“Beyond happy with Christine! She took care of our baby just as we would! Thoughtful and loving! We hope to have her be Clover’s sitter from now on! Can’t say enough good things!!”

“Wow, I am beyond happy that I found Marion to watch my dogs. She goes above and beyond. She takes very good care of them and sends pictures throughout their stay. She is also very easy to communicate with. She watched my dogs Sierra and Simba. Sierra is a 10 year old golden retriever, and Simba is a 16 year old Pekingese. Simba is blind and deaf. He is a very old dog. She did an incredible job with both dogs. She wiped and cleaned the eye boogers out of my elderly dog’s eyes and changed his diapers (he’s incontinent). She made sure the dogs got so much love and attention throughout the day. The dogs had free range of a fenced yard and were allowed up on the furniture. Sierra loves to hang out on furniture. I am so happy I came across Marion. The dogs were very well cared for. My heart is happy. I know exactly where to take them if I ever need a dog sitter. Thank you so much, Marion. -Kelsey”

“This was the first time my dog stays in a sitter's home while I went on a 10-day vacation out of the country. I'm very pleased that Jesse and his son Christopher took good care of my dog. We were able to communicate during my trip using the Rover app and also I could see my dog on screen using Skype video call. Thanks to Jesse and his family, now I feel more comfortable leaving my dog behind when I'm out of town.”

“Denise took wonderful care for our Standard Poodle with high standards! I really appreciated the care and attention she gave to ensure he ate. We will definitely be using her again!!”

“Johemy was amazing with our Daisy! She sent us daily pics, and it was obvious Daisy thrived in her care. Excellent communication from the very start. We would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter! Thank you so much Johemy!”

“Christina made it super easy. Really fast responses. Good clear communication. Most importantly, my dogs had a great time and came back home wagging and smiling. Very highly recommended.”

“Donna was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of FiFi and kept me updated the whole time, which gave me real peace of mind. You can tell she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. FiFi came home happy, calm, and well cared for. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter — highly recommend Donna to anyone looking for someone kind, reliable, and caring!”

“This was my second time using Rover so there’s still some hesitation on my part. However, Kalikonani was amazing! I have a senior dog so knowing that she had a senior pup of her own, made me feel relieved that she’d understand my dog. She provided pics, updates, and was a great communicator. I definitely recommend her and will be booking with her again in the future :)”

“Yessina and Sophie and their 3 children were the perfect introduction for my 6 month old puppy, Pixie, to experience her 1st dog sitters! They were very kind and gentle with her and her shyness didn’t faze them. Buster my 8 year old terrier who is cautious around strangers, but a real gentleman, picked his spots to lay down and wait patiently and was calm when I arrived. Even though both dogs refused to eat while they were there for the day, I was very happy with the care given by this family. They really listened to me and followed my suggestions! I’m planning on returning and rebooking with them!”

“Angie was a great sitter for our dog while we left for 1.5 weeks. She kept him busy and happy, with plenty of photos! Will definitely rebook the next time we’re out of town.”

“My little dog had a wonderful time with Cecelia and Richard. Their daughter took Daisy on Walks and they sent pictures of Daisy laying in the sun and in the backyard. Thank you! We will book again as needed”

About: I’m the mom to a cat named Zeppelin, a dog named Stevie and a horse named Cece. I successfully trained both Stevie and Zeppelin (yes you can train a cat!) myself and have dabbled in equine training as well. Being the guardian of a nervous, reactive pup, I pride myself on understanding animal behavior and dog body language. After bringing Stevie home, I was quickly thrown into the world of dog training and behavior modification out of necessity and I have a special place in my heart for nervous pups. I've even started training other people's dogs on the side! After training my own dog, I fell in love with the process and couldn't put it down! I’ve also worked in a veterinary office and feel confident in my abilities to keep your animals safe and know how to handle emergencies. I’m a lab assistant for an environmental toxicology lab and train dogs on the side. I am available for drop ins and walks in the late afternoon and evening most days as well as any time on Sunday’s. At this time I am not available for boarding or overnight stays. I’ll treat your pets like I treat my own, all of mine are rescues that took time, patience and trust to get to where we are now. I understand that having a new person around might be scary for your pet at first but I look forward to building a relationship with them so we all feel safe and comfortable. Having a nervous, reactive dog and a nervous cat has taught me how to better understand dog and cat body language and to go at their own pace.

“Carol was absolutely wonderful. She took care of our dog and cat for 10 days during Christmas break. She was professional and went above and beyond our expectations. She was attentive to their needs and allowed both of them to be relaxed and happy while we were gone. Carol sent me daily updates and photos of how they are doing. I would highly recommend her services to everyone and for sure will book with her again! ”

“Sonia was a great help. It was a last minute trip but she always came (even on holidays) and was there feeding and spending time with our kitties and playing with them, making sure they were doing well. Will absolutely be hiring her again! Highly suggest hiring Sonia!”

“Kirby took care of my two kitties while I was away, and she did a wonderful job! She was great with communication, punctual, and she provided pictures/updates with every visit. I would definitely trust her to look after them again!”

“Sam and Yuchen provided daycare for us while we did a quick half day to the aquarium. Elphie is new to rover day care and they did amazing and accommodating. They are also super quick to reply whenever I sent a message which is a whole 5 stars in its own. Will definitely contact them again for dog sitting when we are in the area”

“Kalikonani is a lovely young lady who kindly cares for her dog and another small, older dog. She asked several questions before accepting the booking to be sure it would be a comfortable and safe environment for those (charming) dogs and mine. She gave me a detailed account of the entire time my dog was there with several photos. I would definitely book her again if I lived in the area or if I visit again.”

“Carol was wonderful. She accommodated a last minute request after two other Rovers canceled on us. Oni was well taken care of care of and seemed like she’d had a great time. We will definitely turn to Carol again next time we are in town.”

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong passion for animals and extensive hands-on experience caring for them. I’ve been a dog owner since I was 15, and I currently have two French Bulldogs, which has given me a deep understanding of breed-specific needs, puppy energy, and senior pet care. Over the years, I’ve learned how to read dogs’ body language, understand their moods, and respond calmly and effectively to keep them safe and happy. Professionally, I’ve worked in both an animal hospital and a doggy daycare, where I gained experience with feeding routines, administering basic care, monitoring health and behavior, and handling pets of all sizes and temperaments. I’m also skilled in creating structured routines, providing gentle exercise, and giving extra love and attention to pets who need it, like seniors or shy dogs. I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and attentive. I make sure to communicate clearly with pet owners, providing regular updates and photos so they can feel confident and at ease while they’re away. For me, every pet deserves individualized care, respect, and affection, and I treat each one as if they were my own. My combination of personal experience, professional training, and genuine love for animals ensures that every pet in my care feels safe, happy, and truly cared for. Caring for pets is part of my daily routine. I make sure they get fed, exercised, and plenty of love every day, and I stay on top of any special needs or routines. I enjoy spending time with them and making sure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for. I care for pets by keeping them safe, comfortable, and happy. I follow their routines, supervise playtime and walks, provide lots of love and attention, and make sure the environment is clean and secure. I also watch for any signs of stress or health issues so pets always feel well cared for.

“My doggies were happy with Jesse. He was very attentive. Excellent communication. He sent us photos which made us happy to know they were comfortable. Thank you Jesse.”

“Denise was so welcoming with our nervous pup, Cooper! She sent lots of photos, video, and updates and Cooper enjoyed walks and a wonderful yard to roam in :) I would highly recommend Denise! If I’m ever back in Monterey with Cooper, I know I can count on Denise!”

“Johemy was great! My little Brigid was so well cared for. I love leaving her with someone who is loving and caring. I appreciate how nurturing she was to her. I would definitely recommend!”

About: My preferred name is Artemisia (my legal name is Paola), and I’ll be your pet’s main sitter and caretaker. I share my home with my boyfriend, Ahmed, who may occasionally lend a hand here and there, but I’m the person responsible for your pet’s care, communication, walks, feeding, and day to day routine. I believe animals deserve the absolute best care, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I grew up with both cats and dogs and currently care for an adorable cat and two puppies, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and needs. I work from home, which means your pet will have lots of attention, care, and supervision throughout the day. I bring a calm, intuitive presence and really take the time to get to know each animal and what makes them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime and a little training, or would rather have a cozy day full of naps and cuddles, I tailor their care to what they enjoy most (usually a mix of both!). I live in a house with a large backyard, so there’s plenty of space to play and get outside. Ahmed is also an animal lover and may be around during your pet’s stay, but I am the primary caretaker for all bookings and will be the one you communicate with about your pet. Whether you’re traveling, working, or simply need an extra hand, you can feel confident knowing your pet will be in a safe, loving, and attentive environment with someone who genuinely cares about making their time away from you as comfortable and happy as possible. I work from home, so your pet will have company and care throughout most of the day alongside my own pets. If your dog enjoys walks or outings like the beach, I’d love to include them with mine. Otherwise, they’ll be relaxing at home in a calm, attentive environment and won’t be left alone for more than about an hour (if they’re comfortable with short periods of alone time). I make sure my pets get a healthy balance of play, structure, and rest. With my dog, I focus on plenty of playtime and ongoing training, which helps her burn energy and settle into naps while I work. My cat prefers a calmer routine and spends most of her day relaxing in her own space, but I always make time for snuggles and connection so she feels loved and secure. I’m very attentive to each pet’s needs and energy levels. If a dog becomes tired or overstimulated, I’m happy to crate them for a peaceful reset if that’s part of their routine. For cats, I create a cozy, quiet space where they can feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. There is plenty of room in our house and yard to create separate spaces for pets to have their own areas (for sleep, food, play, etc.) if that is what they prefer. ❤️
“Yessica was absolutely amazing, Theo was literally wagging his tail going back the next day. She gave me consistent updates and clearly loved having him there, he was so tired coming home because he was being played with so much! Thank you for the time and care you dedicated to my baby, definitely will be rebooking the next time I need dog daycare. ♥️”

“Cori is the sweetest and nicest sitter I have met in Salinas. I was pretty excited to leave Moon with her because she seemed to understand huskys and their attitudes and shenanigans they tend to come with. She never made me feel bad about moons behaviors and I loved that. Moon had seemed to have a little bit of a rough time because she does not like cats and we both assumed it might be because she smelled a lot around the neighborhood cori lives in. Moon howled and barked A Lot and I appreciate cori for putting up with that. She kept me updated throughout the day while I was at work, sending pictures and Videos of Moon outside and playing with her fluffster Cress. I wish Moon was not so reactive to cats because i would love to have cori watch her more often. Cori has even let me know I can always use her as a back up sitter if need be. I appreciate the last few days you have watched moon! Thank you so much Cori! I would never hesitate to allow Cori to watch my Moon girl:)”

“We stopped into Monterey on a road trip and were so glad to find someone local who could give them a loving place to play and be comfy while we enjoyed the town for a few while! Thanks Christina!”

About: Hello, my name is Sonia! I have worked with various organizations throughout Monterey County, where I received training in animal behavior and boarding. Over the past five years, I’ve gained valuable experience creating daily routines that help animals feel comfortable and cared for. I am currently a volunteer at the SPCA clinic as a vet assistant, and help at the cat and dog adoption center. I have also worked at a local veterinary clinic and am now a full-time Rover sitter! I am CPR certified and comfortable administering both oral medications and injections. During my time on Rover, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful pets and building great relationships with both them and their owners. I love sending daily photos and updates so pet parents can feel at ease while they’re away. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns—I’m always happy to help. Thank you! :) P.S. My pup Tommy does not accompany me to visits or house sittings, so no worries if your pet prefers to be the only animal in the home. :) Hello, welcome to my page! A little about me: I have a degree in Molecular Biology from California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and am currently pursuing a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. My school schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Outside of those hours, I have flexible availability, including Tuesdays, Thursdays, weekends, and most afternoons and evenings. I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walks. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and routine, so I always like to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand. It gives us a chance to make sure everyone feels comfortable and helps me provide the best care possible for your furry family member. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I have 9 years of previous experience with boarding animals and work well with sticking to the specifics of every pet's needs. I have experience with all different breeds, including those requiring extra medical attention. I am trained in administering injections as well. I can also care for reptiles, birds, and any other pet in the household.

“Carol agreed in Oct to have visits to meet our dog in preparation for Xmas trip. Our dog is really scared of strangers. It took 6-7 visits for our dog to get used to Carol. Carol was very patient with it. She was flexible working out times and was able to do some walking visits at Xmas. She contacted us with updates and questions and we felt like our dog was in good hands. We will continue to work with Carol now that our dog has another person she likes! ”

“Claudia is our first experience with Rover and because of her, we will definitely be using again! I received many updates and photos of our pup while in her care. She took Sabine our twice a day for 30 min walks and I feel like she was in excellent hands! Everyone who met Claudia had wonderful things to say about her. Would HIGHLY recommend!”

-Kelsey”

“Denise took wonderful care for our Standard Poodle with high standards! I really appreciated the care and attention she gave to ensure he ate. We will definitely be using her again!!”

About: I have a deep love and passion for animals. I have cared for many types including cats, dogs, snakes, rabbits, even insects! I am a volunteer at a local animal shelter, so I have a great deal of experience handling animals from all walks of life. I recently relocated, so I am offering discounted rates as well as a promo code for first time Rover users: DANIEA95969 If you have a dog with reactivity, I am happy to help! Reactivity can be a stressful matter for owners to endure with their pet, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be outside and explore. Feel free to message me with questions if you would like to set up walks with your reactive dog. I also have experience with senior dog care including walking challenges, diaper changes, and oral medication. No matter the breed or size, I will care for them like my own. I am happy to do day walks, at-home visits, overnights etc. I will do my best to accommodate any repeat clients as I want your pets to feel bonded and comfortable with me! I will always put your pet's comfort and happiness first! I know with my own dog that trusting a stranger with your fur baby can be nerve wracking, but I can assure you, your pet will be in great hands;
“Helen took great care of my almost 10 week kitten! I was a little nervous since he was so young but I could tell she (and her family) loved him like their own for the week she watched him. She sent me photos and videos every day, which was awesome too.”

“Brenden is amazing and took such great care of Mulligan! We were able to fully enjoy a wedding celebration knowing our dog was in great hands. Brenden took the dogs hiking and lots of play was had which was perfect to tire Mulligan out ahead of our 6 hour drive home. Highly recommend!!!”

“Nina was an excellent and communicative sitter for my dog. She has a great yard and I think my dog already misses it! Nina’s dog Ranie is a great playmate and kindly shared her toys with my dog. I just moved to this area, so I feel really lucky to have found Nina right away!”

“All I can say is that Asja was a complete professional. We have a large German Sheppard with a ton on energy and we have never left him with anyone before so we were worried he’d be too much. However, Asja took such great care of him, everyday taking him for walks or to the park, giving him love and attention, and communicating with us daily. He was clearly well taken care of and very well loved. We 100% recommend Asja for any pet services. She is the best we could ever have hoped for!”

About: I’ve taken care of two dogs and three cats at one time. I have house sat for two families and have no problem doing it again! I have experience working with big dogs, small dogs, disabled dogs, and have even given medication to dogs in pill form. I am not allergic to cats or dogs and I’m very stern on the animal getting comfortable with me in their own time. I am a stay-at-home wife, so I have all the time in the world. I don't have all the energy in the world though. I go for walks on nice days with my own dog often, but more than that, I can't because of health reasons. In my home, my animals don't have a set schedule or regimen. I go with their ques and roll with their punches. I can follow a schedule to the T if said baby needs one, especially for medications! I treat every animal (even strays) with love and care as if they were my own.

“Jill was so amazing with our dog, Meike! We were so nervous to leave her for the first time, but she was in great hands. Jill was amazing at giving her love and making her feel comfortable. She also made sure to play with her daily. We loved the daily updates and pictures. We would recommend Jill and will definitely be contacting her if we need a pet sitter in the future. She’s amazing!”

“Our pet had a fantastic experience with Molly and her family. Molly and her family were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Molly was extremely supportive, accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend Molly, and we will return our pet to Molly again in the future.”

“Athena was great with my dog, Donner! She was able to watch him with only a few days notice. Took him on walks and updated us with pictures. It was so nice for Donner to get all the attention being the only dog there. I will definitely be booking Donner for another stay in the future. Thank you so much Athena and Will for giving Donner the best care while we were on vacation!”

“Riley was amazing and very flexible. It was a last minute booking and I had to extend Beemer’s stay to which he was very accommodating. Beemer was walked several times a day which he loved! We would definitely use Riley again!”
