“Valentina was a fantastic dog sitter for our two pit bull mix dogs. This was the first time we have left our dogs for a trip so we were a little nervous how it would work out. Before our trip we brought our dogs over to Valentina's to get to know her and her household. This was quite helpful for us and our dogs. For us as we were able to talk and have our questions answered. For the dogs because when we dropped them off this was a familiar place. Valentina touched base with use several times throughout the week to let us know how our pitties were getting along. I was pleased with the care our dogs received from Valentina. I recommend her.”

“QI took great care of Arisha. Arisha is a shy dog and it takes time for her to get used to new places. QI noticed how sad Arisha was and made specialized chicken and carrot meals for her that Arisha thoroughly loved. Arisha is also afraid of dogs, but while QI sits multiple dogs at once, she was able to socialize Arisha with all the other dogs to a point where Arisha joined the pack and started hanging out with them more, which is close to a miracle. Thank you QI for the wonderful care, Arisha came back home energetic and happy. I'll be happy to book again next time I have the need.”

“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”

About: For the last 6 years I have had different friends and family rely on me for dog, cat, and rabbit care. I have been responsible for scheduled feedings, bathing, walks, and of course playing and quality time. My goal is always to be communicative, reliable, and adaptable to any and all of your pets individual needs. I currently work full-time in retail with a schedule that varies per week, but would love to use any of my free time and days off to spend with pets. All shifts are 8 hours or less and I am more than willing to make time before or after (or both) any of my shifts. My biggest priority in any situation is to remain communicative and careful, as I understand what it’s like to have your pet in somebody else’s care. In cases of pet-sitting in your home I can be trusted to be respectful of all belongings, keeping a clean space, and going above and beyond care instructions. In cases of boarding in my home, I live in a two story house in the hills of Scotts Valley with two other animal-loving housemates. We have a large fenced backyard on a hill and plenty of hiking trails nearby to stay active.

So make sure you bring bedding your kitty will be comfortable with. Also, the household has a large friendly dog that likes to bark at strangers. Our kitty wouldn't be comfortable hanging around with him. But if your cat likes dawgs, this is the place for them! Doggie lives downstairs; kitty was upstairs. Never the twain would meet! Overall, definitely recommended. The pricing is affordable, the setting comfortable, and we know the sitter gave our kitty all the attention she wanted.”

“Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: Growing up, I had a golden retriever named Daisy. Daisy is was from an organization I worked with called NorCal Golden Rescue. We fostered her for a couple of weeks but fell in love with her undeniable love and decided to adopt her. NorCal Golden Rescue mainly rescues golden retrievers who have been neglected and abandoned from the streets of Taiwan and bring them to the San Francisco Bay Area where they are paired with a fur-ever home. I have with dogs of all ages and temperaments from young lively puppies to old mellow senior citizen doggos. If need be I have experience with delivering oral and topical medication to dogs; as well as putting on the cone of shame :(. I love taking dogs out for adventures so if you don’t want your dog to be board, I’m your guy!

About: I've had dogs my whole life, and I truly believe that they are a part of the family. I grew up hiking, training, and playing with my own dogs, as well as pet-sitting for my friends and family in high school. My two childhood dogs were both big and high-energy, so I have experience with dealing with intense personalities-from hyper puppies to senior dogs with health issues. I am also used to walking and taking care of two dogs at once, so if you have more than one pet, I am prepared. Most of all, I love seeing dogs happy, whether that be through taking them on walks or giving them love and attention. I am a UCSB student, but I am home for the summer (until I go back to school in mid-September), so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur-babies! About: I take my dogs for runs, and I travel with her some times! I love watching after dogs and being physical! Exercise is very important! Currently I live with family and they help take care of our animals as well and take my dog and cat for walks, we live in nature so they sun bathe and frolic . I can offer going to peoples houses and that means making sure they're well fed and entertained and just really taking care of them anyway they need. “Valentina was a fantastic dog sitter for our two pit bull mix dogs. This was the first time we have left our dogs for a trip so we were a little nervous how it would work out. Before our trip we brought our dogs over to Valentina's to get to know her and her household. This was quite helpful for us and our dogs. For us as we were able to talk and have our questions answered. For the dogs because when we dropped them off this was a familiar place. Valentina touched base with use several times throughout the week to let us know how our pitties were getting along. I was pleased with the care our dogs received from Valentina. I recommend her.”
“QI took great care of Arisha. Arisha is a shy dog and it takes time for her to get used to new places. QI noticed how sad Arisha was and made specialized chicken and carrot meals for her that Arisha thoroughly loved. Arisha is also afraid of dogs, but while QI sits multiple dogs at once, she was able to socialize Arisha with all the other dogs to a point where Arisha joined the pack and started hanging out with them more, which is close to a miracle. Thank you QI for the wonderful care, Arisha came back home energetic and happy. I'll be happy to book again next time I have the need.”

“My lab mix Steinbeck had a great relaxed time at his first overnight stretch (3 nights and days) at Camp Mita, after previously spending several good doggy daycare days there. He is a rescue with a trauma history so he can become quite nervous when I am away-- but not so at all when with MIta and family!--who gave him so much TLC as well as lovely walks. MIta's calm and friendly older yellow lab also clearly was a very reassuring presence to him. I loved receiving the gracious daily photos so I could see how "at home" he was making himself. He came home completely grounded. I was able to enjoy my time away so much more because he clearly enjoyed his time with Madhumita. Thanks for your attentiveness to a sensitive dog, Mita!”
