Dogs in my care should be comfortable spending a 1-2 hours independently at a time while I am running errands, or attending to other commitments (picking kid up from camp or school for example). Mondays and Thursdays are typically office days, so these days are my longest periods away from home (~8 hours during the day). Outside of those times, dogs receive plenty of attention, affection, walks, and care. I want both pets and their owners to feel comfortable and at ease. I watch their body languages carefully to know when to pause a play and what they need from me :) Leia and I usually go for a walk in the morning, around 5 in the afternoon and quick bathroom break before going to bed. About: I’ve cared for many different kinds of pets since high school. Just in the last two years I’ve learned a lot about dog behavior as my husband and I have adopted two pups of our own. They are both around 2. I love to play and teach them as we are all growing together as a family. I had a dog in high school as well and walked her everyday. I also helped care for our kitties, as we had a few growing up. We also have three kitties now whom we love and play with everyday. Pets are like kids, they all have their own personalities and it’s fun to learn who they are just like people. I’m currently working an odd schedule and it’s been quite slow. Would be nice to make a little extra cash while helping someone else exercise their pup, or take care of them. I like to let pets get to know me and some need more time than others. Depending on the pet they may come to greet me or hide. It’s best to let the pet approach me first when they are ready. I like to use treats for commands, rewards, and/or bribes. Pets love to play and I am good at that! Outside is a little more dangerous as you never know what another person’s dog is like. I usually avoid strange dogs and anything that I see could be harmful. I like a close leash to make sure pets don’t eat strange things on the ground and I can watch them closely to look out for something before they get to it. Pets are quick and you have to see it before they do!

About: I’m one of those people who spots a dog and instantly wants to go play/pet it. I have a 2 year old super mutt pittie mix. I learned a lot about training and handling dogs through her. I’m great at being consistent with training, for example when my friends are training their dog I make sure to reinforce the rules to their expectations. So please just let me know what you’re working on and I’ll make sure to keep up the training when I interact with the dog. As long as I have a list of what the dog needs I can make it happen and show lots of love. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages and breeds. However, if a dog is easily agitated by other dogs I would need to know so I can have a plan for that. I will make sure to give your dog enough exercise, I love playing fetch and tug a war. I will do home visits to play with your pet or go to feed them. I can do this with cats too! I am off for the summer and have a pretty open calendar! About: I grew up in a household with furry family members my whole life. Once I moved out, I had my own reptile companions with me. Upon settling into a permanent lifestyle, I became a mother of 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have experience with animal husbandry on farms and homesteads: horses, chickens, ducks, cats, dogs, and pigs. I have experience with exotic animals, including reptiles, birds, and snakes. I have experience with Dog Widwifery, when 2 dogs on a homestead I lived on became pregnant. I assisted the mother dogs to deliver their puppies: 1 mama delivered 8, and 1 mama delivered 9. I looked after these 2 mama dogs and their 17 puppies for 8 weeks until they were old enough for adoption. My 2 dog children were Bear and Agwedjiman - lab/great dane/mastiff breeds. My dog nephew, Dexter, is a schipperke. I have a strong love for cats and dogs, and appreciate their compassionate, gentle and calming nature. I love being around animals and making them happy, as well as making sure all their needs are met with great care.

I currently work from home and live right by a huge dog friendly park. Very easy to take them out as I already take mines out about 4 or 5 times a day.
