“Mike is great with Sapphire! I always get feedback and pictures every visit, and Mike follows all instructions to a T. My dog feels safe when I'm away because of this special care she is getting and it is greatly appreciated. Perla & Michael C. are #1 on the Rover app!”

“Amanda was amazing and professional. She sent lots of pictures. Dogs eating, playing, etc... it was fantastic the way she worked and cared for our pups. Her summary of the visits were great to read how they are doing in real time. Thank you so much for your heart and professional. We can't thank her enough.”

About: Working from home gives me the opportunity to be closer to my pup and give him the love and attention he deserves. As your sitter you can rest assured that I will love and care for your pup as if he/she were my own! As a dog parent and someone newer to Rover I completely understand the hesitation and worry that comes with hiring someone unknown from the internet to care after your fur baby! I provide LOTS of updates, pictures and videos, as I want you to be comfortable and confident in your decision with me as your sitter! Although I am new to Rover, I am not new to dog sitting. I have lived the last 8 years of my life with dogs of approximately 70lbs or less. I often dog sit for family members while they are away on vacation. I strive to provide a comfy home environment for pups to stay while their owners are away. I work with house training pups and have also taught them basic commands. I can provide extra walks if needed for a pup that is learning to house train. With me your pup will get lots of love, attention, and cuddles! I strive to provide the level of service that I would look for and expect of a sitter! I hope to meet you and your pup soon! I’m currently working full time, I work from home with a good amount of flexibility so I will have plenty of time to spend with your pups! I solely offer house sitting in the clients home. I do this because I prefer to meet with and sit dogs in their own spaces so that we are not disrupting their daily routine while their owners are away.
“It is wonderful to have David take care of kitty drop ins for our 2 fur babies again. We are grateful to have a trustworthy and reliable person to care for Carly and Augie when we are away.”

“Tetiana was fabulous! She communicated prior to the check-ins to ensure she had all the details about the dogs covered. She followed all of our instructions, stayed the entire visit to play with the dogs, and sent updates and photos. At the end of the visit when she left she gave one final update on the dogs to let us know how they were throughout the trip. I came home to two happy puppies worth every penny! I would highly recommend her if you are I need of someone caring and detail oriented to look over your dogs.”

“Theresa was fantastic! Her responses were timely & it's obvious she both loves and has experience with animals. Even while my shy cat was hiding, Theresa was able to get her out to pet her and have her take her nightly pill! Definitely reccomend.”

“Camden was very caring and conscientious about taking care of our six cats, while we were away for six days. He took pictures and gave status reports, and even took in my mail. He has familiarity with many different kinds of animals, and we trusted him in our home 100%!”

“Cassie did an amazing job taking care of my three cats while my family was away on vacation. She was attentive to each of their individual needs and made sure they were all well cared for and healthy. About: I have owned animals all of my life. I currently have 4 dogs (2 labs, one rat terrier mix, and a corgie), a cat. In the past I've owned labs, Samoyeds, birds, fish, and a multitude of cats. I have a huge heart for animals and love to spoil them. The joy and love that animals bring to our hearts is unmatched. About: Dogs have been a part of my life since I was a child, and caring for them has always been something I do with so much love. I currently have four dogs: two Yorkies, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and a French Bulldog, so I have experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and needs. Living with them every day has taught me how important it is to provide attention, patience, affection, and a safe environment. I am very familiar with feeding routines, walks, playtime, cleaning, and daily care. I also understand that every dog is different and deserves to have their personality, habits, and routines respected. What sets me apart as a pet sitter is that I truly love dogs and treat them like part of the family. When a dog is in my care, I want them to feel comfortable, loved, safe, and never alone. I also want their owners to have peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. For me, caring for dogs is more than just a job—it is something I genuinely enjoy and something that has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. ❤️🐾 I work from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to care for pets throughout the day. I spend most of my time at home, so any dogs staying with me will have plenty of company, attention, and affection. I am available both during the week and on weekends, and I can easily adjust my routine to match each dog’s feeding, walking, playtime, and rest schedule. It is very important to me that every dog feels comfortable, loved, and right at home during their stay. 🐶❤️ In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I have a spacious house and a large, fully fenced yard where dogs can go outside, play, and enjoy themselves safely. I want every dog to feel comfortable and at home. They are welcome on the furniture and even on the bed if that is part of their usual routine. I always respect each owner’s preferences and instructions so their pet can feel as calm, happy, and comfortable as possible. Since I work from home, I am able to keep a close eye on them throughout the day, supervise their time outside, follow their feeding schedule, make sure they get enough rest, and provide plenty of companionship, attention, and affection. Their safety and well-being are always my top priority. 🐶❤️

About: Hi! I’m Maria, a lifelong dog lover and work-from-home mom to two teens and a toddler. We recently lost our beloved dog, and our home feels a little quieter without paws around. Caring for dogs again feels like a meaningful way to share that love. I work from home, so your dog will have consistent supervision and companionship. We do morning and evening walks, midday potty breaks, and lots of attention throughout the day. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Trexlertown
Lisa has continued to be reliable for us taking care of our two cats. She provided daily care during our long vacation and our cats were always excited to see her. She was communicative throughout her drop ins and gave my wife and I the rest assurance that our cats were taken care of while we were away. Would highly recommend her.

Stephanie was able to help us take care of our cats last minute when we were going out of town. She was responsive and reliable for us. The updates she gave were very detailed and our boys loved her from the very start. She knows how to take care of cats and would definitely hire her again in the future.

Valynn was everything we could have asked for in a pet sitter. She took the best care of our pups while we were away, ensuring they had plenty of walks and lots of loving care. She shared pictures with every visit and it was clear from their “smiles” that our dogs felt very comfortable with her. We will definitely look to book her again if we are away, and highly recommend her to others who need great pet care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
