About: Last year I said goodbye to my 17 year-old dog Max, just a few months after my cat Scotty passed away suddenly from kidney disease. Thankfully, Scotty's sister Star is still with me and thriving, but I really miss being around and caring for other animals. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs and the gentle care they require. I'm also very familiar with younger dogs of all sizes. And I've fostered a lot of cats - mainly kittens - which is how Star and Scotty originally came into my life. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet - whether it be walks, drop-ins, boarding or pet-sitting. I work part-time, teaching improv and also teach at an academy for gifted and neurodivergent homeschool students. The classes are short and nearby (and are not every day) so I'm never gone for more than 2-4 hours. Which leaves me plenty of time to spend with your pet! Throughout my life, I’ve opened my heart to many a pooch, including a beautiful epileptic Dalmation, a feisty pocket Shih Tzu (that one of my students brought to school in a backpack), an adorably lazy Bijon-Maltese mix who came to stay for a weekend and stayed 10 years -- and most recently a spirited 13 year old Terrier mix that we brought home after his person died unexpectedly. I have a fenced yard, leashes, bowls, a medium sized dog crate if necessary, lots of healthy snacks and lots of time for walks and doggie massages. In 2017 I met my first friendly street cat which sent me on a journey from “strict dog person” to “cat lady.” I have since adopted two cats, Bean and Raisin, and fostered more than a dozen adult cats and kittens. I also work closely with an organization doing TNR in my community--trapping neighborhood cats and spay/neutering them. I have a 2nd bedroom that I use as both my office and cat zone with toys if your cat needs his/her own space but am also a friendly home for a rambunctious cat. Bean is very passive and chill, while Raisin just wants to make friends and play. I’m a trusted cat mom and foster mom and will cuddle your fur babies just like you would if you were home with them! I know how important it is to a pet parent's peace of mind while away from their animal to know how they're doing so I always make sure I send pictures and regular updates. Please note that due to my cats, I only board other cats in my home—no dogs. And I only board one client at a time. Rover doesn't give the opportunity to specify this. I can do drop ins for other animals in your home no problem! I work from home and can occasionally have period of hiatus from work with lots of free time to dedicate to doing drop ins and being there for any boarding guests. I am very strict about indoors only for cats given my history with TNR. Also because I'm an experienced trapper, if somehow your cat escapes my care, I have the skills and equipment and knowledge to get them back for you. “I have nothing, but high praises to sing about Tyler & Ashley! These two are heaven sent. I had an emergency visit at the hospital and had nobody in town to look after my puppy overnight. I immediately reached out to Ashley & Tyler and within minutes received a reply. They were incredibly and genuinely happy to help me in a dire situation, to look after my puppy that same night who stayed with them till the next day. I don’t know what I would have done without Tyler and Ashley’s help and kindness to look after my darling puppy. These two looked after my fluff ball as if it were their own and I was not once concerned about the well being of my puppy whilst she was a boarding guest at Tyler’s and Ashley’s. They fed her, played with her and even took her to a dog park during my absence! Above all, they went above and beyond to accommodate and aid me in giving my pupster a warm home till I was released from the hospital. The whole time I received pictures with updates such that I would not worry. Communication was top notch and it is obvious that their love for animals is genuine. I would not hesitate to leave my dog with Tyler & Ashley again and highly recommend this lovely couple if you ever need a dog sitter. My experience was amazing and I can only hope that other dog sitters are as communicative, genuine, kind, lovely and beautiful souls as Tyler and Ashley are. “Our original sitter was impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire, which resulted in us scrambling to find another sitter. Our dog Mabel spends a lot of time with me since I work from home, so I was a little anxious about how she would do overnight with someone she didn’t know. At her previous sitters, she barked for the first two hours during a daycare trial. At Cynthia’s, she made fast friends with Yoshi and Mamba and made herself right at home. Cynthia sent photos and updates about Mabel’s play, sleep, and eating. Mabel received snuggles and so much attention from the whole family. She came back happy and without any transitional behavioral issues she had with her first sitter. Even though I work from home, I think sending Mabel in for daycare every now and then would be a great way for her to be social and play. She had so much fun and I know she’d love to come back. Cynthia lives up to the hype.”
