“May was great! My dog loved her instantly when doing the meeting session. She was wiggling and trying to rub up against her. It was my first time leaving my dog with someone. We've had her for a little over a year, but her previous owners abandoned her during their vacation. Luckily, she seemed to be just fine because she was with May. She sent us updates and didn't hesitate to send a picture or video if I asked how she was doing. They went on little adventures together. She went to the pumpkin patch and then had a Hawaiian day later on. It was great not having to worry about if she was okay. The only thing I had to worry about was if Tuesday would want to come home when we went to pick her up. It was nice feeling like my partner and I were having our own vacation as a couple, and Tuesday got her own vacation with May. The location is perfect for us. There are a ton of good walking areas that are pretty safe around where she lives. Her house is very clean and dog friendly as well. I didn't have to worry that she might get into something. She works from home which really helped since it was our first time leaving her. I'm happy to know that if we need a dog sitter, we will know where to go next time! We couldn't be happier with the whole experience. PS: her dog is out of town right now, but I think it comes back soon. She is just moving back from out of state. I was concernedTuesday would be lonely at first, but once I saw all the activities and photos; Tuesday didn't seem to mind. I am looking forward to them being able to play next time. :)”

About: Being around dogs since childhood, I'm very sensitive to their needs. As a prior dog owner myself, I've dealt with several situations, in working with dogs during rehab, caring for a dog with special needs and adapting to senior care. I have also taken care of dogs for friends and coworkers. For the time being, my services come as a package deal. Please only book if your dog is for certain comfortable with toddlers. My child has been exposed to different dogs, including larger dogs such as a lab, and he knows to be respectful and give them their space. There will be no tail pulling, taunting or any other form of bullying permitted while we are with your pet, as we are to be gentle with all animals. For shorter drop-ins or walks I can have my child secured in a hiking backpack. Currently, I/we are best available for weekend sits, though weekend or evening walks and check-ins are also available. We are also available for longer stays if your pet is used to you being at work during the week. We'd love the opportunity to get puppy love when when possible. First and foremost, I understand that every pet is different, with unique needs, temperaments and personalities. Some are just fine while their owner is away, while others may display anxious behavior during this time. It is my goal that no matter what they experience, that they be as comfortable as possible. Of course I would be mindful of what your pets are and are not allowed... in my own experience, I was never one to give my dog human treats unless it was a very special occasion, so I can be respectful and understanding of any rules specific to your preference for your dog(s). I am happy to take them outside, drive them to a nearby park if that is something you are comfortable with, I think communication when it comes to your loved one is key.

Most recently, 2 years with a Shih Tzu, Sola, and have cared for her throughout our time together. I have watched over my friend’s pets for weeks on end and enjoy the time we spend together. We still keep in contact with their new loving families! I am currently working from home on a part time schedule, so my schedule is pretty open and flexible. A crate is for when she is feeling stressed and a fuzzy home for when she wants privacy. We have an understanding to not cross her boundaries and when she enters those spaces, we give her the privacy she requests. Understanding animals boundaries is important to me, for my safety, their wellbeing, and to maintain trust, especially if I’m a stranger to them.
About: I’ve owned a female Rottweiler since I was 10 years old and I was responsible for training her, I taught her all the basic tricks and even taught her how to give me a fist pump. She was very tame and loved socializing with other dogs. After I moved out for college, I tended to my older sister’s two dogs, one medium sized and the other extra large. I would play fetch with them every time I visited and did some dog sitting for them as well. My mom recently got a small toy poodle which I love to play with whenever they come to visit. About: I’ve had dogs off and on all my life. I love animals of all kinds and treat your pet like my own! My partner and I currently have a 2 year old pit mix Lucy. Lucy is a gentle, loving girl and an exceptional hostess. Depending on the cues given by her visiting dog friends, she will play with them, cuddle them, or give them their space. Lucy is the best companion for any dog missing its owner. Both my partner and I work from home during the week so someone is always available for potty breaks or belly rubs. Dogs are not left unattended for more than a few hours at a time. We have a single family home with a fully fenced yard. We have enough space to crate your dog or put them in a separate room if needed. We do have a dog of our own and two cats. The cats don’t mind dog visitors and stay away when friends are over. Dogs are allowed on furniture and in the bed.

About: Welcome To the Barbells Barkyard, where we have something for everyone! Whether your dog is crazy energetic or laid back and wants to snooooze, we are for you! we play often in the backyard but my 9 yr old also created a little oasis in his room for the dogs who prefer less space. we always make sure their comfort comes first! We have cared for animals our entire lives and have always known wanted to work with animals in some capacity so when we discovered rover, this became the perfect path for both my wife and i! We are both AVID animal lovers and treat each furbaby like family! we are both home full time and will seldomly leave them alone/if at all. We both know CPR and basic first aid for animals. A typical day will include lots of play time both inside and outside, enrichment activities (such as a ball pit, sniff spots, etc), water play time (if they feel so inclined :) ). we also provide treats- all 1 ingredient, healthy options so we do not upset their tummies, lots of bed options, allow them on the couches if you are okay with that, and all the toys they can dream of. we clean and sanitize the entire house daily and we ask for each client to be on flea meds to prevent any unwanted friends :) Our primary goal is to help the people of our community be able to have BOTH great loving top dollar care that you are confident in AND is affordable. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and make sure to send lots of pictures and videos throughout the stay. I offer walks, drop-ins, and in-home care. I follow routines closely and keep owners updated with messages, pictures, and notes throughout the stay. Whether your pet wants snuggles on the couch or adventures outdoors, I’m happy to make their time enjoyable. In my home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable and part of the family. I follow their normal feeding and potty routines, provide regular walks/playtime, and make sure they have safe spaces to rest. I offer lots of supervision and affection, and I send photo updates throughout the day. Pets are treated with patience and respect, and their comfort always comes first. I’m happy to accommodate crates, specific schedules, and any special needs so they feel at home.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for most my life. I've had up to three dogs of my own at a time. Had to say goodbye to two of them last year. I have a one year sweet pup named Lucy that has been great around all dogs big and small. I work full time from home so I am more than happy to have your dog for the day while you're at work, or for the night if you're away. I can stop in to let your dog out throughout the day if needed. I do have 2 cats in the house so would need dogs that are cat friendly or ignore them. Look forward to meeting your pup! About: Hi! I'm Jonathan, a San Diego local. I've owned dogs for more than 20 years. The first dog that was all my own was Parker, a corgi-beagle mix. I got him at 8 weeks old and cared for him until he passed at age 9. He loved spending time at dog beaches, dog-friendly restaurants, and breweries. Prior to Parker I had Alley, a rescued mini poodle mix. I cared for her into her adult and senior years, until she reached about 19 years old. My years with Parker and Alley taught me that every dog has their own pace, but they all appreciate structure. They also taught me the importance of paying attention and getting to know each dog. Dogs can't tell you when something's off, so small changes in appetite and behavior matter. I like to be playful and goofy with dogs (I talk to them like people), but I also know it's my job to make sure they feel safe and know what to expect. I will follow your established routine and rules, and can also help reinforce good behaviors. What you and your fur baby can expect: - Reliability. My schedule is flexible and mostly open on weekdays, so I can do midday walks, last-minute drop-ins, and stays of any length, including single nights. If plans change, I tell you right away. - Clear communication. You'll get a photo and a quick note after every visit so you always know how your dog is doing. - Walks that are more than a potty break. I like getting outside and exploring new routes and spots, and I keep control of the walk so it stays safe. - Experience beyond walks. I've cared for dogs overnight, including week-long stays. I'm comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, and every age in between. I'd love to do a meet-and-greet with you and your dog, so we can get comfortable before the first visit.
