“Trisha and Dan did such a great job watching our pup! They asked thoughtful questions before we left, kept me updated on how things were going, and went over and above to make our dog feel comfortable, loved, and safe. They provided an nice, clean environment and took our dog for a walk every day. They are kind and trustworthy. I highly recommend them!”

“Our dog was super happy staying with Robert and family. Well definitely use them again. I really appreciated the updates and photos to show he was settling in. Robert was really responsive and accommodating.”

“Larissa and Valerie were great! I have three pittie mixes who hadn't stayed away from home yet. I felt very comfortable leaving them with Larissa and Valerie. My dogs did great! They enjoyed running in the pasture, playing with toys, and chilling with all the other dogs in the house. My dogs were happy and relaxed when I picked them up. I have already booked their next stay!”

“We left our senior pup with Matt for almost a week and felt so at ease! He asked lots of questions to make sure he could keep her routine as normal as possible and our girl looked like she had a great time. It was nice having peace of mind while being away - would definitely use again!”

“Britney was amazing with my doggies, very friendly and kind. I definitely recommend her for your doggies and I felt safe leaving them with her. She was very prompt and kept me updated with pictures. I will definitely use her again”

About: My son is fundraising for his high school trip. I am welcoming pets into our home as part of his effort to raise money to apply toward his trip. I do not currently have any other animals at home, but I have had dogs for most of the last 30 years. I have trained puppies to adult dogs and taken classes for each of the stages the dogs went through. Cared for my elderly dog until she passed. I have fostered dogs and cared for family pets when they went on deployments. Nice big fenced yard. Active family who will play with and love on your pets while you are away. I offer part-time, full-time, weekend, and overnight care. I can also do drop in visits, overnight sitting, dog walking, puppy care, and administering medication. I am certified in first aid/CPR have over 30 years of experience with pets, have passed a background check for work in the medical industry and after school groups, and lots of experience administering pet medications.
About: I’ve cared and watched dogs and cats for several years, including drop-in services, house sitting and boarding. I have also owned cats and dogs almost my entire life and love spending time around them. I work full time, but have summers and holidays off and free every weekend. During summers and weekends I can do several drop ins as well as sit for several days in a row. I have a large fenced back yard where dogs can run, I don’t currently have any pets of my own so the dog or cat will get 100% of the attention. If watching at your home, being respectful of the home, cleaning up after the pet and myself if any messes, leaving the home just as when I first entered.
“Dawn was awesome. Right from the first meet and greet knew she and our dog Fenton would get along tremendously. After Fenton stayed a week with Dawn we found our feelings were correct. He was well taken care of and enjoyed his stay. We received pics daily of Fenton and told of how he was doing. He was taken for great walks and had a fantastic fenced back yard all to himself. We weren't sure if he would want to come home with us as he showed true affection for Dawn as we left. Definitely Fenton will be staying with Dawn again should we have go away again. Thanks Dawn!”

“Ashley was so great to work with. She sent daily updates and pictures and worked with my pup on some training while I was away. She put together a training assessment of my pup's stay for me to continue training once home. As my first time using Rover, Ashley exceeded all expectations and I will definitely go to her for any future needs. I highly recommend Ashley!”

About: Pets have always brought me a lot of happiness, and that's why I love to help take care of them. Keeping on careful eye on your pet is very important to me! Also I genuinely enjoy the company of animals so there will be lots of hanging out, playing & potty breaks. I keep my space very clean & pet friendly.
About: I’ve had dogs since I could remember. I currently have three dogs and they always enjoy having another friend come over to hang out with! I have a fenced yard that holds a garden and chicken coop that gives our dogs a great spot for new smells. Dogs are all welcome to stay inside if that is their preference and we are able to have them in their crate if preferred.

“Anastasia was super sweet to send pictures and updates every day. She asked me about concerns to ensure his happiness and health, which I really appreciated, and went on extra walks with him. Hiro has often come home sick or injured after Rover stays, but with Anastasia he was happy and healthy!”

About: I have been pet sitting for various friends, family, neighbors, and families for years. People trust me with their pets because they know I care I hope to schedule dog walking and cat sitting in between studying for my graduate school classes. Being a student gives me the flexibility to be on call! Safety is the most important thing! Providing a safe home for my pets to live in gives me peace of mind and allows my pets to live freely without being micromanaged
“Adelita had great communication prior to dropping our 2 dogs off with her. She wanted to make sure she had all the right stuff for them. She even stayed calm when one of my dogs pooped on her floor as soon as he got in her place! (Usually doesn't happen but it was a long car ride and he chose sniffing when he was outside the car instead of pooping). Great rates and care for my two 80 lb dogs. I would definitely book Adelita again.”

About: I am from Tri Cities and have a passion for animals! I have 2 cats and two dachshunds of my own. I have watched a few of my friends dogs in the past, ranging different sizes. I would love to take your dog(s) for a walk! I currently work full time Mon- Fri, with time available after work or on weekends through the day. Would love to incorporate more animals in to my life since I cannot adopt anymore! We have a big house and fenced yard for animals to enjoy. Both of my cats are indoors and escape artists, so I am used to being very careful and attentive. I understand it is nerve wracking to have someone else watch over your pets and hope that they don’t escape their sight. I promise to do my very best to provide an attentive, loving, friendly approach with your animals. Both of my dogs are Dachsunds, meaning I am used to the most stubborn dog on the planet. I also understand the importance of home modifications for them to live happily and safely with us; so rest assured that I can relate to specific requests and attention to detail when caring for your babies.

Madlin was great! Our dog gets extremely anxious in new environments and unfortunately had an accident upon arrival to her home. She was very kind and understanding and continued with his boarding. By the end of the stay, he was happy and relaxed and had been well taken care of! Madlin updated us each day and provided photos. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Umatilla home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Umatilla.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Umatilla sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
