“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”

We booked a meet & greet a week before to get everyone familiar with each other. Their house is very puppy proofed and they have great indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to hang out and play. They even helped Reggie work on some homework exercises for his puppy class he's in (practicing down, stay, leave it, etc). They sent photo and video updates daily. Super smooth experience. About: I have had cats in my life since I was in my 30's up to when I moved to the West Coast, 15 years ago. I had one cat who needed a Diabetic shot twice a day for many years. At several points in my life I have had 2 cats. All my cats were indoor and well taken care of.
About: I have always had dogs growing up. When I was younger we did have a cat. I was a junior handler and dog trainer for my aunt who bred French Bulldogs for AKC shows. I practiced a little obedience/agility training during the same time. While in this setting I practiced with many different dog breeds and am comfortable handling any size dog. I helped a friend with her dog boarding company for a while and I encountered many different dogs here as well and not all as well trained. I absolutely love all animals I encounter. I love helping friends and family out with their animals while they are away. During college and high school, I would house sit/dog sit for friends. I have been around animals my entire life and I feel comfortable dealing with any situation thrown at me, whether it be a dog that isn't very good on a leash yet or a nervous animal who just needs a patient person to help take care of them while their family isn't there. My family currently has the goofiest labradoodle and Airedale terrier! We have two sweet pups, Gizmo, a poodle terrier, and Mazzy, a french bulldog. I am allergic to cats so while I'm happy to do drop ins and such with cats staying overnight with cats can be very difficult for me so I prefer to not sleep in homes that have cats. I am happy to wake up early and visit frequently if you have cats and dogs that way I can make sure every member of the family stays happy. Can't wait to meet your pups! I will be doing walks with my baby Mira either on my back in a carrier or in a stroller. If your pup isn't kid friendly I won't be a great fit, but I will keep my daughter separate just to keep pups comfortable and my daughter safe. About: I work from home so your dogs will be with me most of the time. I have a three year old mini schnauzer whom I adopted when she was a puppy so I am familiar with dog care. I typically took my dog out twice a day for a 30-40 mins long walk as well as a short potty break in the middle of the day. I work from home so I will be able to care for your dog while you are away. My household includes two kids (age 10 and 12) who also love dogs and a a three year old Mini Schnauzer named Jigglypuff. “Kara is amazing and took such good care of my two pups and truly provided them with their own vacation while I took mine. Kara is a dog lover and will take very good care of your animals and give them a truly unique experience of enjoying a pack and having an adventure. She sent pictures and videos every day enjoying adventures in Boulder Creek with other dogs. They got to go on hikes and swim and she took time to work with my littlest one teaching him how to be braver as he is a bit shy. I will definitely be taking my pups to her again in the future. “My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”
“Norelvis and Chris did a great job watching our pup, Reggie. He's a 7 mo old puppy and this was his first overnight away from home since we adopted him 2 months ago. We booked a meet & greet a week before to get everyone familiar with each other. Their house is very puppy proofed and they have great indoor and outdoor space for the dogs to hang out and play. They even helped Reggie work on some homework exercises for his puppy class he's in (practicing down, stay, leave it, etc). They sent photo and video updates daily. Super smooth experience. “Hi, I can tell when my dog was not stressed upon return from a boarding experience and our dog, was happy when no the caring hands of Steve and co. I got regular updates and My dog went on long walks and hikes. He had the company of other dogs and behaved in Steve’s presence- him being a trainer himself. He communicated with us throughout the booking and sent us videos of our pups playing. They always looked like they were having a great time! I appreciated that he gave us tips and tricks when we did a meet and greet on how to handle our dog walks more efficiently. He is knowledgeable about dog behavior which also made us feel better.
