where I'm needed (couch cuddles, play time, sniffy walks, etc.) - giving your loved one (your dog), a great experience while giving you peace of mind. Afterwards, you can expect pictures and a quick summary, so you know exactly how the visit / walk went. If a walk isn't enough for your dog, consider this: I own a border collie, so I know how hard (i.e., impossible) it is tire out a high-energy dog. If your dog is like mine and needs WAY more than a walk (or three), let me take them on a run at their distance, at their pace. I'll just ask that you have the proper equipment (harness, leash) for your pup and I've got the rest. If you’d like me to run with your pup, select dog walking services and note you’d like a run. Note that running is a flat $5 surcharge (for either a 30 or 60-minute run). About: Animals have always been an immovable part of my life. I grew up on a small goat farm in northern california surrounded by llamas, ducks, geese, 3 beautiful cats, 6 dogs, and of course, goats. Through life on a farm, I have developed an immense love of all creatures, furred, feathered, and scaled. I have also had lots of experience caring for sick and injured animals. I have volunteered with both wild animals rescues, and the humane society. I'm currently in school, so my schedule allows me time in both the mornings and evenings to spend time with your wonderful pets. My weekends are also free. House sitting is my specialty as I do not have too many pet responsibilities at home, giving me more time at yours! I’ve grown up around big dogs, old dogs and cats, and special needs animals, so i’m used to an array of care requirements. About: I was raised in a home full of dogs and cats. We took in any and all strays. Even had a pet duck that lived to be 12 years old. I have bottle fed puppies that the mom dog was too spoiled to care for and my English Bulldog taught me so much about how to deal with a dog with medical challenges. I'm patient and kind.
