“Outstanding care, a True Dog whisperer. Sequoia Humane Society hired Mark to care for Browner an d Odie over the Thanksgiving holiday - Two large dogs! Both are known to struggle with other dogs, including each other. I was honestly preparing for this to simply be a safe, calm stay...what we got was something truly incredible. From the very beginning, Mark asked all the right questions about behavior, needs, routines and safety. It was clear he understood these were not "easy" dogs and approach their care with thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism. I encouraged him to try socializing them only if he felt right about an opportunity. To our complete surprise, Brownie and Odie became best friends almost immediately in his care. This is something we have not been able to achieve in a shelter environment and seeing that transformation was nothing short of amazing. This experience has opened new doors for both dogs and given us real hope for their future success in foster and forever homes. Both dogs had the time of their life in Mark's care. About: I've owned and lived with at least 8 different cats since I was 10. Cats are my favorite animal on the planet earth. My first cat I got when I was 15, and I had her for 9 years until her unfortunate passing due to cancer. She will always be in my heart. My current 2 girls are the sweetest things, and I look forward to seeing them every time I get home. I sometimes go and give cat advice to my mom who is a new cat owner with a kitten who is almost 1. I help play with her kitten and her dog while my mom gets things done around her home. I know cats sometimes need medicine, especially elderly cats, my girl Diamond included. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

About: I've had dogs my entire life so I have experience with dogs of all ages. I currently have a dog and two cats, and I'm also trusted in my neighborhood and amongst family and friends as someone to watch their animals when they're gone. Im a full time college student but I usually always have my own animals in my bedroom with me, sitting under (or on top of) my desk while I work. I have a friendly dog who absolutely loves play dates, so your dog would never get bored. My backyard is quite large so the dogs have tons of room to run around and play. The fences are regularly checked for holes under them to ensure our dog can't get out. I also have two large cat cages in my home where each of my cats sleep, but if needed, they can sleep in the same cage and the other one can be used to provide your pet some privacy, with their own food and water dishes. I have many many many interactive cat toys so even while i'm working, they can play with the toys that are attached to my desk and walls, along with scratching posts.

About: I have always been an animal lover. Since my teenage years we had dogs and cats in the house. Over the last 17 years I have lived with and cared for 2 dogs and two cats. Sadly 3 of them have passed on at this point, and It's just myself and my 12 yr old husky mix Suki now. I am only employed on a very part time basis, so I have a fairly open and flexible schedule for dog walking, home visits and boarding on most weekdays, and some weekends. I have a fenced back yard perfect for pets to hang out in, and there is also a covered area in the back yard if the weather is rainy. I would also allow them inside the house, but not on furniture :). I am a very active person, I walk my own dog at least twice a day, and would be happy to walk even more with yours!

About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.

About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.
About: I grew up on a ranch with dogs, cats, horses, and cattle, and my boyfriend who I live with has had dogs his whole life. We love dogs of all size and ages and hope to adopt more in the future. Our schedules line up to where someone would be home with your pup 95% of the time! We offer daily walks and adventures if that’s what your pup needs as well, and lots of toys of course.
