If I could have a dog of my own, I would, but given my strict pet policy, I will gladly take the alternative, which is watching someone else’s. About: Pets have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a house with four dogs and two cats, then moved out at 18 and still had two dogs and two cats with my sister. I’ve never not had animals around. I just moved from Alaska to California and for the first time ever I don’t have any pets of my own. I miss it and have a lot of love to give. Back home I did a lot of house and pet sitting for friends and family, including regularly taking care of a house with six cats. I grew up with dogs from infancy, and my first dog was a German Shepherd named Pooch who joined our family when I was still a baby. At 12 years old, I started my own dog walking business and volunteered with local rescues before eventually founding my own nonprofit, Akira Animal Rescue, which focuses on medical dogs and puppies. Growing up, I also cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments — including a rescued street dog, a Pomeranian mix, and a Lhasa Apso. Having both large and small dogs throughout my life helped me understand different energy levels, personalities, and care needs from an early age. I also have extensive medical experience with dogs through both rescue work and personal experience. My senior dog Akira developed liver disease and seizures later in life, and I helped manage his care and medications until he peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Akira inspired my rescue work and deepened my understanding of anxious, reactive, and medically sensitive dogs. When I met him at 7 years old, he struggled with resource guarding and trust issues, but over time he transformed into a calm, loving dog who slept at our feet every night. In December 2023, we adopted two Siberian Husky littermates who are incredibly social, gentle, and loving with other dogs — especially smaller dogs. I also currently have two sweet foster dogs from my rescue who have been in my care long term. They are the only dogs from my rescue in my home — all others are with other fosters. I now provide full-time premium daycare and boarding from my private, 1 acre, gated home in Beverly Hills Post Office. I have another home in Hollywood Hills where I offer boarding at a lower cost, though dogs are not attended overnight there. “We boarded our fur baby, Mano, with Tyler for two nights during our vacation. We were a bit concerned because Mano had never been boarded before and had diarrhea 4 days before the start of his boarding. However, Mano did one day of daycare to get to know Tyler earlier during the week, so we knew Tyler was a fantastic sitter. Throughout Mano's stay, Tyler gave us updates with the cutest photos of Mano and was very communicative, responsive, and accommodating. We requested change of the drop-off time due to a family member wanting to meet us at the resort earlier that morning, and Tyler had no problem changing the time one day before the drop-off. We were 23 minutes past the pickup time due to the valet forgetting our car and the insane traffic in SoCal. Tyler was so accommodating with all the uncertainties. We feed Mano homemade food in a special food bowl made for French Bulldogs. Tyler cleaned all of Mano's food containers and food bowl when sending him back to us. Tyler respects your pet's unique needs and routine, which is very important to us. He also takes the best photos of your fur baby. I really appreciate Tyler's calm personality and his ability to match Mano's energy level and needs. Mano can be a total couch potato (he is a Frenchie), but it was evident that Tyler took him out on plenty of walks. Mano came back with bigger calluses on his front paws, which meant he got plenty of exercise. We will definitely book with Tyler again.”
About: I have always loved animals ever since I was a kid. Whether it was pet sitting a family friends dog or feeding my neighbors cats, I have always found joy in caring for animals. Before my family adopted our dog Amber I would pet sit dogs as often as possible. These experiences have taught me many lessons and helped me to have patience and provide dogs and cats with the right amount of support. My family adopted our dog Amber seven years ago and I have been her primary care taker including feeding and walking her. We got her as a puppy and I was responsible for training her. Amber gets along very well with other pets and we have had other dogs stay with us, and they get along very well. I also worked at a doggy day care facility that included a swimming portion, where I would monitor and motivate dogs to swim and get a good workout in. This job helped me gain experience with all different sizes and temperaments of dogs. I was able to manage up to 15 dogs at a time, making sure no fights broke out and they all stayed happy. My schedule is very open I work a part time job for about 10 hours a week. I keep my schedule updated to avoid any confusion. When caring for your dog I will first start slow let the dog/cat get acclimated to me and according to your instructions feed, walk, and care for your pet. I can stay as long as requested help your pet with whatever is needed. I am so excited to meet your pets and if you have any questions I am happy to answer them!
