About: EXPERIENCE - We've had a variety of pets over the last 25+ years, including dogs, cats, chickens, lovebirds, fish, and tortoises! Right now we have two snuggly 5-year-old pups plus a kitty that hides in a bedroom when she doesn't want to hang out with the dogs. :) We've been pet sitting regularly for friends and family for the last 7+ years. MEET & GREET - We require a brief meet & greet in our front yard before all bookings, to ensure your pet and our pets are a great fit. Thanks for understanding. CRATE TRAINED ONLY - We crate or corral visiting dogs at night and when no one is home to supervise interactions. They must already be crate trained so this feels comfortable and not stressful for them. :) BEHAVIOR - Please only request stays for dogs that are well behaved since we have a big family and plenty going on. All dogs must be friendly with other dogs and with children, and must not attack cats (our daughter's cat generally stays out of the way, but some dogs are intent on hunting her down). We cannot accept requests from high energy dogs at this time. NOT AVAILABLE FOR - Sorry, we don't take pit bulls or huskies. We had a bad experience with a pit, and one of our kids is very allergic to huskies. FUN FACT - We prioritize using non-toxic products for home and personal care. There are no chemical fragrances or toxic cleaners in our home, which could irritate your pet's skin or lungs. SCHEDULE - I'm a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu self-defense instructor with a flexible schedule, so I'm home a lot (typically gone 2 - 4 hours a day for classes). AROUND THE HOUSE - All pups run free in the house when we're home. We have a block fence around our backyard, and a locked alley gate. FURNITURE - Dogs are only allowed on beds/sofas when invited. The exception is a special chair that looks out to the street. It's a favorite perch! See pics under Ollie & Paisley's profiles. :) Even dogs that are used to being on the furniture tend to adjust quickly to these limitations when somewhere else. CRATE TRAINED ONLY - **For safety, we crate visiting dogs at night and when no one is not home to supervise interactions. About: I have been a nurse for 10 years. I am currently working 3 days a week and wishing I was hanging out with dogs the other 4. I'm here to fix that. I will treat them just as good as all of my patients :D My work schedule is a little variable. But I'm usually available 4 days out of the week to hang out with pups. My current availability should be updated on the calendar. My fun dog loving wife is also typically available for potty breaks and cuddles I have a clean townhome, though it can feel a bit small sometimes. The townhome is two floors with stairs and windows for the dogs to look outside!

“We did a meet and greet before Mayra's first stop-in for our dog, but it probably would have been good to actually let her walk the dog in our presence before we left town. Just to let them get better aquainted. The first time she tried to enter the house, our dog barked and growled until my daughter came over to calm down the dog. Once rapport was built, Maya had no trouble with the dog, a 65-pound, gregarious Goldendoodle that barked a lot initially... and then wanted to be her lap dog. Mayra was faithful in showing up and walking our dog every day. I'd recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter, especially those of a calmer nature.”

I've had pets all my life of varying sizes, breeds, and ages. I work great with dogs and cats. I volunteered at my local animal shelter during college which gave me great experience with a variety of dogs, cats, and their personalities. Each pet is unique, and I love learning their personalities. My neighbors, friends, and family have often relied on me to care for their pets when they were away and assist with the day to day tasks of caring for their fur babies including feeding, bathing, and walking their pets. She has an fenced in outdoor area for the pups and also a clean and spacious house with multiple rooms. I am so anxious about my dogs safety around other dogs bc she is a small breed so Zinnia texted me whenever she was going to have a new dog around my dog and she sent pics and videos of my dog making friends.
