“Alex did an amazing job looking after my two cats for multiple trips that I took in December and January. She sent me plenty of photos and updates and communicated with me consistently and reliably. Most importantly, she genuinely seemed to like my cats! My last trip was long so she stayed overnights as one of my cats is very needy and gets stressed when on his own for too long. He immediately took to Alex and was glued to her for most of her stay. She took amazing care of both my kitties and was understanding and accepting of my other cat’s boundaries and need for space. In addition, she was kind enough to feed 5 feral cats that I care for in my back yard. My apartment was just as I left it when I got back - garbage taken out, dishes washed, blankets folded etc. Little things but makes such a difference when you’re tired after coming home from a long day of travel. I will definitely be reaching out to Alex for future trips! She is wonderful!”

The cats were happy and relaxed, honestly like they didn’t miss us at all, which says everything. He stayed on top of all the feeding instructions we left, which we really appreciated, and made sure everything was handled exactly as requested. He also kept us posted on little things around the apartment, including the Roomba, making sure it was emptied, reset, and charging so it could keep running while we were gone. About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.

About: I’ve always had pets of my own and have been caring for animals for family, friends, and neighbors for as long as I can remember. I’m experienced with kittens, adult pets, and senior or medically complex animals, including providing around-the-clock hospice care for my own beloved cat after his ataxia diagnosis. I currently share my home with Leon, my one-year-old cat, and Chicken, my 26+ year-old African Grey parrot—both rescues (Chicken was found abandoned and taken in) and very loved. Of course, he gets brushed, not always with a happy purr, but he gets as much as he will tolerate.
