“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”

“Leaving my dog with someone new always makes me a bit nervous, but from the very beginning, Sophia made both me and my dog feel completely at ease. She welcomed us so warmly and even invited us for a meet-and-greet at her home before the actual stay so my dog could get used to the environment. That extra time really made a difference! I can tell my dog felt so comfortable when I dropped him off a few days later. Sophia’s home is a truly dog-friendly place. Her family's living room, comfy sofa, and even their beds were all open to dogs. I’m very particular about hygiene and cleanliness wherever my dog stays, and Sophia’s home was spotless. They also have a lovely backyard where dogs can safely relax, play, and relieve themselves. Everything about her home and her family radiates kindness and genuine love for animals. Before the stay, she asked me how often I’d like to receive updates: once a day, 2-3 times, 3-4 times, or as often as possible. When I hesitated, she kindly suggested 3-4 times a day, which turned out to be perfect. She sent photos and videos at just the right moments, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was traveling. To my surprise, she took my dog out for walks three to four times a day and even cooked fresh, homemade meals for him. Watching the videos, I could tell my dog wasn't being used to just "pose for the camera," but he had truly bonded with Sophia. My dog became Sophia's velcro dog! My dog had his chin and paw resting on Sophia’s arm or leg, looking up at her so lovingly...and trust me, the poodle side of him is way too smart (and a little cocky) to be made to do that. I know that kind of moment can’t be staged. You could see in his eyes how much he adored her. When I brought him home afterward, there was no sign of separation anxiety at all, which says everything about how happy and secure he felt at her place. What touched me even more was Sophia’s thoughtfulness. When I went to pick up my dog, she handed me some Korean food to take home. It was an incredibly kind gesture that showed how caring and considerate she is. Sophia’s entire family is wonderful. Her daughters are polite and kind, and the atmosphere in their home is simply beautiful. Honestly, for the level of care and attention she provides, her rate feels incredibly modest. I am beyond grateful for her kindness, professionalism, and love for animals. I would 100% trust Sophia again to care for my dog and will absolutely rebook with her in the future. Highly, highly recommended!”

About: For the last 6 years I have had different friends and family rely on me for dog, cat, and rabbit care. I have been responsible for scheduled feedings, bathing, walks, and of course playing and quality time. My goal is always to be communicative, reliable, and adaptable to any and all of your pets individual needs. I currently work full-time in retail with a schedule that varies per week, but would love to use any of my free time and days off to spend with pets. All shifts are 8 hours or less and I am more than willing to make time before or after (or both) any of my shifts. My biggest priority in any situation is to remain communicative and careful, as I understand what it’s like to have your pet in somebody else’s care. In cases of pet-sitting in your home I can be trusted to be respectful of all belongings, keeping a clean space, and going above and beyond care instructions. In cases of boarding in my home, I live in a two story house in the hills of Scotts Valley with two other animal-loving housemates. “Kendra, our sitter, was maximally sweet! The setting was a bit rough. Our kitty lived upstairs in a private room without furniture but well heated. So make sure you bring bedding your kitty will be comfortable with. Also, the household has a large friendly dog that likes to bark at strangers. Our kitty wouldn't be comfortable hanging around with him. But if your cat likes dawgs, this is the place for them! Doggie lives downstairs; kitty was upstairs. Never the twain would meet! Overall, definitely recommended. The pricing is affordable, the setting comfortable, and we know the sitter gave our kitty all the attention she wanted.”

About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: I take my dogs for runs, and I travel with her some times! I love watching after dogs and being physical! Exercise is very important! Currently I live with family and they help take care of our animals as well and take my dog and cat for walks, we live in nature so they sun bathe and frolic . I can offer going to peoples houses and that means making sure they're well fed and entertained and just really taking care of them anyway they need. I've also had an animal that had surgery so I'm familiar with giving shots and pills as well!

“Sumaira is always on time and I know I can count on her to take good care of my fur babies. While walking my Siberian Husky another dog that was unleased attacked my dog. Sumaira safely got my girl home and check her out from head to toe. She promptly notified me that the husky was attacked, however alright. Sumaira let me know there was a little blood on her ear, however she did not appear to be injured. I myself have had another dog attack us when we were walking. Sumaira did the responsible thing and notified me and ensured my girl was alright. In this type of situation that is best can be accomplished and despite this incident I will ask Sumaira to walk her again.”

He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself.
